y/n looked up and saw a boy who was about shownu's height. the boy had short black hair, and he looked pretty buff. he just smiled at her, waiting for her to respond.
"ah, no. i was looking around the campus."
"are you a freshman?" the boy asked. y/n nodded. "don't be intimidated. this campus seems big, but as time flies, it won't be."
she nodded again, putting that piece of information in her head.
"oh, i'm shin hoseok, a senior of jinjoo high." he introduced himself. "people call me wonho because of my body, but i promise, i'm not a bully."
he flexed his arm, making her surprised by the muscles he had.
"i'm chae y/n, and i'm a freshman as you already know." she also introduced herself, bowing.
he chucked. "nice name. so, where are you heading off to?"
"my friends want to eat with me, so the cafeteria i guess."
"follow me. i know where it is."
he then leads her to the cafeteria, and the two talked more about the campus. once they arrived at the place, other students started to stare at the two.
"hey wonho!" a boy walked up to hoseok, giving him a handshake.
"i'll be there in a minute," he told the boy, and lead her further into the cafeteria.
"it's big, i know." he said, looking at y/n. "don't worry, it's-"
"there you are y/n!" the two turned to see shownu quickly jogging with his backpack on his shoulder. "oh."
"hey hyunwoo." hoseok said, patting his back. hyunwoo? she thought.
"hey, hoseok. y/n, let's go to the others; they were worried sick about you." shownu looked at hoseok one more time before he walked away with y/n.

"why did he call you hyunwoo?" she asked.
"hyunwoo is my actual name. you and the others call me shownu because that's the name your dad suggested as a stage name."
"so, you want me to call you hyunwoo?"
"yes, please. i don't want anyone calling me that in school; it is like a company only thing. you know what i mean?"
"totally understandable."
shownu nodded as he and she arrived at the table where the others were sitting. changkyun and jooheon glared at her.
"why didn't you answer any of our texts?" changkyun asked.
"sorry, my phone was on vibrate, and i kinda wanted to see more of the campus." she apologized, looking down. kihyun looked at her with a worried expression.
"y/n, do you want my lunch? you didn't buy lunch yet, right?" he asked.
y/n shook her head. "i don't eat lunch. i usually eat at home."
"of course she eats at home, her food is way better than this crap." minhyuk pointed to his hardly empty tray. she laughed.
"lunch ends in a couple of minutes, hurry up." shownu ordered the others, taking a big bite of minhyuk's lunch.
"so what's after this?" she asked, looking at her schedule. "electives? are elective those classes where they combine all the grades or something like that?"
everyone else nodded.
"yeah, you're taking japanese, aren't you?" changkyun asked. she nodded.
"did you recognize anyone that might've transferred here as well from your school?" kihyun questioned.
"hmm, not yet. usually, it's pretty hard to get out of the school i used to go to; it costs a lot of money to-"
she stopped herself, thinking that she was boasting. "you get what i mean."
"don't worry, y/n. you're not bragging." jooheon answered. "in fact, you're probably the richest student that attends this school!"

everyone laughed. a bell then rang through the whole cafeteria.
"i told you lunch was gonna end, but you guys didn't take a single bite since." shownu said, shaking his head. she and the boys dumped their rubbish, exiting the cafeteria afterward.
"i'll walk her to her next class." changkyun told the others since he had spanish as his elective. they all waved to each other, and she followed him to the building.
"y/n!" a familiar voice called. the two looked behind to see hoseok running.
"o-oh, is this your boyfriend?" hoseok joked, looking at changkyun, who nervously laughed.
"nope, this is one of my friends, changkyun." she replied, smiling. "he's a sophomore."
"oh," hoseok continued. "i saw you walking to the building i was going for my elective. i figured that i should walk with you, but i see you're already walking with your friend."
"i see my friend y/n, i'll see you after!" changkyun ran off to somewhere in the crowd they were walking in.
"so, your elective." hoseok started another conversation. "what is it?"
"japanese."
"really? i have that elective too!"
he smiled while she nervously laughed. she felt a little uncomfortable about everything that was happening now, wishing that she was still with changkyun.
as they continued to walk to the classroom together, he talked to her about what other electives the school offered in the upper grades. they arrived, and he opened the door for her. she just smiled and walked into the room.
"follow me, let's sit in the back." he told her, who followed and sat in the empty seat next to him.
as the teacher waited for all of her new students to enter, a question popped up inside her head to ask hoseok.
"hoseok." y/n called out. he looked up from his phone and smiled at her.
"yeah?"
"how do you know hyunwoo?"
