You found yourself sitting yet again at Alexander's table. You have kindly tried to persuade him into letting you go home, but every time he strongly refused. So here you were. You both ate in comfortable silence, yesterday's dispute not really an issue any more.

You swallowed some [insert a nice breakfast food] and looked at Alex. "So, when am I allowed to leave and go home?" Alex gave you a playful glance and looked back down at his plate. "Oh I don't know. When you are able to keep your feisty, irrational fighting fists under control, maybe then?" You laughed and raised your eyebrows. "Fighting fists?" Alex laughed and pointed his fork at you. "Shut up. I am associated with high, political figures. I can kill you in my own home and cover it up like it was nothing." You rolled your eyes and smirked. "Oh sure, I would love to see you try."

Alex and you connected eyes for a brief moment then burst into hearty laughter. You took a sip of [insert a nice breakfast drink] and tried to settle yourself. "Oh god Alex you are a crazy man..." you giggled as you stood to collect your plate. Alex had finally settled down along with you. "Oh, I am a crazy man? Sure, alright tell everyone that 'Mad Alex' is a crazy man come to steal your children and beer." You made a loud guffaw. "Children and beer? Those two specifically?" You crossed your arms and leaned by the sink.

Alex stood and gathered his own plate and cup. "Yes." He came beside you and put his plate in the sink. He looked at you and smirked. "And I might be tempted to steal other...goods along the way." You fought down a harsh blush and forced a light-hearted chuckle. "Oh? What goods?" Alex winked. "Women, of course." Your stomachs did a small sad pang. You laughed. "Oh right, pardon my ignorance." You smiled and leaned off of the counter.

You were about to just head up to your room to read or find another way to persuade Alex to let you go, when you felt a hand land on your elbow. "Hold on, would you like to go out today?" You turned and looked at Alex. "What?" Alex shrugged. "I mean it's a nice day, and I have a few errands to run myself. And since I don't want you going home yet-" You groaned annoyedly out loud at his comment. Alex huffed. "Look I believe it would be fun. Are you coming or do I have to force you?"

You hid your giddy excitement and assumed a nonchalant and slightly offended. "Alex I do not need a baby-sitter-" "Hm. Doubtful dear friend." Alex smirked and you glared at him. Finally, you finally cracked a small smile. "Fine. Yes let's go." Alex clapped your back and smiled wide. "Great! I'll go change."

He rushed off and you thought of your ugly, worn and smelly suite upstairs. You grunted. "I guess I'll just...change as well."

***********

Thankfully before you both had left the house Alex had picked out a different suite for you. You snagged a carriage and you both hopped in and rode along peacefully. You noticed his satchel for the first time. You pointed to it. "So what errands are you running?" Alex shrugged slightly. "I need to run by the market, drop off some papers-" he patted the satchel. "and maybe go shopping for a new part suite. Since the best one I gave you ended up being ruined." You blushed bashfully. "I'm sorry." Alex smiled. "No its alright. I was wanting a new one anyways."

You nodded and looked out of the window. The busy, overflowing streets made you nervous. You hated tightly packed crowds. It made you feel like you were suffocating. 'This isn't like back home' The random thought made you unintentionally tense. Your mind slipped back to home in Alabama. Unwillingly you thought back to the business, to your family...

"How can you do this to us?! After all we have given to you, you decide to just say no?" Fathers booming voice made your hands shake a little bit. You looked at your mother pleadingly, but she wasn't looking at either of you. You faced your father again. "But father I-" "No buts. You are going to take this family business and you are going to stay here. AM I UNDERSTOOD?" You growled and balled your fist. "No." He blinked incredulously. "What did you-" "I SAID NO!" You screamed back.

Your father fixed you with a glare. "Fine boy. Then leave." Your heart tripped over itself then broke. You blinked back the tears. "Fine." Your mother stood from her chair. "No, y/n, please honey!" You ignored her as you stuffed your own clothes, cash, and other belongings in a suitcase. "Honey, just listen to me. He'll come around just give him time-." You turned to her and hugged her. "Mother, I've given him my whole life. I can't do this anymore." She pulled back and grew quiet. What was left of your heart broke a little more at the sad sad look she had.

"Y/N?" Your little sister had walked in the room. You frowned and picked her up gently. Her bottom lip was trembling. "The boys are scaring me. Are you leaving?" You sighed and cradled her close. "It's alright. I may be gone for a while, but I'll come back someday." She started to cry. "No! Y/N!" You set her down and turned away before you lost all control and start to cry yourself. You shouldered your bag and ran out of the house, heading for the train station...

You rubbed your thumb together with your finger, trying to sooth yourself. You couldn't think about this now. You did not feel like crying. Especially not while out on a day with Alex. You drew your eyes away from the window.

"Are we almost there yet?" Alex nodded. "Yes. We are. I'll tell him to stop here." Alex turned and yelled at the driver to stop. The carriage slowed to a halt and we climbed out of it. After paying we set on our way. "So grocery's or papers first?" Alex tapped his chin. "Well the papers may take longer, so let's swing by the market first." You let Alex lead you down several turns and streets until you both found your destination.

You sort of hung back behind Alex and let him do his shopping. We were at a spices cart Alex was looking at with hard concentration. "Um, is there a problem Alex?" He looked at me and then handed me his list. "I was wanting to make [whatever dish you like] tonight, but I forgot what type of spices I need for it." Knowing this particular dish, you instantly grabbed [particular spice], [particular spice], and [particular spice]. "Here, you'll need these." Alex took them and put them in his basket slowly. "How do you know what I need?" You smirked at him and shrugged.

"I used to cook that dish all the time. Also it's one of my favorites." Alex dropped his mouth a little in mock surprise. "You cook?" You scoffed "Yes I cook. Pretty well actually." Alex laughed. "Oh that's sort of cocky. Wouldn't you say?" You shrugged. "Maybe." Alex bumped you lightly. "Well you'll need to prove your skills to me one day." He paused and turned to you with a smirk. "Maybe tonight?" The suggestive remark made your ears turn a little pink. 'I'm being stupid. Stop blushing'. You smirked right back. "Absolutely."

You both laughed and continued on your way...

————— A time skip —————

After the market (which surprisingly took a while) you and Alex headed over to where he needed his papers dropped off. "Alright I'm so sorry to make you wait but I will be gone for a while." You nodded and took a seat on the bench outside of the office. "Of course. Please, take your time I have no where to be thanks to you." You added with a laugh and a wink. Alex tried to repress a smile with an angry look but failed. "Just stay here." You sat silently as he walked into the office.

The building was, sadly, leaning on the boring side. All decor and designs were official and a little bland, but it looked alright. It was nice. There was a small urge within you to get up and look around a little, but you held back. Assuming this is Alex's place of work you didn't want to embarrass him. You jumped a little when you heard a loud door shut fill the stiff silent air. You tried not to gawk as you saw the poofy haired mass of plume walking your way. The tall man noticed you and abruptly stopped and turned to you. "You don't work here." The man stated and looked you up and down.

Your throat went a little dry with intimidation. "No sir, I do not. I am here waiting on a friend." The man quirked a brow. "Oh. Well let me introduce myself. My name is Thomas Jefferson." Something clicked in your mind and you recalled hearing about this gentlemen. The rival to Alex, but the same integrity and intelligence applied. You smiled and stuck your hand out. "Y/N L/N. Its a pleasure." Thomas smiled and shook your hand briefly. "Well I have to go. Business to attend. But it was interesting to meet you as well. Hopefully we can cross paths again...good day sir." You watched him exit the doors. 'How can one person wear so much of an...intense shade of purple?'

"Y/N?" You turned to see Alex standing there. He smiled "I'm all finished here so we can be on our way." You stood and joined him to leave. "While you were dropping off papers I ran into an interesting gentlemen." Alex raised a brow. "Oh? Who?" You debated a bit in your mind if this news would upset Alex at all, since they have a reputable hatred for one another. 'Oh well.' "A man named Thomas Jefferson." You visibly could see Alex tense. He seemed to force a smile anyways. "Oh?" You laughed internally. 'Well this is an amusing reaction'.

"Yes." Alex was trying to relax himself. "So what impression do you have of him then?" 'I have to push his buttons a little'. You tried not to smile too wide. "Oh I have a rather good impression with him actually..." you peeped at his face. He was fuming. You pushed a little further. "Yes he and I had a lovely talk. We are hoping to meet up in the future and maybe become nice aquantinces-" "." Alex growled at you. You laughed a little. "What?" Alex gritted his teeth. "No. You...you can be friends with him." You laughed. "Well I don't see why not. I was wanting to invite him over." Alex stepped out in front of you.

"NO! You can't! Thomas Jefferson is an arrogant, loud-mouthed, poofy haired imbecile. And he be friends with you-" You gasped. Alex looked at you confused. "What?" You smiled and crossed your arms. "Alexander Hamilton...are-are you jealous?" Alex's face turned red. "Excuse me?" You laughed. "Alex your face is red! You're jealous of him being friends with me!" Alex growled and turned away from you and started walking. Warmness filled you and a smile planted itself on your lips. "Alex wait up!" You caught up with him. "I am not jealous." He scoffed. You rolled your eyes. "Fine fine. But even if you aren't I just wanted to inform you that I won't be inviting him over anytime soon."

Alex side glanced at you. You shrugged. "The meeting was luke warm and I don't think I will want to be seeing him anytime soon." You noted Alex's small smile. "Oh. Well I'm happy for you." You laughed. Alex laughed a little and smiled at you. He looked like he was about to say something sarcastic when we both bumped into someone. "Oh!" You gasped as you stumbled back a little harshly. You looked up and saw a woman on the ground and immeadietly helped her stand to her feet. "Oh my goodness I am so sorry-" "No its alright." You froze as Eliza wiped off her dress and smiled at you. "Hello again." You smiled back.

"Oh, hello Eliza." Alex brushed himself off beside you. "I am so sorry we bumped into you Eliza. We weren't paying attention." Eliza blushed and dipped her head bashfully. "Oh it's no trouble. You didn't hurt me too much." An aggravating twist turned your stomach into a knot. Eliza piped up again. "Actually I was coming to find you Alexander." Alex blinked. "Oh? What for?" Eliza glanced at you sheepishly. "Well, if your friend wouldn't mind, I would love to perhaps accompany you to lunch today?" Something saddened in you to see him smile. "Well that sounds lovely. I don't see why Y/N wouldn't mind. Correct?" He turned to you.

You smiled with a closed lip. "That's fine with me. Enjoy yourself." Alex paused before taking Eliza's arm. "Oh, and will you please wait for me ho-...erm I mean my house?" 'Did he almost tell me to go home? What does that mean?' You nodded. "Of course." You turned on your heel and started back towards Alex's home. You sighed. "Well, today was almost a wonderful day..."
