"mommy! daddy!" joonwoo yells, excited to see both me and changkyun. we both smile at him, even though we were already hurting inside. prior to us picking up joonwoo, we had texted joonwoo's parents to drive back to their house since we found joonwoo.

"joonwoo..." changkyun responds. "we missed you. how was your trip?" i can hear the pain in his voice, the sadness was written all over it.

"it was great! we went on hikes, we had picnics and i shared tents with some of the friends i had made. we made sure that we had s'mores every single night and sang campfire songs. you guys should've been there! it was so amazing! but most of all, we all talked about our parents. i made sure i talked about the both of you and how much i love you."

i felt the urge to cry, that lump in my throat kept getting bigger. holding myself back, i have him a hug... that last hug i will ever give him.

"mommy, why are you crying?" he asks, seeing my tears fall out of my eyes. i laughed it off and said that i missed him a lot. joonwoo pats me on the shoulders and telling me that he's here now and that everything's going to be great.

"joonwoo, let's go on a trip!" changkyun says, picking joonwoo up and placing him on his shoulders.

"yey, a trip! where are we going?"

"home." changkyun tells him.
