I was still with Shoto, but instead of hugging him I was sitting in the chair next to him so we could talk more. I told him all the funny things he missed and stories from 1-A. Shoto was hanging on to every word and we both laughed along.
"That's when Mineta got stuck onto the wall for five hours!" I giggled.
Shoto burst out laughing. "I wish I had been there to see that!"
We chuckled a little and I then started at Shoto. It seemed so unreal that after all this time I was finally laughing with Shoto again. I then asked Shoto a question. "Shoto, are you going back to Ketsubutsu? Does your father even know you're here?"
My boyfriend was silent. "He knows..." Shoto said quietly, "he just didn't want to come. Fuyumi told me that. It's funny, really. He says I'm his favorite child, but he treats me like absolute shit. I don't know what to think of my family anymore..."
I put my hand in his own. "I'm sorry to hear that, Shoto. I wish I could get you away from him," I told him sadly, looking down at my feet.
"Izuku..." Shoto lifted my chin and stared right at me. "You don't have to say you're sorry, you did nothing wrong. Let's just pray I can go back to U.A," he smiled softly.
Losing my sad expression, I smiled along with him. We leaned in and kissed each other again. I could never be sad when I was with or kissing Shoto. Shoto and I released our lips from the kiss and we both gave one another a dopey look.
After some time had passed, it was time for me to leave. I gave Shoto a hug and said goodbye. I could tell he wasn't happy that I had to leave, and I wasn't either. I left his room and got down to the first floor of the hospital. I saw Nurse Akeno talking with her colleagues and then she saw me. "Oh, Izuku!" She said happily and went over to me.
"Hi, Akeno!" I smiled.
"I see you know that Mr. Todoroki is now awake," Akeno smiled.

I nodded, and I hugged her. "Thank you so much, Akeno. You really helped me through all this." Some happy tears escaped my eyes.
I felt Akeno hug me back. "Of course, honey. It's my job to help people like your boyfriend."
We stood there for a while, just hugging. Akeno and I then broke apart and I thanked Akeno again. She told me not to mention it and I said goodbye to her as well. I walked back to the dorms with a little skip in my step, feeling a big smile on my face.
"Young Midoriya, you can't just be leaving the dorms without permission!" All Might scolded me and I hung my head, looking down at my shoes.
All Might sighed. "Look, I know Young Todoroki woke up and you really wanted to see him, but that isn't an excuse. I'll let this slip this time, but I'm going to punish you next to you do this."
I looked up at my mentor. "Thanks, All Might. I won't do it again."
"You better not do it again, Young Midoriya. I'm warning you. Anyway...How is Young Todoroki doing?" Asked All Might, no longer that mad at me than before.
"He's doing good. But, he still has to stay in the hospital for a week so he can get used to his meds and walking around. Otherwise, Shoto's fine," I informed All Might.
"Maybe one of these days the whole class can go and visit him. It's been way too long since we saw Young Todoroki last," commented All Might.
"That sounds like a good idea. He really missed the class and the teachers."
"I'll talk to Mr. Aizawa. You are dismissed from my office, Young Midoriya, but please leave the doms with permission next time?"
I nodded. "I will."
"Good. See you soon, kid."
I walked out of All Might's office and back to the dorms. When I got back from the hospital, All Might made me go to his office because he needed to have a talk with me. When I arrived at the dorms, all my classmates rushed over to me.
"How's Todoroki?!" Asui asked.

"Is he doing okay now that he's awake?" Iida questioned.
"Is he feeling better?" Ojiro inquired.
"Yeah, how is he?" Asked Kaminari.
I soon was being asked by everyone in my class at once. I calmed them down and answered their questions. "Shoto is doing fine. He's better now that he is awake, but he has to stay in the hospital for another week so he can get used to walking and his new medication. Otherwise, he'll be okay," I say with a reassuring smile.
Everyone cheers. "That's amazing, Deku! Are you happy he's back?" Uraraka asked me as the class kept making an awful lot of noise.
"More than happy, I don't know how to explain it, but I definitely feel an emotion larger than Happy," I replied.
"Maybe when Todoroki gets out you and him, I and Tenya, and Asui and Tokoyami can all go on a triple date! How does that sound?" Questioned my brunette friend.
"That does sound great, but I don't know if I'll ever see Shoto after this. His father may take him away again, and I really don't want that to happen but..." Before I knew it I was crying. Uraraka quickly hugged me and I leaned my head on her shoulder and softly cried. I haven't really thought that much about losing Shoto until now, and I didn't know what to do if he was taken away from me again...
Uraraka and I stayed hugging for a while and then we let go. "If it makes you feel better, the whole class can go right now and confront Endeavor and bring Todoroki back. I'll kick anyone's butt for my best friend." She had a menacing look on her usually happy face.
I giggled. "Thank you, Uraraka. But, I don't you to get killed by Shoto's father for me. That would make it ten times worse."
My best friend laughed as well and we both laughed for a while. Uraraka and I then left the room we were in and to our dorms since it was getting pretty late and I spent most of the whole day with Shoto.
Once I was in my room, my phone started to ring. It was my mother. I thought, uh oh... And clicked answer.
"IZUKU MIDORIYA! How come I got a call from your teachers saying you went out of the dorms without permission?! Do you know how worried I was?! When I got that call I thought you got kidnapped or something! Your poor mother soon can't take all of this!" My mom was yelling through the phone. At some points, I had to move the phone away from my ear.
"Mom..." I started to say.
"And all of this trouble you are getting into! First sneaking out at ten at night, then this?! What am I going to do with you, Izuku?! I feel half the time you're at U.A, you are your friends are causing trouble!"
"Mom."
"At WHAT cost, Izuku?! If you want to be a good hero, you need to listen to your teachers and follow the rules! I know you're in the Hero Course, but you are still a child! God knows what could happen if you got hurt while out of the dorms' protection!"
"MOM!" I yelled into the phone, really trying to get her to stop yelling at me so I could explain.
"What, Izuku?!" My mom yelled back.
"The reason I left the dorms was that...Shoto woke up today. I'm sorry that you got a call and that you were worried, but I was at the hospital with Shoto the whole time. Again, I'm sorry Mom."
For the first time in this whole conversation, my mother was silent. Then she said, "Todoroki's awake? Oh, honey, I'm so sorry for yelling. Is he doing good? Does he want me to bring him some snacks?"
"He's doing really good, Mom. I think some snacks would be great for Shoto," I smiled while talking with my mother.
"That's wonderful, Izuku! One of these days come over and we can make him some treats. Does that sound okay?"
"That sounds great. I'll be over there soon, okay?"
"Okay, Honey. See you then. Love you! Again, I'm so sorry for yelling. Goodnight! Make sure to get some sleep."
"I will, goodnight Mom."
The phone call ended and I did what my mom said and I got some shut eye. I couldn't wait until I saw Shoto again.

The Errant Otherworlder Watanabe
“In this world nothing can be said to be certain, except death, taxes and trucks whom transport men to other worlds.” Meet our titular protagonist Haruto Watanabe, a man who has all the markings of a good protagonist for a generic portal fantasy story. As an overworked office worker, to escape from the grips of crippling capitalist alienation, he had taken up to reading many stories where young men like him were transported to other worlds and enjoyed their lives at a most leisurely pace. Armed with genre-awareness and (what he believes to be) a marketable personality which would make him an easy audience self-insert, he longed for the day the isekai express would take him to his long-awaited adventure to another world. When the fateful day came, where the fair yet harsh mistress that is the fabled truck took Watanabe on one last date to the other side, he was most ready to escape his previous life, ready to embark on an errant so great he’d be most overpowered, his heroics so exceptional and his harem so vast that they would barely fit ten or twenty volumes of an overly long novel made by a desperate author looking for quick cash. Lo and behold however, Watanabe instead found himself in a low fantasy world which lacked severely in the department of any game-like systems, cheat skills or easily charmed damsels in distress. In a setting so antithetical to his established genre savviness or any attempts at power fantasy, how will a man like Watanabe, lacking in strength, wits and courage, manage to survive in a land most foreign to him? This is my first time trying to share to the wider world what I’ve written, and I hope you’ll enjoy reading the errantry of Watanabe as much as I enjoy writing about them. I'll be posting one chapter per week on Sundays, along with extra chapters whenever I get the chance to write more than usual.
