~ a few days later ~

there was a sudden knock on the door. kihyun ran to the door and opened it; y/n was there, with a bag of groceries she got before coming to his dorm.

"this is good timing." he told her, walking back to the kitchen. the others went somewhere else to distract jooheon.

"i got the stuff we'll be needing for the pancakes." she put the bag on the counter. kihyun walked over to her and helped her take the food out.

"okay, what are we doing first?" she asked, clapping her hands.

"i started making the fillings for the dumplings. should we do that first?"

"i guess so. what else were you thinking?"

"tteokbokki and steak. but i was thinking of just ordering the tteokbokki from his favorite spicy food restaurant."

"that sounds good. let's do the dumplings first!"

they both walked into the kitchen, first washing their hands. she started to scoop the fillings on the wraps while he folded them.

after they finished, he started to fry them while she got the ingredients for the next dish ready, which was the kimchee pancakes.

"try one, they are finished." he said, giving a dumpling to her. she was washing her hands and had soap on them. she just opened her mouth, and he fed it to her, feeling a little embarrassed by it. she swallowed it after chewing, and a big smile was on her face.

"they're delicious!" she told him, smiling. he just nodded and smiled back, going back to the stove to turn it off. what did i do? he thought to himself, feeling his cheeks get red.

after she wiped her hands with a nearby towel, she started to open the container of kimchee. she ate a big piece and dumped the rest into a bowl that she got from a cabinet. kihyun walked over to her, watching her every move.

"you should teach me at the same time, i would like to learn." he said, leaning his arm on the counter.

"okay, could you pass me an egg?" she asked while adding the other ingredients first. kihyun obeyed, and walked to the fridge to grab it, then gave it to her. she cracked it, then put it in the bowl, whisking the other ingredients she put in earlier.

"then, you chop this." she said, while grabbing the knife and the scallions and started to cut it.

"wait, i'll show you a faster way to cut them." he suggested while standing behind her and putting his hand on hers, guiding her to cut them faster. y/n got startled at first, then let his hand take over hers.

"we have to cut this too." she told him while dumping the bowl of kimchee onto the cutting board. "how did you do it again?"

"like this." he put his hand back on hers again and guided her. she felt a bit flustered and let his hand lead hers.

after they cut the vegetables, she began to mix the ingredients while he started to oil the frying pan.

the two helped each other out, putting the batter onto the pan and flipping them as well.

several minutes later, all the pancakes were cooked perfectly and tasted delicious.

"i think i should start on the dishes while you cook the steak." she recommended, walking over to the sink. he nodded, getting the steak out from the fridge. he grabbed another cutting board but had to get a knife that was close to her body.

"excuse me." he said, walking by her and reaching for the knife that was above her. she was surprised by how close they both were.

"i'll be right back." she excused herself, wiping her hands on her towel and walked quickly to the bathroom. after hearing the bathroom door lock, he sighed and wiped his forehead with his hand.

"what's with me?" he asked himself, feeling embarrassed and hot. the feeling that he had a while ago was coming back to him, but he was still confused about how he felt.

she came back from the bathroom, and he just looked at her, not having any progress done while she was gone. the two continued to do what they were doing, not talking much to each other.

"well, that's everything; thank you so much for helping!" kihyun said, giving y/n a high five.

"it's no problem. it's sweet that you're doing this for a friend."

the two of them walked to the door, where she hugged him and exited the dorm. he closed the door, then sat on the couch.

for some reason, i miss her now. he thought to himself, taking his phone out from his pocket. why do i miss her so much?

and that's when he realized what that unfamiliar feeling was.
