《When I Met You(Gakuen Alice fanfic)》Chapter 25: My decision

Previously on When I Met You...
"Everyone that I have lost, has left me many things. I still do have things to protect, things to love. I still have a reason to live in this world."
Mikan.
I went down on my knees, I leaned my head against the table and resisted to cry again. What was she doing? Did she purposely call me or butt-dial? I tried to hold back the chuckle and my face came back to being serious. No matter how incredibly dumb she acted in the past, this was by far an intelligent move. Now, we just had to save her from there.
.....
I listened closely. Come on Mikan, tell me where you are...
""
"" Mikan argued.
"Even your own dream of becoming a singer?"
"She said, in distress. I wanted to hug her so badly but there was no way I could do it right now.
"I could give you back your voice. Isn't that worth something?"
She paused but I knew she would never agree to something like that. I didn't understand though... How could he offer her voice back? He didn't steal it did he?
"" She snapped.
"" I had to give him some credit, he was good a persuading anyone.
""
I looked back and raised my brows at Aoi who was just as confused. How come I didn't see this in the flashbacks that mother had given me?
""
I swallowed hard. I stood up quickly.
""
I didn't understand. Did the Principal just say that Mikan's Alice is what kept Aoi alive? How?
"Yes, I could kill you and then everything could go as planned. But you know that once you die, your Alice will be transferred into another being, and when that happens... I'll be there to get it. It's the most powerful Alice in history! How could I stand by and watch as it goes to waste, just as you and your mother have wasted it to do as you want! I can't stand people like you!"

"She suddenly said. My heart dropped and I knew she was in more danger. ""
A smiled crept on my face and that was it, I placed my jacket back around my body and pulled the hoodie back up. I was going to save Mikan, but I still didn't know where she was.
"You ugly woman!!!" He said along with other curse words. ""
I took the phone with me and raced down the halls as quietly as I could. I could hear Imai call the others to come back to her room and the conversation continued.
""
I stopped in my track and my eyes fell to the floor. I still hadn't told her that the whole reason I took care of her, was to assassinate her. How did she know? Don't tell me...
""
""
"Bah! I can use him against you. Hand that Alice over to me and I will release both him and his sister."
I stood still as my hands quivered with the phone.
She knew the whole time...
From the very first day that we met...
""
I knew something had been going on... there was more to Mikan that I didn't know about. I thought about the many things she'd done before and what it would have to do with what she was talking about. She obviously had more Alice's than I expected. All I knew was that she had the Nullification, Stealing, and Insertion Alice. Clearly, she possessed many more that was beyond my knowledge.
""
"What's this? Have you been recording this the whole time-?" His voice roared. Then I heard some struggling from Mikan who was whining. ""
Someone coughed out viciously, and a splattering noise rang in my ears.
Then the line cut just like that. My eyes widened in fear as I closed the phone and shoved it in my pocket. I ran hard, not stopping to breath and I finally landed in front of the office. I opened the door without knocking for the first time.

Only complete darkness could be seen, I flicked the lights and aimed the gun I had kept in my pocket.
The Principal gripped Mikan by the neck. Her face had turned purple and red, from lack of circulation. He grinned out painfully.
"How nice of you to show up..." He grit his teeth. I aimed my gun carefully.
"Let go of her." I warned, trying to maintain my breath. I felt nervous and adrenaline ran in my blood.
"I knew you couldn't do it. You've never had the guts to do something like killing a girl." Blood stained Mikan's mouth and I knew she was the one who had coughed a moment ago. I don't know what happened but Mikan was trying to fight back.
"Let go of her!!" I cried. Mikan was struggling, clawing, and spitting at his arm that clutched her like a rag-doll. "You're hurting her!!"
"Hyuuga!" Imai called through my ear buds. "Be rational, we have to be careful! Or, you'll end up killing the both of them!"
I ignored her and faced my enemy. I thought about how wonderful it'd feel if he died. About how much life could be enjoyed once he was gone. Tears fell silently as I pointed my gun straight for his head.
"Natsume don't... do... it..." Mikan muttered while struggling, "That won't... change a... thing..."
"What am I supposed to do?" I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and sniffed. I wrapped my finger around the trigger and shook. "All he's done is brought evil into our worlds. He's taken away our happiness. When he's gone, we can finally sleep in peace, we won't have to worry about the next day. I can finally walk down the street without caring about someone threatening me. I won't have to carefully look around when I take Aoi to school. I won't have to kill anyone anymore."
"You've finally been given a fair choice, Natsume. I thought you didn't want to kill anyone anymore."
"He'll keep on using us. Don't you want him to die, Mikan? He took everything from you! Why do you keep on dealing with him like this? Aren't you tired of it?!"
"OF COURSE I'M TIRED OF IT! I hate him!!!" She sobbed, "I WANT TO KILL HIM MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE IN THE WORLD!!!" She coughed out and her eyes turned dark, "...But... I would be the same as him. If I killed him... I'd be a murderer too..." I widened my eyes at her reasoning, she was always right.
She fell unconscious and her arms dropped to her sides. I let out a shriek, "MIKAN!!" but I kept my aim on him. I glared at him with as much tolerance that I had left.
"I'll let you and your sister go if you let me kill her." The Principal smirked and I laughed out bitterly.
"I'm done making deals with you." His face dropped as he watched my fingers dance.
I shot the trigger.
