《REACH || yoo kihyun》IV

"This is utterly insane," said Arena and looked back at Naha from the corner of her eye.
"Stop. This is an amazing opportunity" replied Naha and looped her hand through Arena's.
Arena cringed, "I'm still not sure about this. It doesn't sound real. Something like this would never happen."
Naha rolled her eyes and nudged Arena in the ribs with her elbow, "You have been saying this for the past 6 hours, let's just go and see, shall we?"
Arena bit her lip. She was walking out of school with Naha, who tried to convince Arena to go meet Kihyun. He had written his hotel name, and the time which he'll be waiting for her in the lobby. Which was supposed to be at 6 p.m. so in 3 hours. Honestly, Arena was nervous. She was still wondering, if she was even going to go. These things only happened in movies. And Idols never ever wrote things like this to their fans. How did Kihyun know he can even trust her? He must be mental. And why her?
Why?
"Earth to Arena!" Naha was waving a hand in front of Arena's face and she snapped out of her thoughts.
"Do you wanna go get some coffee or something?" asked Naha and raised an eyebrow. She was a little jealous of Arena for getting that note, but also happy for her. And no way was she going to let her go there alone. What if she herself could have a chance to talk with Wonho?
Arena looked at her boots, which were covered in snow. She raised her eyes to meet Naha and nodded. With nodding her glasses slid a little down her nose so she reached up to adjust them. Naha smiled and they walked to their cars.
Arena didn't end up getting her morning coffee so stopping at Starbucks (like a real white girl woulds) with Naha was a dream come true. They found a window seat and sat down with their drinks.
Naha was looking for hand sanitizer so she could eat her cookie.
Arena raised an eyebrow. "You know the bathroom is not far right?"
"Yes, but I like hand sanitizer, and it's not like I was shoveling dirt with my hands that I need to go and give them a good ol' washing" said Naha and grinned.
Arena giggled and stood up. "Well, I'm still going to go and wash my hands the old fashioned way."
"Suit yourself," said Naha and took a bite of her cookie.
Arena shook her head smiling and opened the bathroom door. She washed her hands, dried them and then nudged the door open with her boot. For obvious reasons [If you're a clean freak like me, you know that opening the door with your hands after washing them is a big no no.]
Walking out of the bathroom and sitting down again, facing Naha, made Arena come to a decision.
"Let's do it. The meeting. Let's do it."
Naha, who obviously was surprised at Arena's sudden decision almost choked on her drink. She set down her cup and coughed a little. Arena sat still and quiet until Naha regained her breath.
"For real?" asked Naha excitedly.
Arena nodded and took a sip of her own drink.

They sat chatting and doing homework in Starbucks until it was almost 5.15 p.m.
Arena looked at her watch and then at Naha, who was already looking at her. "Was it 6 p.m.?" asked Arena and Naha answered with a Nod. "Then we need to get going."
The stood up and drove to Arena's house.
Arena's parents weren't home yet so she and Naha went straight up to her room. Arena changed out of her hoodie and put on some makeup. She took off her glasses and put in her contact lenses. Naha who already looked glam sat on Arena's bed and looked at the ceiling.
Arena had luminescent stars on her ceiling, right above the bed.
Soon enough it was time to go and Arena's inside's were twisting themselves in every way possible.
They took Naha's car and Arena left a note on the counter, saying she'll be home late.
"I don't think I can do this," mumbled Arena and looked anxiously at Naha, who was focused on the road.
It was already getting dark outside, since it was 5.40. Arena looked out of her window, still having doubts about all of this. She wanted to know why Kihyun had wrote that and what was his purpose in all of this. Arena didn't even know him like that. I mean yes she knew everything about Kihyun, him being her ultimate bias and all, but still.
Naha seemed calm. Arena wondered how Naha managed that.
In 10 minutes Naha stopped the car, downtown in front of a 10 story hotel. Arena read the name again and the looked up at the hotel to make sure it was the right one.
Naha put a hand on her shoulder and pointed at the name, "See? "Radisson Blue Colorado", we are in the right place." Arena let out a breath and nodded. They stepped out and walked toward the entrance.
No paparazzi nor crazy fans. Must be a good sign.
Naha held the door open for Arena and gave her an encouraging smile. Arena smiled nervously and stepped in, Naha closing the door behind them.
The Radisson Blue Colorado hotel was breathtaking. Arena hadn't been here before but she knew her mom sometimes had conferences held here.
Once you walked in, you could see the huge info desk in front of you, seats and cushions on your right and the elevators and restaurant on your left. The interior was mostly in golden and warm tones. Above the info desk, on the wall were world clocks showing the time in different countries.
Arena cracked her nuckles, something she always did when she was nervous. Like she was now. This was worse than the fanmeeting.
She and Naha were still basically standing in front of the entrance so the moved out of the way and walked over to the info cards, placed next to the info desk, where a woman was sitting, typing something on her computer.
The lobby had people walking through it. People coming and going to the elevators, people coming from the restaurant and going inside the restaurant. It wasn't overly crowded, but there sure was people.
Arena checked the time, 5.59.
She felt like she was going to die.
Arena always struggled with the anxiety of meeting new people and usually having her best friend there helped but this was a new kind of anxiety. Worse than ever before.

"Wow, hey," sounded a voice from behind them that Arena knew all too well.
Arena and Naha turned around to face Kihyun who was leaning onto the info desk. he was wearing a sweater with ripped jeans and his hair was styled high.
He flashed Arena and Naha a smile.
"Ah I remember you! Wonho couldn't stop talking about your hair all day today and yesterday," said Kihyun and smiled another one of his sweet smiles.
Arena and Naha could both speak Korean but it wasn't perfect.
"Hi," they said together and Arena smiled, tucking a strand of her hair behind her ear.
"It's a little too crowded here in the lobby, do you want to go somewhere quiet?" Kihyun's question was more directed towards Arena. He had his phone and was texting someone.
"I texted Wonho saying there's a surprise for him in the lobby, he'll be here soon". Kihyun winked at Naha and suddenly took Arena's hand.
Arena flashed a shocked look and then turned to look at Naha, her eyes wide. Naha gave her a small nod and smile.
"Shall we?" asked Kihyun and started pulling Arena away.
"My room is on the 10th floor and there's not many people there. I know a quiet place."
"It's not your room, is it?" said Arena seriously.
They had reached the elevators and Kihyun pressed the "UP" button.
"No, unless you want to." He smiled again. Arena gulped.
He let go of her hand when they stepped into the elevator. Arena moved as far away from Kihyun as possible. Weird right? Well she was a little scared at the moment.
"Why did you want to meet me? Is this even allowed? Can you bring fans to your hotel? Weren't you worried I'd bring cameras or other fans?" Arena showered him with questions and Kihyun just looked at her.
He shook his head in laughter. "What's so funny?" asked Arena again and crossed her hands on her chest.
"Technically I did meet you for the first time in the gas station. And I'll explain everything to you." Kihyun's voice was calm and.....well nice. She liked his voice.
They got off on the 10th floor and luckily Kihyun didn't reach for her hand again. Because Arena didn't know what she would have done then. They weren't even this close yet. No. Scratch that. They weren't close, period.
Arena walked behind Kihyun as he led the way through the corridors. It was really quiet. He looked over his shoulder once to see if she was still following him.
I don't know about you but for Arena this behavior was weird. Arena was used to watching Kihyun from videos not being up close and personal with him.
She was so lost in thought that she didn't notice when Kihyun stopped and walked right into him. She staggered back, clearly surprised.
"Omg, I'm so sorry, I was lost in thought," said Arena and bowed her head a little. When she lifted her head she saw Kihyun smiling, his hand reached out, ready to take Arena's.
Arena smiled nervously and took it as he led her to one of the couch/chairs.
You know how usually hotels have corridors filled with hotel rooms and in between there are these small cozy places with couches and chairs and TV's? Well they were in one of those now. At the very end of the corridor.
Arena sat down and Kihyun dragged a chair to face her. Arena felt a little uncomfortable.
"I wanted to meet you because I felt like yesterday you escaped from me too quickly. I don't know if this is allowed, nothing like this has ever happened to me or the boys but I do know there are many idols who meet up with specifical fans for..reasons." Kihyun winked.
"What?" Arena's voice was surprised and quiet.
Kihyun leaned back in his seat and crossed his legs. The way men do not the way women cross their legs.
"The answers to your questions you asked in the elevator."
"But why me?" asked Arena and gestured to herself with her right hand.
Kihyun shrugged. "I'm not sure. You left an impression on me after the gas station thing and I was secretly hoping you would come to the concert and fansign. And when you did come you seemed to want to escape quickly from me."
Arena was speechless. "Are you serious?"
Kihyun nodded and half smiled.
Arena looked away. "This is unreal. These things don't happen in real life." She looked back at Kihyun who was studying her.
"Yet you are right here." Kihyun's voice this time was slow and deep.
"Are you kidding? What's the chance of something like this actually happening?" Arena touched her fingers to her temples and closed her eyes.
Kihyun didn't know what to do. He didn't have much experience with these things. From videos and fan signs he might seem like a flirt, but in reality he had never had the chance or the time for these things. In a way he was breaking many rules by bringing this girl here. But for some reason she seemed interesting to him. He didn't know what it was, but he planned on finding out.
Kihyun leaned forward and took Arena's hands. Arena looked at him in the eyes. He had such beautiful eyes.
"Do you know how much I'm actually risking for you right now?" Asked Kihyun quietly. He was still holding Arena's hands. Arena shook her head slowly. A tear escaped from the corner of her eye and she was surprised when Kihyun wiped it away with his thumb.
Arena pulled back. If you were a bystander you'd actually think they were a couple. But they weren't. They didn't even know each other, so Kihyun touching Arena's face was a real shock.
"Sorry, don't be sad. You're here because I want you to be here. Think of this as me wanting to meet up with the beautiful girl from the gas station." Kihyun smiled and Arena replied with a smile herself.
"I still have a hard time believing a star like you would want to meet with someone like me," said Arena.
Kihyun stood up from his seat and sat next to her.
"Well you'd better believe it. Let's start with a simple introduction, because I really don't know that much about you."
"Well, my name is Arena, I'm originally from Northern Europe, I'm turning 18 in a few weeks.." said Arena, but Kihyun stopped her.
"You're 18?"
