《That Day // Villain Deku》Chapter 54 : Oh My God...

I entered through the doors of the base with a loud bang—nervous about what was to come. I still wasn't quite sure what All For One was asking me to do. He was asking me to win over his bodyguard, but he didn't specify exactly how to go about doing that.

"Hey, guys! We gotta go!" I called out to my team.

Toga and Twice looked up from the T.V to glance at me as I spoke; meanwhile, the others paid practically no mind to my outburst. Giving me a confused look, Toga began to question me.

"We gotta go? Where?"

"I just spoke to All For One, and he wants us to leave the base." I answered, picking up pillows and throwing them on Dabi—who had been asleep.

"Jesus! Ok, I'm up! What the hell do you want, Yagi?" He yelled at me in anguish—finally acknowledging my presence.

"As I just said we gotta go!" I repeated myself to the irritable man in front of me.

Pulling him to his feet, Dabi wabbled past me and grabbed his coat from the coffee table. As we were about to exit the room, I remembered something I had kept to the back of my mind up until now: The girl.

I had almost forgotten about her. I couldn't leave her here—since no one would be around to make sure she stayed out of trouble—but I also couldn't take her with me. The only realistic options would be to either recruit her now, or kill her if she resists. Sighing, I turned to the other members of the League, who were growing impatient as I delayed, and told them I'd be right back.

All I could hear as I dashed down the corridors of the base were the aggravated groans of my friends. My room was on the third floor, and the common area was on the first floor, so to save time, I ran to the place on the first floor, parallel to my room, and activated Ghost before floating through the ceilings and entering my room.

The periwinkle-haired girl sat, calmly, in a pile of bodily-fluids on my floor with a grin. She looked completely out of her mind as her hands felt for the pieces of flesh beneath her, and I knew that my plan would work.

I walked over to her and reached out my hand—for her to grasp—before speaking.

"So, are you ready to join?" I asked her with a voice of certainty and confidence that she would say yes.

She grabbed my hand and hoisted herself up before looking up at me. I knew what she would say as soon as I saw the expression she wore on her face. Her blue eyes were widened to a point where I was astonished that they weren't bulging out of their sockets. Her eyebrows were lifted higher than I had even though possible—creating wrinkles in her forehead; meanwhile, her smile was the most noticeable of her features.

Her grin was wide and twisted, and you could tell her smile wasn't genuine at all from a quick first glance. It was a grin as wide as that of the Cheshire Cat. It was an eerie smile, that could make a pro quake in their boots. It was a horrifying smile, that looked as if it were being held up by staples or string. It was an unnatural smile, that belonged to a person far beyond saving. A person that had completely lost everything that held meaning—in their eyes. A person that had nothing left to lose.

I felt a grin pricking at my face, similar to hers, as I heard the words she uttered past her clenched teeth.

"I want to fix society, and I want to help you. I want to fix society, and I want to help you. I want to fix society and I want to help you." She repeated over, and, over, and over again, taking chunks of her hair in her hands as she continued to stare at me.

I grabbed her hand, and led her out of my room and through the halls of the base, as she continued to mouth the same words over, and over again in a low whisper—continuing to sport her stare, and grin as a trophy of sorts.

She's completely out of her mind!

I grinned as I thought of those words. She was just as nutty as I was, if not more, and I liked it. I liked how easy it was to manipulate her. I liked how quickly her sanity had slipped out of her reach. I liked how completely insane she had gotten in as little as a week.

Perfect people always seem to lose it when they don't get everything they wanted.

People die, people live, but when a perfect person, with a perfect life, and a perfect family has something taken from them, they give up.

When a person who's never experienced true hardship, experiences one taste of misfortune they lose their mind.

I was partially annoying about how that worked. There are people out there living lives with absolutely nothing to complain about, yet when something goes wrong, they flip out. Screaming about how much life hated them, and how much they wished they could end it all when they get so much as a paper cut.

It's sad, but it's true.

As we entered the common room, I heard a squeal. It was high pitched and gleeful, and I could tell immediately who it was directed towards and why. Toga skipped past me with haste before clinging onto the girl behind me—covered in blood.

"Blood! I just love blood! Is this that girl you captured, Izu-chan? I like her!"

I laughed slightly, forgetting my past anger and continued walking towards the door. Putting on my shoes, I turned back towards the periwinkle-haired girl—still mumbling the same lines—and proceeded to give her instructions.

"Now, go back to U.A, and act as if nothing's wrong. Tell your classmates and teachers that you had wanted to get away from the stress you were feeling, and take any and all heat they throw at you."

With those words, and a slight nod from the smiling, wide-eyed girl, the League and I left the base and began our journey.

We had begun our journey by walking to a nearby forest and looking for a clearing in the trees. I wasn't completely sure where I was leading the League, but I knew I needed to find a place that was secluded enough that we wouldn't be disrupted by the heroes, and flat enough that we would have a place to set up camp for the next few days.

We also needed to be in cell-range so that, in the case of an emergency, we would be reachable by phone—worst-case-scenario I'd be reachable by pager.

It was a gruelling few hours walk that we had been subjected to, and the 'happy campers' were starting to get agitated. From being cozy and comfortable in the common room of our base—watching T.V and, in some cases, sleeping—to being pushed out the door of our home, and forced to walk in a forest—in the snow—in the middle of the night, I could understand their protesting.

Twice and Toga were getting angry and antsy—being the childish idiots that they are—and started complaining as we walked, which only made the trip that much more agonizing to endure.

I could tell even the calmer of our group were starting to get annoyed with Toga and Twice's nagging and whining, so as we came across a clearing in the woods—a good distance from the city—I decided we'd make camp and set out for a more permanent camp at first light.

"Ok, let's stop here, and we'll pick things up in the morning." I said, hearing the thankful sighs of relief from my comrades.

Dabi, Spinner, and Mr. Compress sighing in relief because they knew Twice, and Toga would finally stop complaining, and Toga, and Twice because they knew they could finally stop walking.

As the six of us began putting our coats and hoodies overtop the snow and ourselves, I began to feel a coldness falling over me. Opening my eyes, I noticed that it had started snowing again. It wasn't much snow; however, I knew that we would catch colds—if not hypothermia—by morning if we stayed out in the snow. I then had an idea.

Turning on my cellphone—seeing that I had a signal—I began looking up the schematics for a certain build. Finding the exact measurements for everything I had needed, I stood up and shook, the already asleep, Twice awake.

I was honestly surprised how he—along with the other members of the League—could sleep in these conditions, but I decided to just let it go, and think more about getting my team warm, rather than why they could sleep cold.

"Bubaigawara. Bubaugawara. Bubaugawara." I called out as I shook my sleeping friend.

"Wah-"

"I need you to make something." I explained.

"What?" He asked in a dazed state—obviously still confused from being woken up so randomly.

"Here." I said as I shoved my bright phone screen into his face.

"Ah! Why the hell don't you have 'dark-mode' on, Yagi?" He cried out as he shielded his face from the brightness of my phone screen. "I like it."

"Anyways, I need you to make this."

Adjusting his eyes to the light of my phone, he grabbed my device and began to stand up, studying the measurement I had found for him. He then proceeded to make the thing I had told him to.

A tent.

The tent I had found online listed every single detail of the tent that Twice would need to make it. Height, two-hundred and fifty centimetres; weight, ten-point-five kilograms; width, four-hundred centimetres; length, four-hundred centimetres; material, cotton; fabric, oxford cloth; etc. Every detail was listed in the description.

Waterproof and weather-resistant, the tent could hold up to eight people in any climate. Perfect for our snowy predicament.

As Twice finished making the tent, I started moving our friends inside. I picked up member after member—bridal style—and carried them inside the tent, making sure not to disturb their sleep like I had Bubaugawara's. Once everyone was inside, and Twice decided to go to sleep, I noticed how cold they all still looked. I had shielded them all from the now blizzarding skies; however, it was still quite cold inside.

Waking up Twice, once again, before he had the chance to actually fall asleep, I asked him to make one more thing for me, and after showing him the schematics for the build, I fell asleep happily—thinking about my friends.

"Aww! Izu-chan really does care!"

"I know right? I was like 'Wow, Yagi, that's so thoughtful of you!', he's such a great friend! I could do without him."

"Will you two shut up? Some of us are trying to sleep..."

I felt my eyes flickering open as I heard the noises of my friend's fighting in the tent. Becoming annoyed with the bickering, I hid my head in the extra-large duvet I had Twice make. It was large enough that everyone would be able to fit under it, and we'd still have more blanket to spare. I've shared a bed with Tomura before, so I know all about blanket wars.

I shivered at the thought of our blanket war, despite the warmth I felt under the duvet and began to fall back asleep until I felt the crushing weight of someone lunging themselves onto me.

I grunted, feeling the weight of an entire human person come crashing down on my peaceful form and instantly knew who it was.

"Toga... Get. Off. Me. Now." I spoke dangerously, pausing between every word for dramatic effect.

The girl on top of me giggled slightly and rolled off of me and under the duvet.

"That's it. Everybody up, we should get moving." I started. "Rise and shine, buttercup," I yelled as I pulled the blanket from Dabi, who had been hiding underneath it.

Groaning, he hesitantly opened his eyes and glared at me; however, he knew better than to pick a fight with me when I'm tired, so he backed down as he saw my own glare.

I had Dabi wake up Spinner, while Twice woke up Mr. Compress. That way, I didn't have to deal with more tired and angry people today. I was angry about being awoken; although, deep down I was glad because I knew that we would need all the time we could get to find a proper location for whatever awaited us the next day.

Leaving the tent, I realized that I should be calculating the amount of time left on the clock—approximately—as to not get stuck in the middle of the woods when the timer had run out.

I had left All For One at 6:58 pm yesterday, and it was currently 9:32 am.

That would mean that it's been fourteen hours and thirty-four minutes since the timer had started.

Which gives us about thirty-three hours and twenty-six minutes left to find a proper location, give or take.

"Hey, Izu-chan! Whatcha thinkin' about?" Toga beamed as she skipped out of the tent and towards me.

"How much time we have left..."

"Left? What do you mean?"

"Oh, I guess I haven't told you what we're doing out here yet, huh?" I asked.

"Nope, we've all just blindly been following you for the past fourteen hours" She laughed in response.

"Well, All For One has made me his new successor, since Tomura..." I paused as I thought of what I had done to my brother. "Well, I'm his new successor, and to inherit his power, All For One wants me, alongside the others, to win over his old bodyguard."

"What did he mean by that?"

"I have no idea... All that I do know is that we have around... thirty-three hours and twenty-five minutes left before All For One sends his bodyguard to hunt us down."

"Scary..." Toga stated. "By the way, I've been meaning to ask..." She began again.

I looked at her as she glanced back at me, looking more serious than I had ever seen her.

"Before we left, when you were dragging that hero-course student through the halls of the base... You looked pissed off."

She caught that?

"It was brief, but it was evident." She clarified.

"Damn my mumbling..."

"You weren't mumbling. I could just tell that was what you were thinking."

She's reading me like a book.

"It was too easy." I started. "How quickly that girl seemed to lose herself to her rage."

Toga must have realized how rare it was for me to open up about my feelings, so she began to listen attentively.

"She turned into a copy of myself—with less restraint—after one week of being on the losing side of life. I spent ten years on the side of misfortune. Ten fucking years in hell on Earth. I spent almost my whole life dealing with misfortune after misfortune until I finally snapped." I explained. "And that girl, that perfect person, with her perfect family, her perfect friends, and her perfect little life... That perfect girl had one lousy week. One terrible week, and now she's completely lost it. Her bad week would be a Tuesday for me. So, watching as that perfect girl completely lost her marbles after one week of hardship, it just made me so annoyed."

"That's not true." Toga started.

"What?"

"Perfect people don't exist. You and I would know that better than anyone else."

"She had it so easy, and after one papercut she turned into a copy of what I am. I was forged out of hatred and darkness, while she lived a perfect life full of happiness and light."

"Perfect is an unobtainable standard. Perfect is a lie. Perfect is a word that was meant to put a strain on those that want to be seen as flawless."

She's right.

I used to be better at looking through other peoples' perspectives. I guess over the years, I've become more closed-minded.

"I'm such a fucking hypocrite..." I stated. "You're right. Perfect people don't exist, not All Might, not you, not me."

"I've been looking... Finally found you. I was waiting for the signal... Are you the one who succeeded All For One?" A voice cut me off.

Oh my God.
