《Easy Is Boring ✓》Chapter Three

After spending a bit of time at Tori's, Beck decided to go back home to the comfort of his RV.
"I miss her," he mumbled under his breath as he walked inside, brushing aside a black tank top on the floor with his foot.
He plopped on his couch, pulling his laptop on his lap as he scrolled through Jade's page on the Slap.
He came across one of their videos together and he clicked on it.
"Tell me something you like."
"Like, or love?"
Jade shrugged. "Love."
Beck had a goofy grin playing on his lips as he replied, "you."
Jade smiled. "Aw."
She walked over to him and sat on his lap, pulling him in for a kiss.
Beck sighed, leaning back into the couch and running his fingers through his hair.
He missed her.
Way too much.
Even though he knew he shouldn't have, he clicked on another video of theirs.
"Say you love me."
"Magic word."
"Please?"
"I love you."
He wanted to cry.
And he did. He couldn't help it.
He closed the laptop, put his face in his hands, and cried.

"I miss him, Cat," Jade sighed, staring up at the ceiling as she laid on her bed.
Cat played with Mr. Purple, her stuffed giraffe, as she replied, "he misses you too."
Jade sat up, staring at the perky red head. "He does?"
Cat nodded. "Yep! Earlier today when we were hanging out at Tori's, he was jealous."
Jade rolled her eyes. "Jealous of what?"
"Jealous of you hanging out with Zach."
Jade's eyes widened. "Oh."
"Yep. He totally misses you."
"Just because he's jealous doesn't mean that he misses me," Jade responded, staring down at her lap.

"That's exactly what it means."
"Whatever."
Cat sighed. "Jadey, you love him. He loves you. Just get back together already, it's not that hard."
Jade blew a strand of hair out of her face. "It is that hard, Cat! Our relationship is toxic...everyone thinks so! We break up, we kiss, we get back together. God, it's so unhealthy."
Cat frowned at her best friend. "That's not toxic, Jade. Not every relationship is perfect. There's gonna be fights. There's gonna be miscommunications. It's not gonna be easy. No relationship should be easy. People only say your relationship was toxic because it's not easy. That's the only reason."
Jade licked her lips, taking in what Cat just explained to her.
Maybe the perky red head was actually right for once.
"You're right," Jade said. "Thanks, Cat."
"That's what best friends are for."
Maybe Jade should talk to Beck. Maybe he would take her back.
Maybe everything could go back to normal soon.

The next day at school was a blur.
Lunch time was more distant than usual. And as soon as Jade sat down with the gang at their usual lunch table, Beck shot up from the bench and hurried away.
Jade frowned.
Cat placed a hand on her shoulder, giving her a small smile.
Jade didn't know what to do anymore.
She felt so broken.
So the goth stood up and walked off to try and find her ex-boyfriend.
She found the tanned-skin Canadian at his locker, laying his head against it as he sat down. She walked over to him, sitting down next to him.
"Jade," Beck sighed. "I came here to be alone."
"Well then you should've went somewhere actually private," Jade replied, clicking her tongue.
Beck looked over at her, and she looked back at him.

"Just because we're broken up doesn't mean we can't be friends, right?" Jade then spoke up, tilting her head at him.
Beck wanted to object.
Because that's exactly what it means.
But instead he answered, "right."
"Good. So stop running away every time you see me."
"Noted."
They both sat there in comfortable silence, staring off into space.
This whole friends thing was going to be a challenge for the both of them.

"Hey Jade," Zach smiled, running up to Jade who was walking to the janitors closet to finish up some homework before her next class.
"Hey."
"Whatcha up to?"
Jade opened the door to the janitors closet. "Homework."
"Mind if I join you?"
"I kinda want to do it alone."
Zach rolled his eyes, pushing her inside and closing the door behind him. "Just because it sounded like a question, doesn't mean it was a question."
Jade glared at him as he pressed her against the wall, and his lips turned into a wide smirk.
"Get away from me."
"No can do," he chuckled softly. "So, are you free after school? We can head back to my place."
"I've already declined that proposal," Jade hissed back, trying to push him off her.
"I vividly remember you saying maybe," he raised an eyebrow at her.
"Well I've changed my mind," she growled. "Now get off of me!"
"Feisty, aren't you now?"
"Leave me alone!"
Zach pressed his lips to her ear, murmuring softly. "There's no escaping me, West. Just letting you know."
He then pulled away from her, exiting the closet and shutting the door behind him.
Jade huffed angrily, deciding that homework was the least of her worries at the moment.
She was starting to really hate that Zach guy.
She ran her fingers through her slightly disheveled hair and left the janitors closet, and froze when she saw Beck frowning at her from his locker.
He must've saw Zach come out, then her.
He didn't actually think that they were doing something in there together, did he?
She was about to walk up to him and explain everything, to tell him that Zach was basically harassing her, but he walked away before she could tell him anything.
So much for being friends.

A New Leaf
When people mention fantasy games and RPGs, they usually think of goblins, elves, orcs, dwarves and magic (apart from the percentage that gets an image of an anti-tank weapon in their mind, I will respectfully put those individuals aside for now). But what if you get neither of those (not even the weapon, I know, sad)? And what if you end up playing as something that doesn't look like an animal at all? And what if the said game you were playing weren't actually a game, but real life changed by irresponsible, beyond-mortal beings? Follow the (mis)adventures of "player" 13241, a.k.a. Treant, as he experiences what it's like to be a walking magical fruit maker (among other things). When the world goes to hell and back, plants are the ones that remain, right?

Cursed Forest
This is a high fantasy story with horror elements, featuring the map-maker and half-elf Aspen, and his friend Sekafi, a hyena-like humanoid as they are sent on a mission to map out unknown territory and encounter a monster. Soon they're involved in something larger and more dangerous than they ever wanted. What happens next, you'll find out when you read. This is the first story I'm publishing here on RoyalRoad. I wanted to try this site out since it's more geared towards fantasy. I've been at Wattpad for about 2 years under the same name, but since I'm not writing romance I haven't gotten much steam there. This is my latest story, and it's also published on Wattpad in the book called Short Stories. I wanted to start with something new and unfinished here. I'll try and update at least once every other week, sometimes more often. ~RiisingNovels
