Although this pain follows me, I seem afraid to lose it. We are better acquainted now, and I almost seem fond of this companion; it gives us some common ground to stand on. These trying times are what the real lessons of life are built upon, and perhaps we need to feel that gut-wrenching agony to appreciate the ecstasy of life.
