the monsters and i get along,

a lot better than you'd probably ever think.

we have these deep conversations,

in the nighttime when i can't seem to sleep.

i connect quite well with the monsters,

like them, i don't seem to fit in.

we're the ones that the public often crucifies;

we have a slight tendency to sin.

the monsters are not what i fear,

they wear their flaws up high on their sleeves.

it's society that terrifies me most,

their own darknesses are much harder to perceive.

so to the monsters, i thank you for being there,

please always stay under my bed.
