《That Day // Villain Deku》Chapter 38 : I'll See You Around...

I left the room and began walking to the meeting point Chisaki had shown me earlier. It was quite far away from where I was, so halfway to the spot, I activated Ghost. Flying through the walls and ceiling as fast as I could, I made it to Chisaki and the others in record time.
By that I mean ten minutes late.
"Finally. Now we can get moving..." Chisaki sighed—letting his annoyance leak out—as I smiled sheepishly.
I had manufactured and distributed a bird's-eye-view layout of the Shie Hassaikai base to Tomura prior to today, so that we could plan a time for Tomura to intercept Chisaki. We had a difficult time figuring out how we could isolate Chisaki—considering that Kurogiri was supposedly busy that day—but in the end, we convinced Kurogiri to 'blow it off'.
Hah, I had to...
Of course, convincing Kurogiri to warp Nemoto, Eri and I out of the room was futile, since Overhaul was already planning on taking Tomura on his own. The League didn't know that Overhaul had intentions of killing Tomura and vise versa. It was only Tomura who had known about Chisaki's plans, and only Chisaki who had known of Tomura's plans. I was the only one who knew of both the ploys. It was honestly quite funny; although, during their fight, if one of them were to expose my treachery and the other were to live, then I'd be in some hot water.
Imagine, Overhaul mentioning to Tomura that I had betrayed him, and then—by some miracle—Tomura survives...
That's not going to be good for business...
That's not going to be god for anyone...
I chuckled to myself as I thought of my jokes, causing Chisaki to look back at me.
"What? Is something funny?" He asked me sharply as he continued to walk.
"No, sir, just thinking about a movie..." I laughed.
"Well anyway, we've almost arrived to the back entrance, I thought you had said Shigaraki would be intercepting us?"
"Yeah, I'm sure he'll be here any minute." I answered back calmly.
Thoughts began roaming my mind as I internally panicked.
What if he's late?
What if he doesn't show?
What if he somehow figured out my plan and is planning my death as we speak?
I slapped myself as my mind raced to every possible conclusion, in an attempt to calm myself. Looking up, I noticed Chisaki staring back at me—wide eyed.
This is going great.
"Ok, what the hell is up with you, kid-?"
Before Chisaki could continue his question, a purple mist began to envelop Nemoto and I.
"He's here." I smiled slightly as Chisaki uttered those words.
Before Nemoto and I had the chance to disappear, Chisaki handed Eri to Nemoto. Before I even had the opportunity to gaze upon Tomura's facial expression, I was suddenly warped to the other side of the base.
Now, I just need to wait...
"He's here."
I watched—mildly intrigued—as Overhaul spoke. Something about his words made my mind spin.

He's here...
It were almost as if he had known—prior to my arrival—that I would be coming. Watching as Izuku, a little girl, and a tall, slender man in a mask—similar to Overhaul's, disappeared, I noticed a twisted smile forming on Izuku's face. It reeked of malice and enjoyment, and shook me to my core.
I'll have to think about that later...
Kurogiri offered to warp them away, but if things had gotten rough and started to go downhill, he wouldn't be able to help me out. It made sense. He was off on a secret hunt for something Master had wanted to leave us, if on the slight chance, he had been defeated by the heroes the day of All Might's death.
"So, shall we get this started?" I asked the man in front of me with a grin.
He looked at me bored—as if he thought he could actually kill me—and began to stalk over to me, removing his gloves.
"Let's get this over with."
Izuku had given me information regarding his quirk and the general philosophy of its nature. He can dismember and reassemble anything he touches at will. So, what that means is if he touches me, it's pretty much game over.
No matter...
I have a few tricks up my sleeve as well...
Izuku had just left. He finished briefing me on Overhaul's quirk. I was in a panic as I thought of what I would do. Strong people have come after me in the past, sure, but a one-hit-kill is way too overpowered. It seems like a cheat code. Of course, my quirk can also be a one-hit kill—depending on where I strike.
My panic was short-lived however, after Toga had entered the new base. I was, at first, annoyed as I heard her high-pitched, squeaky, rubber-duck voice echoing throughout the base, and even more so after she sat down on the couch next to me.
"Hey, boss!" She started.
I groaned in displeasure before beginning to get up and escape the one-sided conversation that would soon follow. Just as I was about to lift myself off the couch, I heard her whinny voice calling for me to 'wait a minute', before she pulled me back down. I snarled at her, and she let go of my arm without hesitation.
"What do you want?" I growled at her in a dry whisper, taking her aback.
"Moody, huh? I though talking to Izu-chan calms you down, boss-man?" She spoke in a questioning voice as she stated that fact.
Yeah, normally talking to my 'kid-brother' was calming. He always made me laugh, or at the very least crack a smile; however, not during the conversation we had been having about Overhaul.
"Any-who, I'm here to report what I know!" She spoke happily and energetically.
"Whatever..." I sighed.
"I found out..." She started before looking both left and right to see if anyone were there—as if it would have mattered either way. "The Shie Hassaikai are manufacturing quirk-erasing bullets."

My face must have lit up like a Christmas tree because Toga began laughing in hysteria.
This is perfect.
"Could you maybe..." I paused as I thought for a moment.
"Steal one of their bullets..?"
I watched as Overhaul stalked over to me and began lifting his arm, so I quickly moved out of the way. I ran back towards him, extending my arm to disintegrate his; meanwhile he crouched down and touched the floor. The ground began to spike, and dodging was out of the question.
His speed is unmeasurable.
I was hoping to do have some fun first...
As a ground-spike was heading straight for me, I cocked my gun with the quirk-erasing bullet loaded. Aiming, I fired the gun and watched as it pierced Overhaul's chest. The ground immediately stopped shooting towards me as Overhaul screamed in agony—crumbling to his knees.
It was quite the show.
I walked slowly—with a sinister grin—as I laughed at him, watching his eyes staring up at me, as he laid crippled on the ground—realizing he had just been shot with one of his own inventions. His own cure to the disease known as society.
His own quirk-erasing bullet.
"How did you-?" He began, but I cut him off as I stood at my destination, towering over his figure.
"I have loyal comrades, y'know." I started, watching as he gasped. "You made a mistake, telling my 'little brother' about your ploy to murder me."
"Wait, what-"
I cut him off by placing my hand overtop his face, and watched as his body crumbled in front of me with a grin. I was, of course, left wondering what he would have said if I had let him live a moment longer.
Oh well.
Doesn't matter anymore.
As soon as Kurogiri's mist quickly dissipated into the air, I quickly cocked and aimed my gun towards Eri. Eri was the center of Overhaul's plan, and if that girl had died, the Shie Hassaikai would be nothing more than a mole hill among mountains.
If I had aimed at the girl, Nemoto would have no choice but to comply. If I were a hero, though, he would have called my bluff, but since he knows I'm the merciless killer that murdered my own father, it's less obvious that I'd never hurt a seven year old child.
"Hand over the girl, Nemoto."
As I spoke those words I saw the fear in the girl's eyes. She was shaking as she stared into my cold, ice-filled eyes.
"What are you doing?" He asked me with a steady voice, disregarding the fact that if he had moved even an inch, I could very well fire my weapon.
"Put down the girl, now." I instructed him sternly. "I'm going rogue, and I'd suggest you release her before I shoot."
"And if I don't?"
I hadn't even thought about what I'd do if he refused me. I knew that he'd give his life to protect Chisaki's dream, which is why I fired.
I watched as Eri dropped to the floor with blood drenching her form. Her eyes were wide, looking scared and dead. She looked dead.
Even more so than Nemoto, with a bullet wound in between his eyes.
The split-second I had spent before firing my handgun was spent switching targets from Eri to Nemoto, leaving him no time to dodge. Eri slowly turned her eyes from mine to the lifeless body on the floor—blood still gushing from his head.
"Sorry, I wanted to have him hand you over without any bloodshed, but it didn't look like he'd give up..."
She looked back at me, still shaking, before backing away from me. Her body met the wall as she fearfully stared at me.
"Hey, it's ok, don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you." I tried to console her, but her eyes only traced the firearm, still in my hand.
I slowly crouched down, leaving my gun on the floor as I smiled softly at her.
"See, it's ok..." I spoke with a smile as she slowed her breathing, still keeping her distance. "It's ok, sit down, let's get to know each other a bit." My smile rested unwavering, as an attempt at deterring from the fact that I just murdered a man in front of her.
"Eri, right?" I asked her as she sat down. "My name's Yagi Izuku, but you can just call me Izuku, or Izu-chan." I lifted my hand to shake hers, but she backed away, causing a frown to appear on my face.
Was this because of whatever Chisaki had done to her, or what I did just now.
I retracted my hand as I noticed her shaking again. She began fiddling with her dress, obviously anxious with my presence. I couldn't just leave her here. I needed to wait at least until I can hear a hero coming, otherwise any member of the Yakuza could easily take her back into possession.
"Uhm..." I sighed as I tapped the floor. "Do you like heroes?" I asked the girl.
She looked back up at me, still a slight hint of fear in her eyes, before answering.
"Y-Yes..."
"That's cool, who's your favourite?"
As soon as we started talking, she began to open up; however, she wouldn't smile, and I could tell she was still keeping her distance from me. As she was deep in conversation, ranking her favourite heroes, I heard the sounds of shoes tapping on the ground.
The heroes.
Quickly getting up—startling her again—I began to speak.
"I'm sorry, but I have to go now... Don't worry, the heroes will be here soon. You might even get to meet your favourite heroes."
She seemed at ease as I mentioned the heroes; although, she almost looked saddened upon hearing I'd be leaving. Before leaving, I uttered one final sentence with a smile.
"I'll see you around..."
