"If this might is not forever. At least we are together. I know I'm not alone."
— Alone
...
...
2 years later
Today's mom's birthday.
Victoria and I are planning a grand party in our backyard. It's literally a teenager's dream party. It has everything you can imagine and to think it's a party of a woman who just turned fifty.
My mom has a lot of friends. Like a lot. Victoria made sure to invite them all and made me go shopping to buy a gift. She had ordered a bunch of stuff already that included some perfumes, clothes and accessories but is still making me go and find a perfect necklace for her.
She knows I'm not good at it. I will spend hours in a shop and still won't find anything. And it took me like three hours to choose a necklace. It is a diamond, choker kind of a thing. I got some help from one of the female workers there.
I watch as the decorators run around giving some final touches to the venue.
I look around for Victoria and see her talking to of the planners, looking stressed.
This girl.
She never learns.
I told her to let just things go the way they are.
I walk over to her and she looks up the second I reach.
"Is something wrong?" I ask her.
She sighs, "No, I just want everything to go perfect."
"And it will," I give her a reassuring smile and whisk her away from the planner. "Don't stress out. It's time to get dressed anyone. I'll help you get ready."
"You'll help me get ready?" She laughs.
"I'll help you take a shower?" I suggest, grinning. "Maybe after that blow dry your hair and straighten it."
"I like the idea," she nods. "You can start by carrying me up there. My feet are killing me."
"It would be my pleasure," I say grabbing her waist and lifting her up to me. Her legs wrap tightly around my waist and she rests her head on my shoulder.
"I'm so tense everywhere," she whines.
"Don't worry, I'll relive all your stress and knots," I whisper in her ear, suggestively.
She picks her head up and rubs herself against me.
"I can't wait," she brushes her lips against me softly before resting her head back.
I bolt to the room and before we know it, we're ripping each other's clothes off. I slam her against the shower wall with warm water scalding over us.
I don't even wait and slam myself into her. She moans and throws her head back, meeting my every thrust with her own. My mouth latches on her nipple. I suck, bite and twist it with my mouth.
I feel her tightening around me, "Don't come." I slow down my thrusts. "Come when I tell you to," I order, groaning.
"Christian, no, please," she claws my back.
"Don't let go, Victoria," I say ramming in her, picking up my pace again.
I make sure to hit her sweet spot. She screams in pleasure. I let it go for a few more minutes until I tell her to release, coming right after her.
She sags against me and I hold her up.
"This is just what I needed," she giggles, her eyes twinkling.
The next thing I know, she falling on her knees and taking me in her mouth. The rest of the shower goes quite eventful.
...
"All done, babe," I put away the straightener and look at my work on her hair, feeling proud.

"It's perfect!" She puts down her makeup brush looking at my work. "Thank you,"
"No problem. Now change, baby or we are going to be late," I give her a quick kiss.
Over the past two years, I've spent so much time with Victoria that I know almost every hairstyle she likes, how she does her makeup and what she likes to wear.
She taught me all the things and I love doing these types of things for her. Even right now, she had gone to the closet to was the dress I bought for her.
I style my own hair and gel them back. I wear the outfit that Victoria out out for me and it's a white button up shirt with dress pants. I tuck the shirt into the pants and leave the first two buttons open. I also roll up the sleeves. I slip in my dress shoes and go in the closet to see her fixing her dress.
It's a cream strapless dress, with the big slit on the right leg. And as I expected, she looks stunning. Even more amazing than I imagined.
"Victoria."
She whirls around and looks up at me shyly.
"So, how do I look?"
"Beautiful," I give her a long look. "Absolutely beautiful."
She giggles ducking her head.
I walk to her and raise up her chin before planting a small kiss on the corner of her lips.
"You ready?" I ask her.
She nods. I take her hand and we make our way outside to the venue.
"Everything looks fine," Victoria inspects. "Do you think the flowers go with the theme?"
"Victoria, I told you not to stress. Everyone is amazing," I say caressing her shoulders. "Mom and dad are almost here. Let's go."
We wait at the gate and soon enough four SUVs pull up in front of our house.
From one car, all the guards come out and from the others, it's Rico, mom, dad, Francis, Amara and Leah.
Leah is the first one to run up to up and dangles with my legs.
"Cwissy!" She giggles.
I pick her up and give her a smooch making her laugh even more.
Cwissy is a name she gave me herself. It was suppose to be uncle Chris but somehow I became Cwissy.
"How's my favorite niece doing?" I ask her.
"Very well," she gives me a hug.
"Vicky!" She shrills once she sets her eyes on her. "You wook like ma pwincess."
She latches onto Victoria while I greet mom, dad and the others. Mom looks extremely happy and excited.
"I can't wait to see the party," mom hugs me. "You look very handsome, son."
"And you look like you just turned twenty," I wink at her.
"Yes!" Dad laughs. "That's what I told her when I saw her today."
"Oh hush, you both," my mom slaps my dad's chest.
My mom grew out her hair again. It goes pasts her shoulders. She looks younger and healthy.
I hug Rico and Francis next.
"Shit dude," Rico whistles. "We are not even inside and your house looks like it came out a fairy tales. Little Leah will refuse to leave this place."
He's right. There are a lot of carriages randomly here and there. A beautiful flower and stem passage that leads to the party.
My mom still loves these sorts of things.
"Speaking of fairy tales, our Rico has been occupied recently with a girl," Francis says throwing a smirk in his direction.

"Dude, I already told you. She's just someone I fuck occasionally," he shrugs.
"So you won't mind if I set one of my friends with her? He took quite a liking towards her."
Rico clenches his jaw, "Shut the fuck up, man."
Francis just give him a smug look raising his hands.
"Am I missing something?" I ask looking between them.
"I saw him out at a club. He was with a girl. I was there with Amara and a friend," Francis explains.
"Oh. So that's what gotten you so occupied these days?" I raise my eyebrows at him.
"Shut up," he groans. "And you're one to talk. Pussy whipped, married asshole."
"Of course, I'm pussy whipped. You'll be too if you had someone a little close to Victoria," I shrug.
Francis laughs. "Let's go. Leah is getting impatient there."
We all. And our way in to see everyone looking around in amazement. Victoria really outdid herself.
Soon after a while the guests start coming in. Some look pissed that they had to go through the standard protocol.
We don't need drama today. No weapons allowed.
The party goes really smoothly. There was also a small play date set for Leah at one side. She played in one of the jumping castles with other kids while all of us mingled. Well, the ladies mingled. Us men, stood together, discussing business.
"It's really hard, dad. She doesn't even knows about the half of the things that we do in the business," I say. "She thinks that we just sell weapons. But the everyday killing. How our mistakes cost the lives of hundreds of people. She knows nothing."
"And it's going to stay that way, son," dad says. "After what happened couple years old that made you want to shut down our drug business was enough. The most harmful thing is out of the way."
"But dad you know there is always a risk that may never make it back one day. She should know," I stress.
"It's not worth the stress for them man. Especially Victoria," Francis says. "Amara also doesn't know everything."
"You know, Victoria almost walked into the torture chambers. What could I have done then?"
"It's not the time and place to discuss this, Chris," Rico says. "Go and enjoy with your wife. It's cake cutting time anyways."
I sigh but nod and make my way over to Victoria.
"Hey baby," I go behind her.
"Hi," she grins at me. "I was about to make the announcement to cut the cake."
"Yeah, we should do that. It's getting late anyways," I tell her.
Everyone gathers around the table where mom and Leah cut the cake while we all sing her happy birthday.
The dinner is next served and soon after that the guests start leaving. The whole time my mom was so happy that it made all the worries fly away.
It's all because of Victoria, though.
It's always her.
"I have one last surprise," Victoria announces. "I want you all in the living room."
I look at her I'm question. She already did too much and those presents were more than enough.
I think, mom had the same thoughts, because she says the same thing. "Victoria, honey, you did so much for me today. It was mine and Leah's dream come true. And the necklace? It was too much."
"Mom, just trust me. You'll love it," she reassures her. "Come on in now."
When they enter, I hear gaps of surprise. When I step inside, I see what all the fuss is all about. Our living room is full of flowers, fairy lights, candles and the floor is full of white and pink balloons.
Victoria instructs everyone to take a seat, including me. Leah doesn't listen though, she just admires everything.
"I wanted this to be a very special moment," she starts. "You all have done so much for me and I wanted to do this for all of you together."
She looks at me, "I want to thank you Christian. For giving me a mom and a dad," she throws a loving glance at my parents. "This gift is something happened because of your constant support a d prayers."
"You got promoted, didn't you? I remember you talking about it!" Amara exclaims.
She just laughs and shakes her head.
She picks up a box from somewhere between the flowers. "Christian, why don't you come here and open it?"
"Me?" I ask her, confused but stand up anyways.
"Yes, you." She holds my hand once I reach her. "You have been through so much for me. Even learned how to do my makeup and I'd say that's the biggest achievement."
I smile at her.
She thrusts the box in my hand, "Open it."
I give her a hesitant look and open up the box. The sight before me makes my heart jump in my throat.
I slowly pick it up, "You... You're.."
She nods teary eyed, "I'm pregnant."
I don't hear anyone else, "I'm going to be a dad?"
"You are going to be a dad."
I waste no time in engulfing her in a hug.
I barely register the others, my focus solely on her.
"How far along?" I manage to ask her.
"Ten weeks," she murmurs back. "I met with the doctor and they're confident this one will go perfectly."
I don't let her go. Not even when mom and dad come to congratulate us. I keep on holding her... and my little baby.
They all hug both of us but I still don't let go. I'm too afraid to.
"It's okay, Christian. Everything's fine," she rubs my back.
The tears I was holding in break out like a dam. I sob into her shoulder, holding her even tighter.
All these years, I've been blaming myself for everything that happened. We had lost hope.
But it's all back here again.
That overwhelming feeling is back there.
I'm going to be a dad.
Victoria pulls back and softly kisses my lips with tears in her own eyes.
"I love you, Christian. We're alright. Everything is fine. Finally."
"I love you too, baby. Thank you."
I finally let go of her and the others congratulate me.
"I'm so proud of you son," my dad says pulling me in a hug.
"Thank you. You are going to be a grandfather. How does that sound, old man?" I laugh.
"It feels amazing," he answers truthfully.
Next is my mom who pulls me into her while dad goes to Victoria.
"I love you, my baby boy. I'm so proud of you," she cries and kisses both my cheeks.
Rico is fast to pull me in a hug. "I'm so happy for you man."
"Thanks. I feels like a dream."
"Believe it brother," Francis says giving me a hug. "You'll make a great father."
"We'll see about that," I laugh, nervously.
"Victoria won't let you be a bad one," Amara interjects. "Congrats Christian. I'm happy for you." I thank her and give her a small hug as well.
I go back to Victoria and put my hand on her stomach.
Finally, we get out happy ending.
...
So basically it's very clear that they'll have a baby. I don't believe in sad endings.
So about the sequel. The story revolves around her children. That's all I can say now.
Please vote on the cover. It's called RECKLESS.

The Dreamside Road
Five years after the world fell into chaos, a treasure of artifacts is up for grabs. The relics of the Dreamside Road offer a power that could help rebuild or annihilate what remains. Orson Gregory is an adventurer for hire, but hunts this treasure for answers, not glory. Enoa Cloud’s late aunt helped hide the Dreamside Road, but following in her aunt’s supernatural tradition offers her as much peril as power. Together, Orson and Enoa battle a magic-obsessed militia, clash with a host of rivals, and face constant adventure on their journey to find the Dreamside Road. *Updates Monday and Friday The Dreamside Road is now on TopWebFiction! Vote so people know this exists. _____________________________________ NOTE: The Progression tag applies specifically to Enoa. Also, fair warning, that element doesn't enter the story until she begins her studies. Content: Main characters range in age from teenagers to people in their thirties and older, but it will not contain gratuitous violence or explicit sexual content. It also won’t shy away from implication, anything to make this story and its world feel more real. Characters will freely allude to potentially triggering topics, including living with a disability, facing terminal illness, coping with trauma, surviving societal destabilization, and the consequences of bigotry. At its most intense, the Dreamside Road is a hard PG-13. Worldbuilding: This is not a story with a lot of early exposition scenes, conveniently explaining ‘magic systems’ and political dynamics. Readers will learn, progressively, as the characters do. This story/world has a ‘magic system’, or rather, a set of systems, but the effort to quantify and understand the truth of the setting plays a role in the backstory, as well as in some character motivations. In that same vein, not every character has a firm grasp on the nature of their world, and not every piece of dialog from every character should be taken as entirely truthful Worldbuilding. Also, this isn't the softest Sci-fi. There are at least some basic explanations given for various elements, but Royal Road does not give me a spectrum to choose from. Given the choice between hard and soft, let's just say The Dreamside Road won't be cited in any college Physics papers. Setting and Theme: The Dreamside Road walks the line between fantasy and science fiction and deals with finding one’s place in a changing world. Many of the characters in this story are United States natives and the story begins in the United States, my homeland. However, knowledge or interest in this country is not necessary to understand the story, especially as it progresses. Also, as this is a novel that deals with societal collapse and while that damage may be widespread, in story, I don’t want to overstep and critique the culture of others’ unless I have particular knowledge in a given area. Ultimately, the Dreamside Road is American in the same way Harry Potter is English, fantasies that do not have a full secondary world, but with enough original elements to fully diverge the setting from our the real world.
