time - 9:30 PM

day - january 23rd

it's cold, my thoughts poured out. sauntering about was one huge mistake. the moon, illuminates into the night. and, my apartment.. was a mere half an hour away from my current location.

one could unambiguously handle this sort of weather.

thereafter the endless amounts of striding down the tenebrous and musky streets, an imposing miracle arrives.

a diner was adjacent to the street. the place was not grand, nor luxurious. it appeared plain, however had a solace aura. my dainty feet, numb from the cold, started walking towards the direction of the diner.

before i was aware, i was faced in front of the door. my hands turned the knob and strolled in.

soon, i was addressed with "good evenings" and "welcomes" by the chefs behind the counters. in return, my voice greets them sincerely.

it occurred to me that there were only several customers. my feet perched on the same spot for at least a few more seconds until a voice called out.

"mommy...?" quickly, my head turns to every direction in search for the owner of this small, faint voice.

it can't be me... right?

to my surprise, the voice is possessed by a charming, little boy. he may be around 4 or 5 years of age. and he was looking right at me, with tears falling down his eyes.

"i... i found mommy!"

this issue can't be mistaken, for i did not bear any children throughout the past 23 years of my life. a person such as myself can't be a mother...

maybe he's mistaken, a pure consciousness of mine thought. maybe the kid is lost...

in a sudden heartbeat, a man who appeared to be around his 20's came over and tapped the little kid on the shoulder. the man squats down so he was at the same height level with the little boy. the kid glanced back at him and continued to grin purely.

"joonwoo, don't run away from me, i was worried where you went off to."

"i... i found her, i found mommy.."

the man gave a confusing look and gazed up at me, and gave a faint smile, almost appeared like a frown. he stands up, while holding joonwoo's hand.

"i'm... im changkyun." he holds out his other hand towards me, and i shook his hand.

".... i'm lee jiyeon."

"you guys are so formal with each other, silly mommy and daddy."

our eyes beheld one other, incognizant of what to do. all that was contemplated in my thoughts were what to declare towards the little boy.

"joonwoo.. go sit at our booth, i will talk to your mommy for a short moment. will you do that for me?"

"okay, daddy. you lovebirds have fun!"

the little boy, joonwoo, skipped back to their booth. the smile almost looked lighthearted, as if he discovered a missing subject in his life... and my heart never felt this melancholy before.
