When I got home I got out of my uniform and started looking through my closet for something to wear. I know it's not a date, but I at least wanted to look okay.
All of a sudden there was a soft knock on my door and my mother poked her head in, "What are you doing, Honey?" she asked.
I turned to my mom, "Please help me pick an outfit."
My mom walked in and gave me a questioning look, "And why do you need me to help you with an outfit?" she asked with a small smile.
"Well, I'm going to the cafe with a friend at five, and I need help choosing what to wear."
"Is this friend a boy?"
"MOM!"
My mom chuckled, "I'm sorry, Izuku, but I have to ask. So, is it a boy?"
A blush formed on my face, "Y-Yes, but we're only doing homework!" I tell my mom.
The smile on my mother's face only grew wider, "Homework, you say?"
"Mom you're just like Uraraka!" I complain, and my mom laughed more.
My mom then started looking through my closet to find me an outfit. Finally, she laid out the finished product. The outfit consisted of a white t-shirt, green skinny jeans, and my red sneakers. (We had to get a new pair since my old ones were way too big.)
I went into the bathroom and put the outfit on. When I came out my mom smiled brightly. "Oh Izuku, you look so cute!"
"Thanks, mom," I say.
"Let me brush your hair and I think you'll be ready," she says and grabs my hairbrush and brushes my long hair. Once she was done she went to the living room.
I sat on my bed and scrolled through my phone, soon I heard the doorbell ring and my mother running to open it. I heard talking then my mom opened my bedroom door, "Izuku, your friend is here for your 'Date,'"

"Mom, please stop!" I begged as I got off my bed and grabbed my backpack. When I walked out of my bedroom I saw Todoroki standing awkwardly in my living room.
"Hey, Midoriya," He waved when he saw me walking up to him.
"Hi, Todoroki!" I smiled.
My mom walked up next to me, "Okay you two, be back by 6:30 sharp," my mother warned us.
"I promise I'll get her home on time, Mrs. Midoriya," Todoroki told my mom.
"Okay, I believe you. Have fun," My mom told Todoroki and me, and I gave her a hug goodbye.
"Bye, mom!" I say and Todoroki and I left my apartment. We start walking to the cafe in complete silence, and I decided to break it after a while.
"So, how is your eye doing?" I asked. From what I could see, it looked way better than it did before, but you could see the bruise around his eye.
"It's fine, still hurts a little. Are your knees okay?" He asked me.
My face turned pink, "You saw my knees?" My knees were scratched up pretty bad, and hurt every time when I sat down. I didn't think he noticed them.
"Of course I did, they were not that hard to notice," said Todoroki.
"Yeah, they're fine," I say quietly.
Todoroki nodded, and we kept walking. After a while, we finally made it to the cafe and walked in.
"I'll go up there and you can find a table, what would you like?" Todoroki asked me, motioning to the ordering counter.
I thought for a moment, "I'll have a hot chocolate please," I smile.
Todoroki nodded, "Okay, I'll be back," and then he walked up to the counter and I chose a booth in the corner of the cafe.
I set my stuff down and set out the stuff we needed. While I was waiting I kept thinking about what Uraraka and the girls were saying,

"Deku has a date tonight!"
"That's what a date is, Midoriya!"
"Your friend is here for your 'Date,'"
I don't know why, but I couldn't stop thinking about it. We're just having coffee, we're friends, we are friends having coffee and doing homework! If it were a date, Todoroki would have told you! Stop letting other people get inside you're head!
"Midoriya!" I heard Todoroki say and I shook my head and looked at the male in front of me, holding two drinks. "I was saying your name for a while, are you okay?" he asked.
I nodded, "Yeah! Just spaced out for a while."
"Okay, here's your drink," Todoroki says and hands me my hot chocolate. I thanked him and took a sip, then looked at his drink.
"What are you drinking?" I ask, still observing the cup.
"Black coffee."
I stared at him in disbelief, "You drink your coffee black?!"
"Yeah, what's the problem?" Todoroki questioned.
"Black coffee is so gross, how can you stand it?!"
"Hot chocolate is filled with sugar, how can you stand it?"
"Hot chocolate is the best thing ever!"
"Black Coffee is better."
"No, it isn't!"
"Yes, It is."
"No!"
"Yes."
"Argh!" I yell and slam my pencil on the table in frustration. I look at Todoroki's face and he's smiling.
"What are you smiling about?" I asked the Hot-Chocolate-Hater in front of me.
Todoroki looks at me, still slightly smiling, "It's just that you're getting so mad about drink preference, it's kinda hilarious."
"It's not funny!" I say.
"Yes, it is," Todoroki replies.
I frown, and I throw a sugar packet at him. He looks at the packet, and back at me, "Did you just throw a sugar packet at me?"
"I did. What are you going to do about it?" I ask with a small smirk on my face.
Todoroki looks at me and throws two more packets at me. Soon, it broke into a small packet throwing war. Todoroki and I were throwing things until Todoroki started to talk, "I feel like we're doing everything, but getting our work done."
I laugh, "Yeah, It's already five twenty, we should start working." We began to sort through all the information we had collected and started to work on our project.
It was now six twenty. Todoroki and I gathered up our stuff and left the cafe. While we were walking and chatting, it started to get really cold. I should have brought a jacket, I thought while a rubbed my bare arms.
Todoroki must have noticed because he asked, "Are you cold?"
I nodded, "Yeah, kinda."
"Here," he says and takes off his jacket, "take this."
I look at the piece of clothing and shake my head, "No, then you'll be cold!"
"I'll be fine, Midoriya, just take it," Todoroki tells me.
I frowned and just looked at the jacket, then I took it. "Fine, only because you said so." I put it on, and it was pretty big on me.
Todoroki just smiled and shook his head. Not that long after we made it to my building.
"Well, I'll see you tomorrow, Todoroki," I smile.
"Okay, goodnight Midoriya," Todoroki says and starts walking home. I walk up the stairs and open the front door to my apartment.
"I'm home, Mom!" I say as I take off my shoes.
My mom walked into the living room, "Hi sweetie, did you have a good time?" she asked me.
I nodded, "Uh huh, I did."
My mother looks at me for a moment, mostly at my clothing, "I don't remember you taking a jacket," she told me, giving a knowing smirk.
My eyes go wide, and my face turned hot pink. My mom just smiled, "You don't need to explain, Izuku. Come into the kitchen, dinner's ready."
I keep my head down and follow my mom into the kitchen, very relieved I didn't have to talk about Todoroki giving me his jacket.

Is it a mistake to challenge fate, after all? *** The world-building is set upon on the universal scale, with dungeon and old-style fantasy. It has a progression that follows with the consistency of a dungeon setting, although it's not what you call a dungeon, but a function of a crystal. There's a lot to take in this novel, but that's all within my intention. I have always enjoyed challenging conventional ideas. The cover is not mine, it's just temporary.
