A flower heart

in the soul

is an art of gray

dripped in gore

Splashes of ink

on black metal bars

marring the white

in slashing stacks

the heart of a gray

at the edge of a dart

The gray in the soul

gave life to a lark

in a vessel of a mind

of an age-old glass

poisoning the lake

to depths in its dark

As each bud is born

in the cryptic lines

is starkin' as the lore

of its dawn divine

in the tender tendrils

of a newborn heart

Light as it falls

sinks on the flowers

n' the path turns gray

for it's the end of a start

No white no black

None are apart

In the soul

of a heart

is an art of gray

dripped in gore

Now, this poem was written for a sketch. I made a sketch and then I wrote a poem on it, though there are a lot more layers to it. I'll add the sketch for reference :)

So there is a lot of symbolism in this, like the flowers in the pic have heart-shaped petals, 'black metal bars'= black lines of the page and 'dart' is a pen!
