There are some words,

I'd like to say to my demons.

Not sure how to start,

but I feel the need to scream this.

First I just want to say,

you've really hit me hard.

You've turned this once innocent life,

into an armful of jagged scars.

Second-- well,

you should already know.

After all, you've taken over my mind,

you've caused these many woes.

But I just want to tell you,

right to your controlling, sneering face.

That one day I'll overcome you,

that I'm going to win this painstaking race.

Laugh it off,

after all you're still here.

And maybe that's on me,

after all, I let you come near.

I suppose I allowed you to enter my mind,

now isn't that the ironic truth?

I let you take over my thoughts and actions,

I let you steal away my blissful youth.

Yeah laugh it up,

real funny, isn't it?

That these demons,

are just the darker side of my spirit.

Sometimes I picture my mind as a fantasy realm,

caught in the grip of a tyrant villain.

I pretend to be the hero,

And try to save the land and fix what's broken.

But that broken land,

isn't quite the symbol it seems.

Because you see that broken land,

that broken land is me.

And I think the demons are laughing right now,

because how can they be the bad?

When the harsh truth is,

they're just another part of my head.

So is it possible,

that the real monster is me?

Because when I look in the mirror,

a monster is all I can ever see.

But no,

time to steel my nerves once more.

Cause I've got some words to say,

and this is war.

So to the demons inside my head,

congrats, you've done me really well.

You've tainted everything in reach,

yeah, you've done real swell.

But I've got a lot more by my side,

than a simple pleading act.

See I've got people there for me,

and we're ready to attack.

So keep control of my mind,

as long as you possibly can.

But I hope you know this fight isn't over,

hells, the real battle just began.
