changkyun nodded and obeyed shownu, immediately calling y/n.

"hello?" a voice answered.

"h-hey y/n." changkyun nervously started to talk, scratching his head. "what are you doing now?"

"i'm currently at the high school with my dad, filling out forms for the next school year. why?"

changkyun looked at his hyungs for a possible response.

"you wanna hang out with us tomorrow?" minhyuk asked, taking over the call.

"yikes, sorry, i can't go out at all this whole week. next week i'm available?"

"sure! just call one of us whenever."

"okay, i gotta go, bye!"

"bye!" minhyuk hung up, a little disappointed. "this suspense. i need answers now!"

"relax, it's just next week. let's kill time by practicing for the evaluation." shownu said, trying to him calm down.

"or," kihyun suggested. "we can ask the other group what's up with them and her."

the others looked at kihyun as if he was crazy.

"hyung, you weren't paying attention to everything we were saying?" jooheon asked. "this is the whole point of trying to get answers from y/n. we want to avoid them as much as possible."

kihyun was a little hurt by his words. "well, i was thinking, since minhyuk wanted answers, maybe we could go with that plan and get the answers from them."

"they seem suspicious, i doubt they'll be honest with us." minhyuk said, sighing.

"how about we forget about this whole thing?" shownu suggested, being tired of all the others quarreling. "what if we are overthinking about it, and we are wrong?"

"hyung, they asked if they could hang out with her." changkyun argued. "what makes you think that we are wrong?"

"maybe they thought that it was unfair if we were the only ones to hang out with y/n, so they wanted to join the fun too."

the other boys sighed. they all knew that the oldest won't ever be on the same page as them.

"whatever, let's end this conversation. my stomach is starting to hurt again from all this stress." changkyun concluded. the other boys nodded, continuing where they last stopped from the practice before.

~ a week later ~

the five boys were practicing in the practice room. when they were singing and dancing, a ring of a phone call interrupted their concentration.

"hyung, that's your phone!" changkyun yelled to minhyuk while dancing intensely.

"i'll get it after!" minhyuk yelled back, as he continued to sing.

after the song ended, minhyuk walked over to the mirror, where their belongings were. he picked up his phone and was surprised by who called.

"who's it from?" jooheon asked.

"y/n-" minhyuk got interrupted by his phone ringing, her calling him again.

"hello?" minhyuk answered, putting the call on speaker.

"hey!" y/n sweetly responded, making the boys smile. "i was thinking, i'm by your guys' dorm because i just came back from the high school again. wanna hang out?"

minhyuk's eyes shook, looking at the others. they nodded at him, using their telepathy to make minhyuk say what they all wanted him to say.

"yes! we are in the practice room now. we'll come out quickly and shower, and we'll be out?"

"sure! can i wait inside your dorm if that's okay with you guys?"

minhyuk started to point at the phone as if it was a sign of her acting uncomfortable.

kihyun walked to minhyuk and took the phone out of his hands, and continued the call. "our dorm is a little messy. shownu hyung was looking for vitamins-"

"it's alright. as long as i can sit on the couch i'm okay."

minhyuk rolled his eyes and glared at kihyun, taking back his phone. "okay, we'll be there in ten minutes if that's fine with you?"

"yes, i'll be waiting, and might get some coffee on the way."

"okay, stay safe!"

"bye!"

minhyuk hung up the phone, and everyone looked at each other. quickly grabbing the belongings, they all ran out of the practice room.

rather than walking back to the dorm, they caught a taxi and asked the driver to drive quickly.

when they arrived at the building of where their dorm was, they quickly got out and paid the driver. shownu started to put in the code to get in, while the others tried to rush him.

after unlocking the door, he and minhyuk were the first ones in. they quietly walked inside but stopped when they heard someone yelling. the others heard it as well and quickly went inside to see what was happening.

"maybe if you didn't treat me so carelessly before, maybe i would stay!" the person yelled. the door of the other team's dorm opened, and someone quickly ran out of the room. the boys were shocked to see who that person was.
