《That Day // Villain Deku》Chapter 60 : It's Our Move.

I could sense a pair of large eyes burning holes into my back as I stood, staring at Re-Destro—who sat calmly in front of me. I had known Gigantomachia would make an appearance, but it seemed that he was no longer of use for what I had originally hoped to use him for.

Taking down the Metahuman Liberation Army.

Turning to face Gigantomachia, I prepared myself for another battle. It was clear to me now that Machia hadn't been fighting us seriously. He was much stronger than he had originally led on—he had simply been toying with us before now; however, this was the moment that we would finally fight for real.

Gigantomachia stood, staring at me, with his mouth agape for what felt like ages, before I heard him mumble a string of words I hadn't expected.

"A true successor..." His voice was hoarse and quiet, but I could hear it nonetheless.

Several thoughts shot through my mind as I stared at Gigantomachia in shock.

Was this the end of our battle?

Had I won?

Was he now going to submit to my rein?

The grin that crept onto my face as I realized I had won Gigantomachia's loyalty was one that matched that of the Cheshire Cat. One with the corners of my mouth stretched across my face in an unnatural form. One accompanied by my eyes—as they looked almost as if they would bulge out of their sockets, and spill out onto the broken concrete beneath me. A grin that shown with both malice, and joy, in the light of the sun. A grin that expressed both melancholy, and excitement. An appearance that contrasted with exact opposites as I looked around myself.

It truly was a shame that this whole city had to have been desecrated as it was.

Although, the fruits of this city's demise would be plentiful.

As the following week progressed, and the benefits of our latest battle were rolling in, I was confused. While my friends were happy, eating their fancy meals and splurging on expensive outfits with money from Re-Destro's wallet, I was perplexed. I had won Gigantomachia's trust and loyalty for myself, this much I knew; however, the Doctor hadn't yet explained when I would be receiving my new power.

I sat on a couch, in front of a crowd of people in agonizing pain. The bandages that shrouded my arm were extreme, but necessary nonetheless—considering I had lost a limb during the battle between Re-Destro and myself. My arm had been ripped from my hand to my elbow and torn in two, which left me with another question.

When would the Doctor be fixing my arm?

Would he be fixing my arm?

I'm missing one of my forearms, which was quite the handicap in battle—considering that I needed my hands to use my whips, and using my newer, larger whip was much more difficult than using two smaller whips. While the large whip was powerful, its mobility was limited and its wind-up time was a large inconvenience.

Ergo, my smaller whips were more efficient to use than the larger whip.

"Liberation Warriors!" A voice echoed throughout the hall we had all been in—abruptly interrupting my train of thought. "I am Re-Destro!" The voice continued. "As of today... The Metahuman Liberation Army is reborn!!"

I could hear the slight murmurs of those that stood in the sea of people as they wondered what was to come; meanwhile, I sat, sighing, as I picked at one of my hangnails. I inwardly chuckled at the sense of nostalgia I felt.

"In our quest to enlighten the world with Destro's will... I saw the League Of Villains as an obstacle to be overcome!!" Re-Destro explained to the crowd. "Yes, until that day, that is what I believed! I never doubted it!!"

Hmm...

"But please understand I was blind to the truth!"

Maybe I should think more about a villain costume...

"Bound by my blood and trapped by principals—that is, until the day I witnessed true liberation!"

I don't know whether or not my hoodie and mask will cut it anymore...

"Have I surrendered?"

What would I want in a costume, though..?

"No!"

It would have to be practical, while also stylish...

"I now see that Yagi Izuku is a true liberator!"

I felt my head snap up as I was pulled out of my thoughts by the sudden use of my name. I could think of possible villain outfits later on, but right now I had business to attend to.

"It is out of deep reverence and necessity... That I abdicate my position!" Re-Destro exclaimed in hysteria. "The Liberation Army is revived... With Yagi Izuku as it's grand commander!" The man spoke. "In light of our commitment to walk a more profound path of liberation, our Liberation Army and the League Of Villains will conduct a merger under a new name!!"

The outfit should be lightweight...

Perhaps something that could help me to limit my use of Ghost in unnecessary moments—that way I wouldn't suffer from my usual headaches.

"The League's Spinner and I devised this name together..." Re-Destro spoke as I noticed my friends beginning to walk onto the platform we had been standing on. "Now tell them what it is, Yagi Izuku!"

"The Paranormal Liberation Front!" I yelled out, happy to finally be rid of the cliche, unoriginal name I had been subjected to serving under for what felt like a lifetime.

My friends seemed almost as ecstatic as I had been as I announced the name—officializing the merge we were to undergo—and it made me happy. I was happy that my friends were completely behind me, despite this sudden change-of-pace we were exhibiting; although, I suspected that they were persuaded by the glamour of our new associates' riches—which were now for us to use at our disposal.

While it didn't exactly feel amazing to use someone else's money to buy what I had needed, I felt mildly happy. Although my family had been extremely rich, I wasn't given a cent. I had to fend for myself—making food with whatever was in the house, and doing chores for those that felt bad enough for me to make money, for stuff I didn't have. I worked to buy my own home-wear. I worked to buy my own notebooks and school supplies. I was forced to be completely independent at the naive age of four, so this had been a huge change for me.

Being able to just buy a hoodie without needing to clean a neighbour's entire house was refreshing. Besides, I couldn't continue stealing everything I had needed if I wanted to garner the public's trust. I needed to be seen as a public figure for my schemes to be successful, and no one would trust a thief. No matter what my reasons were. I needed the trust of the public for my ascension. For my vision.

"We removed the 'Villain' part and expanded on the concept of liberation. Furthermore, I appoint the nine individuals you see here as my lieutenants, who will each be forming teams suited to their separate needs." I explained to the crowd below me. "Though, that name's simply decoration. Although I'd prefer we proceed forward in an orderly and organized fashion... We're going to do whatever the hell we want!"

Cheers erupted from the thousands of soldiers beneath me, as I began to walk away from the crowd, and instructed the former grand commander to leave me alone in irritation. He had been kissing my ass for the past week and it annoyed the hell out of me.

My body felt heavy and as I continued walking with my friends towards our common room, causing me to fall to the ground in pain. The injuries I had sustained were not limited to my missing forearm, as it had seemed. Upon countless body-scans and x-rays, it was revealed that I had sustained a cracked tailbone, as well as a few bruised ribs and a cracked floating rib on my right side. Those were the most severe injuries I had received—alongside a few large bruises that littered my body.

"It's a miracle he was even standing at all, given his wounds..." Mr. Compress stated as I groaned from my place on the ground.

"What an overblown new name! Though it's certainly better than 'League Of Villains' which always felt so tacky." The Doctor spoke from the transmitter I had in my ear.

"Hey. I tamed Machia." I began, wanting to know whether or not I would truly be obtaining All For One's cloned quirk. "That's how you and Mr. All For One wanted me to prove myself, if I remember right."

"You talking to Doc Ujiko?" Mr. Compress asked, receiving no reply as I listened to the Doctor's response.

"As promised... I'll give you power if that's what you desire." The Doctor spoke, causing a grin to break loose from underneath the excruciating pain of my injuries.

"Well, then..." I started—holding in my laughter but letting a few giggles slip away from containment. "I suppose it's time I pay you a visit, ay, Doctor?"

There were whispers—echoing throughout the halls of the Endeavor agency, and the school. Talk of some large scale attack to be performed in a few months, if my eavesdropping was correct. Whispers of an opponent stronger than anything we'd ever seen before—matching All For One's power.

As the months passed during our work studies with Endeavor, our agencies had called us in for a trip. I was almost certain it was to do with all the talk of a warlike battle to occur soon, when I had heard that some of my classmates would be going on a work studies trip on the same day as Kacchan, Todoroki, and I were.

Scratch that.

I was positive.

Every hero in Japan seemed to have arrived for this battle we would partake in—including the hero course students. This would be one of the biggest fights in history—and I would be partaking in it.

We had been split into three teams during this operation. The first team was in charge of the evacuation, and clearing the areas near where we had thought the battle could leak into—this was the team that Kacchan, Todoroki and I were all placed on, sadly. We had been on the one team that wouldn't be doing any actual hero work; meanwhile, most of our classmates would be fighting and making a name for themselves. I felt duped, but Todoroki told me to just smile it off because we would be helping regardless of our team, and if we finished the evacuation early, we could always join the others.

In other words, we were back up.

I inwardly scoffed as that thought traversed my mind.

Backup...

I was the daughter of fucking All Might—the previous number one hero—and these extras decided to make me their back up?!

What a rip.

The second team would be raiding some hospital. Apparently, there had been a doctor at Jaku Hospital that the heroes had thought was in affiliations with the League Of Villains and All For One, and if that were true, that would mean that this doctor could know where my brother was hiding—if he wasn't at the location where the third team would be, that is.

The third team was to be taking care of the League. Or rather, the Paranormal Liberation Front, as we heard they now went by. Apparently, the hero commission had a spy amongst the Paranormal Liberation Front, and this spy was who had been giving us our information. Information on the location of the Army we would be battling. Information on the potential threats we would be facing. Information about the entire operation.

With all the information we had been given, it seemed like this would be an easy takedown—at least if I were a part of one of the teams that would be attacking this army. So, I needed to wrap up with these idiot civilians, and help out with the real hero work.

"They're moving in!" A pro hero yelled out to the group behind her as she held her hand to her earpiece.

So that means...

"It's our move."
