the bin before exiting the operation theater.
My eyes find a small group of anxious people sitting in the waiting room. Both father and son are sitting waiting for news on Karla.
Just as they hear me come in, Mr. Vasquez is on his feet in a second. No matter how heartless he shows the world he is, the love he has for his wife cannot compare.
He looks calm and composed but I can easily see the anguish hidden behind those eyes. Same as Christian's.
"What happened?" Lorenzo asks me.
I smile, "The operation is going well. She'll be out in a while. They are stitching her up."
Amara and Francis close their eyes relieved. Mr. Vasquez visibly relaxes. Rico lets out a sigh of relief. But Christian.
His eyes search mine like a lost boy. He looks so young and scared. I love towards him and gently caress his cheek while he looks up at me.
My poor baby.
"She's fine Christian. The tumor's gone. It's gone." I console him.
He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath, "Thank God. Oh, thank God."
I turn back to see Lorenzo watching me. I give him a reassuring smile.
"I'll go back inside and once she's moved in her room, I'll let you know," I tell him and then turn back to look at Christian who still looks like a sadly lost boy.
Amara moves from her place and hugs me tight. "Thank you, Tori. You are the best." She pulls back and gives me a teary smile.
I just give her a mock flare in return. "I'll go check on them."
I go back into the operation theater not forgetting to sanitize my hands. They finished stitching her up.

"Are you ready to move her Doctor?" I ask the senior doctor. He instructs the staff and Karla is wheeled away from the operation theater to floor 7 in room 267.
After discussing her condition with the doctor I go back out.
"She has been shifted on the 7th floor. Room 257. I'm going to check her vitals, you can all come with." I walk towards the elevator and they all follow.
I'm still wearing the pink scrubs Christian thought I looked hot in. I intertwined our fingers once we settle in the elevator, giving him a reassuring squeeze.
When we get off the floor. The security roaming around doesn't get unnoticed by me. Once we reach the room I tell them to wait inside while I go in.
There she lays on the bed looking like an angel. She brings a smile on my face. She fought hard and she won.
She's a survivor.
I check her vitals. Once I'm sure she's good and stable. I call Lorenzo and Christian inside.
"Call me if anything happens," I tell them. "She's fine. She'll wake up soon. She's on anesthesia."
Christian nods looking not looking at me but his eyes are fixed on Karla. "Is she in pain?"
"She's not." I rub his arm. "Even if she is the morphine won't let her feel it."
Christian goes and sits next to her taking her hand in his. His dad is looking with a strange look in his eyes. I leave the room and close the door behind me.
Francis, Amara, and Rico stand up once they see me. "she's alright guys. Don't worry."
"She's a brave one eh?" Francis says. This is one of the few times I've heard him talk.
"The bravest." I smile.

We wait outside and chitchat for a while. Suddenly the door opens and Christian is standing there.
"She awake." He can't hide his glee.
I smile and stand up. After shooting a text to the senior doctor I step inside. Karla is up talking to Lorenzo who is sitting next to her holding both her hands with a small smile on his face listening to Karla babble.
Once her eyes settle on me her grin widens. I go to her side and give her a smile of my own.
"How do you feel Karla?" I ask her.
"Sore but so... Relieved."
I nod. "Would you like some water?"
"Yes please."
I pour her some water and make her take light sips out of it.
"Thank you so much, Victoria for coming into my baby boy's life." She caresses my cheek. "And thank you so much for everything you have done for us." She has tears in her eyes.
"Karla!" I exclaim playfully. "Stop being so mushy. You are making me cry as well."
"Christian put a ring on her finger or else I won't spare you." Karla narrows her eyes at Christian.
"Mom!" He comes behind me and puts his arms around me. "You are going to scare her away."
"Nothing scares this one honey." She winks at me making me giggle.
"I gotta agree on that one." He kisses the top of my head. He used to be so careful around other people when it came to showing affection to me.
But now, he is so affectionate towards me in front of his dad.
The senior doctor enters the room and we all back off giving him some room. Once we are standing on the corner of the room Lorenzo says my name.
"Yes?"
He smiles and touches my cheek lightly, "I'm glad my son found you." He turns to Christian and pulls him in a hug.
Christian takes a moment to recover but hugs him back. His dad taps him on his back and releases me.
"I'll be back later Karla." Lorenzo goes out of the door.
Karla is crying silent tears. They are tears of happiness.
"Come on. Let's go home." Christian takes my hand.
The smile that is plastered on his face tells me that maybe everything is finally okay now.
He gives me a loving glance. I think he may be in love with me.
But that's good.
Because I'm also madly in love with this man.

This is Linodo, the Author. I'm writing this novel as a more light-hearted and 'fun' story compared to my other works. I had a writer's block for my other story and decided to put it on hold while I have some fun with this one.I don't have a release schedule as of yet, but I will try to post as much as I can. It's meant to be a more 'fun' story, so I won't stress too much on making everything too detailed or anything. However, I will continue to ensure that there is a certain quality to this work.I hope you will enjoy "The Magic God Wants A Disciple!"
