I blinked my eyes slowly, and my senses as well began to wake up. I yawned and realized my face was damp. I sat up and tenderly touched my cheek and felt it was wet. 'What?' I rubbed the damp spot, trying to remember last night, then it all came crashing in.

The storm, Y/N, singing, etc. I sighed deeply. "Oh." Last night was traumatizing and extremely embarrassing. It was a wonder Y/N didn't laugh in your face or just get up and leave. Instead he...stayed. I smiled softly, 'I wonder if he's up...' I gasped. 'Up!' I scrambled out of bed and ran out of my door. "Oh I am such a fool..." I ran down the stairs and turned into the kitchen. Y/N turned around and smiled. "Oh, good morning!"

'He is adorable' I shook away the thought immeadietly. "Y/N I am so sorry that you had to make breakfast this morning, I slept far too late." He waved his hands and set down some eggs on to the table. "It's fine. I don't mind at all. Besides-." He smirked at me. "I can finally show you how grand my cooking skills are." I smiled back at him and took a seat. "Well then, I won't try to seem too disappointed." Y/N made a knowing look. "Fine. Taunt all you wish. I won't listen until you take a bite."

The smell coming from breakfast did hint he wasn't lying about being a good cook. Eggs, Sausage, Toast, Hash-browns, and some orange juice. All overwhelmingly laid out before me in a tantalizing display. I seemed nonchalant however, and slowly put each item onto my plate. Y/N rolled his eyes. "Oh come on Alex-." "Hush I'm getting there." I quipped back and put the last item onto my plate. I gave Y/N one last glance then took a bite of egg.

My eyes widened. This was, without the slightest of doubt, one of the best things I have ever tasted. Y/N laughed. "Well I did not know I was that good." My cheeks heated with embarrassment but I still at. "This is wonderful." I muttered, my mouth stuffed with egg and toast. Y/N raised his brows and leaned forward. "Oh, I'm sorry, what was that dear Alex?" I growled at him. "I said that this is...passable." Y/N barked out another laugh. "Oh passable hm? That isn't what I am seeing right now..." he pointed to how much I've already eaten.

"Fine. You are...a splendid cook." Y/N beamed. "Thank you." Y/N had already eaten some and was kindly waiting to see me finish. I sighed. "Y/N I still apologize for sleeping in and not being a good host." Y/N shook his head. "It's really alright. Besides, after last night, I wanted you to...wake up with a pleasant surprise." Y/N admitted bashfully. I looked at him slightly shocked. He was being so kind. I looked down at my food with great gratitude. "Well, thank you. Not just for this..."

Y/N came and took my plate and gave me a smile. "Of course." I watched him tidy up (since he kept smacking my hands away and firmly telling me 'no') and my heart was growing warm. His H/C hair was still slightly messed from sleep, but his nice E/C eyes were large and awake. His sleeping clothes were slightly too large for him, and it looked nice. "Alex?" I shook my head and looked at him. He was looking back at me expectantly. I blushed. "Oh, pardon me. W-What did you say?" "I asked if the breakfast was truly alright." I nodded. "Oh, yes. It was really wonderful. Thank you."

Y/N smiled and continued to pick up the last of the mess...

A few hours after breakfast I went to my writing desk and began some papers. Washington needed specific essay drafts due next week, so I needed to work on them. I had began my fourth page when I heard the quite singing. 'Hm?' I slowed my writing and listened a little harder. Yes, it was definitely singing.

I set down my quill and walked towards the sound. As I got closer, the sound became more clear and I realized that it was actually very nice singing. I stood close by the threshold to the sitting room, listening quietly. I peeped around the corner and spotted Y/N lounging on a couch and reading. Whilst reading he was singing our little random notes. No words in particular. Just pleasant singing. I smiled in surprise. 'How many surprises can this man contain?' After A moment I stepped out. "That is really lovely."

Y/N looked as if he were ready to jump out of his skin. He looked at me wildly and gasped. "Alex! Why were you- did you-." Y/N's face was red and I basked in it. I fought hard to repress my grin. "Oh did I startle you? Apologies. I just wanted to listen." Y/N flushed again. He put the book over his face and groaned. "I hate you Alexander." I gasped in mock hurt. "Hate is such a strong word, Y/N." Y/N chuckled. "Oh shut up." We both began to laugh, and continued talking about the book he was reading.

And his singing...

——- A (slightly larger) time skip ——-

It had taken some arguing and persuasion, but I was able to convince Y/N to let me make dinner. "Alex you've been working all day and I am still here to take care of you and to see you well!" I smiled at Y/N and set preparations for dinner. "Please relax Y/N, I'm not deathly sick or weak. I can make dinner for myself."

Y/N still looked displeased as he eyed how I cute the potatoes. I stoped and sighed. "Fine. Would it satisfy you if I let you help me cook?" With no other words Y/N was by my side and helping cut other vegetables. In my cutting my mind started to drift back to yesterday. I remember how he sang to me, although I hadn't recognized how well he was actually singing. Just hearing his voice yesterday was calming.

I flushed with embarrassment. He treated me as a mother would with her child. 'Well, perhaps I needed it.' The cold and fear that was coursing through me before he had came melted away, and I felt nice and warm with him pressed against me. I was so surprised how...secure I felt with him.

It was a feeling I hadn't felt in sometime.

I remember I wanted to thank him, and make an excuse to try and explain myself out of that embarrassing situation. But when I had looked up at him, he looked so concerned. He looked at me like I was the most important thing in that moment. And that's why I had froze. His E/C eyes had locked me in and I was speechless.

I had gripped his shirt then. I wanted to just lay my head back down, curl back into him and stay there. I wanted to lean in, just a few more inches, and-

"Oh, Alex!" I jumped and dropped the knife. Y/N set the knife aside and gave me a scolding look. "Alex! You almost cut your finger off." 'I let my thoughts run away with me again.' I shook my head. "Oh, apologies Y/N. I was...thinking about some paper work I needed done. I wasn't focused." Y/N took my hands in theirs and gave them a look.

I marveled at how comfterable he was to take my hand in his, and recognized how rough his farmer hands were. I flushed and pulled away. "Y/N! I'm not a child you need to take care of!" Y/N blinked at me in surprise, then sighed and turned back around.

He took the potatoes and dropped them in the bubbling water. "I'm taking over now. Just go sit down and relax." I felt like arguing was no use, so I went back to my seat and just sat. I watched him work. 'Whatever this is will soon drive me mad...'

——A time skip——-

Y/N did (yet again) another wonderful job at cooking. We both ate the food happily and in silence. 'I should apologize for the way I behaved...' I swallowed my pride and spoke up. "Y/N, I apologize for how I yelled at you a moment ago. It was ungrateful, especially since you have been helping me so much." 'More than you know.'

Y/N looked me in the eye for a moment, and then smirked. "Oh what's this? An apology from the Alexander Hamilton? I am flattered!" I smirked back. 'All is forgiven.' "Oh shut up Y/N." We both laughed and started back our teasing.

It didn't take us long to finish our dinners, and soon the elephant was in the room. 'Y/N needs to go back home.' Once we finished cleaning we both sort of paused for a moment. Y/N spoke first. "I have enjoyed this day with you Alexander, but I think I must return back to my own abode now." I wanted to beg him to stay so badly, just to tell him to not leave. 'But I am no child and Y/N really needs to go home.'

I put on a smile and gave him a tight hug. "Thank you Y/N." He hugged me back and we lingered to each other longer than necessary. He grabbed his clothes and looked at me one last time. "I will see you soon Alex." I waved and smiled. "Alright. Goodbye!" I watched him walk away until he was out of my sight and shut the door.

I turned around and faced a now empty house. Everything was quite, and dull. I frowned deeply and started to prepare for bed. I ignored the small ache in my chest, and slid into bed for a nights sleep...
