《Easy Is Boring ✓》Chapter Two

Beck furrowed his brows, walking a little closer to Jade's locker so he could overhear his ex and the new guy talking.
"So, what do ya say?" The guy asked, his shaggy blonde hair falling into his eyes slightly.
Jade sighed, shutting her locker. "Sure, why not. I got nothing better to do anyways."
The new guy grinned at her. "Great! How does seven o'clock sound?"
"Sounds good. You're picking me up though."
The guy nodded. "Of course."
Beck frowned from his place behind the nearby wall. Were they going on a date?
He felt an unfamiliar feeling build up in his stomach, and his frown became deeper.
"See ya around," Jade then mumbled, waking away from her locker and to her first class.
"See ya!"
Beck grimaced. He had an uneasy feeling about that guy.
Why would Jade agree to go out with him? It took Beck thirty-four times to get her to go on one date with him!
"If you're gonna eavesdrop on us, at least make it less noticeable," a voice said, and Beck looked up.
"Oh, um, sorry," Beck lied, forcing a smile at the new guy.
"I can tell you're not sorry," he chuckled, leaning against a random locker. "Wanna explain why you were spying on us?"
Beck scoffed. "I don't have to explain anything to you, I don't even know you."
"Well allow me to introduce myself," he said. "The name's Zachary. Zach for short. And you?"
"Beck."
"Well Beck," Zach smiled. "I'm getting a strong feeling that you don't want me to go out with Jade, correct?"
"How did you- "
Zach rolled his eyes. "Please, it's quite noticeable."
Beck glared at him. "So what if I don't?"

Zach chuckled softly, taking a step towards the tanned-skin Canadian. "I may be new here, Beck, but I'm not someone you wanna mess with. I'll say this only once: I always get what I want. Keep that in mind, pretty boy."
And with that, Zach walked away, leaving Beck completely uneasy and annoyed.

"You have beautiful eyes," Zach said, looking at the raven haired beauty that sat in the booth across from him.
Jade smiled. "Thanks."
"Of course," Zach replied, a grin gracing his lips. "I think we should head back to my place after this, my house is empty. What do ya say?"
Jade frowned slightly, not liking the tone of his voice. "Um, maybe not today."
Zach chuckled, placing a hand on hers on the table. "I don't bite, if that's what you're worried about. We can just have a little fun."
Jade was starting to feel queasy. She shifted around in her seat, not liking the weird look in his eye.
"I really don't think that's a good idea."
He started stroking her hand with a thumb, humming softly. "I guess I understand. Maybe another time then."
Jade swallowed thickly, slowly pulling her hand away from his. "Yeah. Maybe."
Zach knew he was making her feel uncomfortable. He wasn't trying to, he just wanted to get her alone in his house.
"You've barely eaten anything," he then spoke, eyeing the uneaten food on her plate.
Jade held a hand to her stomach, feeling as if she was going to be sick. The queasiness was too much for her.
"I'm really not hungry."
Zach frowned. "You gotta eat something. It's not good for you if you don't eat."
Jade had had about enough of him at the moment. She shot up from her seat, smiling uneasily at him. "I'll be fine, thanks. I'm going home."

And just her luck, he stood up too. "I'll drive you home."
"Um, I can walk- "
"Nonsense," Zach smiled. "I'll drive you home, it's not a problem."
Knowing that she didn't have a choice, she hesitantly agreed, following him to his car.
They both got into the car and Zach started it up, driving away to her house.
But as soon as his hand slid to her thigh, she wanted to throw herself out of the driving car.
"This is my house," she then spoke quietly after a few minutes, causing Zach to stop the car.
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow then," he said, smiling at her.
She didn't return the smile. Just hurried and got out of his car, rushing inside her house and shutting the door.

Beck felt out of place all day.
He hated the fact that Jade was probably out with that Zach guy. Like, he wasn't even that good-looking!
Okay, maybe he was a little good-looking.
But Beck still didn't like him.
He sighed heavily, grumbling quietly to himself as the gang watched him intently.
They were all hanging out at Tori's house, playing a game of poker. But Beck's mind was somewhere far away.
"Uh, man?" Andre looked at his best friend. "You okay?"
Beck snapped back to reality and cleared his throat. "Uh, yeah! I'm fine. Just thinking, ya know."
Cat giggled. "Thinking about what?"
"Stuff."
"What kinda stuff?"
"Just stuff."
Tori quirked an eyebrow. "Thinking about Jade, I'm guessing?"
Cat gasped, placing down her cards on the table. "I heard she went out with that cute boy, Zach! He seems so sweet!"
Robbie snorted. "What sane guy would want to go out with Jade?"
Beck shot the curly haired boy a glare, making Robbie shrink back into his chair.
"I've heard he's nice," Tori shrugged. "Not my type though."
Beck huffed, leaning back into his chair. "Can we stop talking about him, please? I don't like him."
Cat giggled again. "Ooh, you're jealous, aren't you? Beck's jealous!"
Beck scoffed, rolling his eyes. "No way. I don't get jealous. That dude just gives me a bad vibe, that's all."
Tori chuckled softly. "You're totally jealous."
"I am not jealous."
"Are too."
"Am not.
"Are too," Tori sing-songed, causing Beck to groan.
Hell, maybe he was jealous.
Jealous seeing Jade with another guy. Jealous seeing her happy with someone that wasn't him.
Jealous that she could be with any guy she wanted.
Beck didn't like the feeling of jealousy.
Maybe he was just overreacting. Maybe Zach wasn't as bad as Beck thought he was.
Maybe there was nothing to worry about after all.

Core Chronicles
Core Chronicles is a series of interrelated stories, including in-depth major story arcs and shorter side stories about Cores and those affected by them through direct and indirect means. The first arc is planned to be Dungeon Core with City Building elements in an Urban Fantasy setting. It will mainly follow one main character's point of view, but on occasion, the POV may shift to side characters to give more information about what is happening in the wider world. The stories will also examine how the world changes with the introduction of magic and its various purposes. The System will be between soft and crunchy, with discrete levels and stats for characteristics and skills. But, for example, the health statistic will be a less clear indicator rather than a distinct stat.

The First Rule of Dungeoneering: This will kill you Sylvester Bayes, the 4th son of a small baron, has suddenly had his head filled with the memories and work of someone who had dedicated their life to memorizing every dungeon they could find and designing a new RPG system. Not about to waste these gifts, Sylvester quickly sets out to get rich quick and discover the reasons behind his sudden knowledge. (Please note, this is dressed up actual play from my testing of a tabletop RPG. It is actually how the game has gone and there is a very real chance that anyone, including Sylvester, could die in any encounter. To help make my job easier I am using dungeons written by other people, which is why I have listed this as a fanfiction. I put links to all of them in the chapters where they are relevant.)
