《REACH || yoo kihyun》XXXIV

Naha turned on her heel and staggered backwards into the room, Arena jumping up to make sure she stayed on her feet. She barely managed to grab hold of Naha's white shirt before the girl made skin to skin contact with their carpet.
Kihyun stood up at the familiar voice. If he had been spooked before at the sight of Naha looking over them, then right now staring at Wonho in the exact same place, in the exact same position almost made his heart stop.
"Wonho, what the hell," cursed Naha and patted Arena's shoulder gratefully for keeping her upright.
"Did you follow me?"
***
Naha strode out of the hotel room, leaving her bored friend behind to watch cheesy kdramas 4 hours earlier. She adjusted her blue handbag that kept falling over her shoulder and annoying her. Naha had opted to wear a white dress shirt that she had neatly tucked into a polite pair of black pants. She went for the casual but formal outfit, the pants enhancing her hips.
Naha walked out of the huge front doors to the hotel, Kihyun walking swiftly past her, heading inside at the very same time. She hadn't noticed the young man stepping out of Jaehyun's car minutes before she had stepped into it herself. Naha crossed her legs on the backseat, slight anxiety starting to creep under her pale skin as she watched the magnificent city of Seoul flash by her eyes during the entire drive.
As the anxiety grew in the pit of her stomach, the drive seemed to be dragging on awfully slow. Naha took a deep breath, exercising it by counting to 4 when breathing in and 8 when breathing out. It slowed down and calmed her thundering heartbeat that had been loud and fast enough for her to physically hear through her chest. Naha was approximately 70 strong precent sure that Jaehyun could hear it from where he was sat comfortably in his driver's seat.
"Are you alright, Miss?" asked Jaehyun, his curious eyes flicking to the view finding mirror of the car, giving him a straight look of Naha sitting on the back seat. Her hands were slightly shaking as she answered with a try hard calm voice. Her eyes found him in the mirror, his eyes shielded behind a pair of very dark almost black sunglasses. Naha's voice trembled, even if it was something she worked very hard to hide
"I am a little nervous, thank you for asking." Naha closed her eyes and leaned back her head against the seat, Jaehyun's eyes already back on the road ahead of them once again. "I believe it will be quite alright," said Jaehyun, his tone light and floating. Naha smiled to herself and quietly muttered a thank you. Her fingers ached for her mobile phone, wanting to text Arena to find comfort in her. But she knew she mustn't bother her friend when she was trying to relax after the tough weeks behind her.
Being friends meant someone who you could share your thoughts and feelings with. Relax and be yourself no matter what was the case. Someone who made you feel good about yourself and someone who you could trust and more importantly, someone you could lean on.
Being best friends meant putting them before yourself. Sacrificing your own needs for them. Knowing how mentally exhausted your friend was meant leaving them be when you felt like chatting to blow off some steam or gather encourage. Arena had sacrificed many things in the past and present for Naha. Maybe even more that she should have, just for the sake of her best friend.

And now Naha was going to battle the demons inside herself, not contacting Arena for the sake of her health and good mentality. Of course Arena would be pissed at Naha for even thinking that way, for thinking that Naha's anxiety was a burden for her and that she should always share her troubles with her no matter what because that's what friendship was.
But Naha knew very well that she needed to overcome this herself without Arena's words to lead her on. Because one day. Even if it was a 100 years from now, then one moment, Arena wouldn't be by her side anymore and she'd be all alone. Naha had to be strong for Arena. Naha had to be confident for herself. And she could share everything that was to come with Arena when she got back to her.
Naha took a deep breath, exhilarated at the feel of oxygen flowing through her lungs and blood. It made her head dizzy with fresh air. She planted one foot in front of the other as she strode out of her carriage and towards the house that held the future of her, Arena, Kihyun and Wonho.
Her heels clicked on the pavement where thin snow had already melted away, leaving only the memory and whisper of the white, ice cold substance behind. The door opened, revealing the lobby. Naha didn't know which direction was the correct one, so she confidently walked to the lobby desk, adjusting her handbag on her shoulder. A kind smile was plastered on her dewy face, hiding the nervousness she felt deep to her core.
"Hello, I had an appointment with the CEO," smiled Naha, leaving her weight onto her right hip. Her toes were freezing in her shoes, the edges slowly starting to dig into the skin of her feet. The saying that beauty demands sacrifice clashed around in her head, making her resist the urge of tugging off her stilettos and walking on barefoot with them shoes tangling from her fingers.
"Ah yes," the administrator didn't rise from her seat as she answered politely to Naha in perfect English. Naha was impressed, nodding when the administrator spoke again. Even though Naha could understand and speak Korean, Japanese, English and French she for some reason had greeted the woman in English. That many languages in your head at once can make it confusing and mess with you a little. The moment you can't remember a particular word, your brain fills the blank with the same word but from another language.
This was the reason why Naha sometimes accidentally spoke to Arena in mixmatched sentences.
"Miss Naha Hatashi?" her voice was sweet and charming, her raven black hair swishing as she turned her head. She continued when she saw Naha nod and gave her a small smile in return, "The CEO is waiting for you in his office, take the elevator to the 3rd floor and the door will have rectangular sign with the name "대표님" on it." Her white teeth flashed from behind her red lips as she smiled once more, pointing towards the elevators that were a few feet to Naha's right.
Naha bowed her head, thanking the administrator and quickly made her way to the elevators, pressing one of the buttons with an arrow pointing upward. She chewed on her red lip anxiously, tapping the nose of her shoe on the floor impatiently, waiting for that elevator to just get here so she could just get over with this damned meeting and back into the arms of her comfort.

The numbers above the elevator showed that it was nearing. The elevator was coming up from what Naha thought must have been the basement floors, since she could see the numbers changing from -1 to 0. At last the two doors slided apart and Naha let out a deep breath, readying herself to step inside.
She was one foot in through the door, her eyes kept focused on the path in front of her. As the clicking of her heels stopped and she was safely inside the elevator did she think to raise her eyes and look around.
If Naha had opened her eyes sooner, she would have turned the other way and taken the stairs. But she had been so caught up with just getting inside the metal contraption that when the doors opened, all Naha could think about was stepping inside.
Wonho's cold eyes were glaring straight through her as Naha's own widened from surprise, shock and familiarity. Her body acted on its own accord, Naha taking a step back, her eyes still glued to the man in front of her. The back of her leg connected with the closed door of the elevator, making her realize that she was stuck inside.
"Umhh.." said Naha and looked around, starting to press the button for floor 3 before realizing it was already lit up. Wonho had been on his way from the gym back up to the 3rd floor, the elevator had stopped on the ground floor because Naha had pressed the button to go up.
"Why are you here?" said Wonho, disbelief loud and clear in his voice. Naha let her eyes roam him with no ounce of shame, noticing that he was wearing knee high shorts with a loose tank top that complimented his well build body perfectly. His light blonde hair was still wet, sweat dripping down the sides of his face. Wonho raked a hand through his hair, revealing his forehead. He eyed the girl who had moved to stand beside him. The look in his eyes was indescribable.
Naha grinned, not looking at Wonho and took a dark lipstick with a small compact mirror out of her handbag that had again fallen over her shoulder. "Wouldn't you like to know," said Naha, fixing her lipstick that had come off from biting her lip. She closed the mirror with a clasp, pushing it back into her bag and the bag back up onto her shoulder, Naha holding it place.
"Naha," groaned Wonho dangerously, rolling his eyes at her stubborness, knowing deep down that he still had a soft spot for the girl. She glanced at him, their dark eyes meeting. Wonho's had become dark and shaded and he was looking at her, his mouth a straight line.
"What?" Naha's smile was full of venom, "wasn't it you who said they didn't want anything to do with me anymore?"
A loud ding went through the space, the elevator doors opening as Naha strode out, her hips swaying as she held onto the handbag with her life.
"I never said anything like that," snarled Wonho through his teeth and shook his head, walking out after her, his eyes still on her figure. Naha was gorgeous, he wasn't going to deny it. He had a feeling her hips were moving more than usual, on purpose.
[THIS GIF AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA it fits perfectly with the story, the outfit the hair and attitude someone save me i'm-]
Naha knew how Wonho felt about her. There was no way a crush of 3 months would disappear within the timespan of a week. Perhaps she was trying to awaken a response in him, as she still herself did not know what her feelings were. Naha flicked her hair over her shoulder sassily, stopping in front of the door to the CEO's office. Wonho's jaw tightened a few feet away from her, the look in her eyes changing as she raised her knuckles to knock on the door gently.
He pursed his lip at the thought of her breathtaking light blue hair color, reminding him of the opaque bright blue it had been the first time he saw her. He paused in his tracks, the memory gliding over him like a warm blanket. He could still clearly remember the feel of her small soft hands in his hair as she had washed it in their hotel room. "Why are you making me do this?" Naha had asked suspiciously, threading her shampoo'y fingers through what had been his light brown strands. Wonho had only smirked smartly to himself as he had answered her calmly, making her heart jolt. "It's been a long time since a gorgeous girl has been this close to me, I plan to not let it go to waste." Naha had blushed violently, her burgundy cheeks hidden from Wonho's view as his head had been in the sink.
The sound of an opening door brought him back to the reality. Naha's legs wobbled slightly as it did, her breath hitching and nausea rising in the back of her throat. She glanced nervously at Wonho, her eyes full of terror that hadn't been there before. Oh hell yeah she was nervous. His eyes widened at the sight of her with his legs already moving, taking long smooth strides to reach her. The look had shaken him, his tough demeanor swept off him, the urge to protect her overpowering all of his common sense.
"Naha."
She gulped loudly, her throat moving and whispered, "Help me." Her dark kohl lined eyes were glossy and shining, the light in them occasionally flickering as she saw him advance at her. Wonho could read the words from her lips, the same lips that hid behind them a brilliant smile that made him dizzy and wonder if he really was losing his mind. Suddenly Naha was sucked into the room, the door closing behind her with a loud thud as the clicking of her dangerously high heels disappeared into the room. Leaving Wonho breathing hard, standing before the closed door.
***
"What's going on?" asked Arena, her big hazel eyes filled with curiosity as the tall blonde man stood before them. Kihyun could sense her voice laced with a small amount of anxiety, for what if something was terribly wrong. He placed a warm encouraging hand onto her lower back from where he was standing to her right. The sudden act of intimacy made shivers run down her back as Naha eyed Wonho out of the corner of her eye.
He took off his shoes, striding to stand next to Naha, heat radiating between them. Arena wasn't aware of what had happened to them in the few hours Naha had been gone, why Wonho had followed her back to the hotel and into their room and if something had happened. Wonho sighed leaning his head against the wall, closing his eyes for a second. Naha's eyes brightened as she looked away, swallowing hard.
"Did you tell them?" asked Wonho quietly, his question directed at Naha. The girl turned her face back toward him, biting the inside of her mouth silently. She shook her head. It mad Wonho sigh as he looked at the ceiling, Arena and Kihyun's raised eyebrows calculating both of their emotions. Kihyun's arm slipped around her waist as she leaned into him, Kihyun pressing a silent kiss against her temple.
"You haven't checked the media in the last few hours, have you?" rumbled Wonho stretching his legs. Arena let out a deep breath, her patience running to an end. "No we haven't. So what? Why are you here and what are you hiding from us?" Kihyun's hand tightened on her waist, his fingers digging into her soft skin.
Us
Arena continued, not paying attention to what she had just said out loud, "Will you please just sit down and say what's going on? I think my heart is about to burst from unknowingness. Just tell us!"
Naha sat down behind the dressing table, her hands dangling over the seat. Her fingers indicated for Wonho to sit your fine ass down before Arena started kicking all of them. She started.
"I went to meet with the CEO and what he said to me was actually kind of surprising. At least it wasn't what I'd expected. I'd gone in absolutely terrified and almost lost my footing as I had stepped onto the carpet that had lined the office floor," she chuckled at her own clumsiness, Wonho winced remembering the silent terror that had taken over Naha's features as she had stood in the hallway.
"Anyway I went inside, I greeted him, I sat down and then he started talking. He asked about me and what I do and if I were to be hired by the company then why would they choose me. It was kind of like a job interview, but I didn't know what job I was even being interviewed for. I mean..I tried to leave a good impression, I think I might have but he still said that they'll contact me again."
She stopped and stayed silent, Arena's brow creasing as she looked at them, "Wait, so that's it? They didn't tell you anything more?" Wonho swallowed, not saying a word, glancing to look at Naha, their eyes meeting.
Kihyun rolled his eyes, "You're leaving something out."
Naha pursed her lips, letting Wonho continue. "I was on my way up from the elevators when I saw Naha. After she went into the office I ran to our studio to get my stuff, I waited for her outside, " Arena gasped, her sensual lips forming a small smile. Kihyun squeezed her hand, keeping a grin off his face.
Naha kept her eyes down.
"When she came out she looked, I don't know how to describe it. The look on her face was like a mixture of relief and then again it wasn't complete relief, I think there was a piece of her still feeling unnerved. I asked if I could accompany her back to the hotel room, but she said she'd be fine."
Naha coughed, Wonho had left out the part where he had grabbed her wrist and dragged her into the bathroom, locking them inside for a good 10 minutes. Naha now knew the feel of her hands around his neck and his lips on hers. The moment of lost control, of burning desire had taken over them both, the sparks flying from her eyes as he had held her waist flush against his own. Naha had scrambled out of the bathroom quickly, realizing what she'd done, Wonho feeling disappointed at the fact of not being able to resist. He hadn't been able to get over her. The thought of her lipstick smeared on his chin made him shiver.
"If she said, she'd come alone..then why did you still follow her?"
Wonho snapped out of his thoughts, "Huh? Oh right. I saw something." He pulled his iPhone out of the pocket of his jeans, scrolling intently before handing the phone to Kihyun.
On there was a screenshot he'd taken of an article.
"Dispatch reveals : Monsta X main vocal Kihyun rumored to be dating an unknown girl."
Arena leaned over his shoulder to see the screen. Her stomach flipped 100000 times as Kihyun's eyes widened, his finger zooming in on the picture attached. Kihyun was clearly visible on the picture, a cap and hoodie covering his features. The same clothes he had worn to come to the hotel. The girl walking past him on the photo wore black suit pants, her light blue hair spilling over her shoulders.
Arena's voice shook as she spoke,
"Naha?"
