smiles aren't always happy,

grins aren't always glad.

normality isn't always perfection,

standing out isn't always bad.

this society that we live in,

isn't quite the diamond that it seems.

we hear of all the things that are good,

but often miss the silent screams.

exactly when things went sour,

nobody truly knows.

but society would never admit these pains,

so plunging down this hole we go.

a bit like Alice in Wonderland,

i think you'd come to find.

but rather than off with our heads,

it's gone with the sanity of our minds.
