This one was a little weirdly played out but I think it ended up pretty great. A lot of my requests recently have been really dark lol, which is cool cause I wanted to do some darker themed chapters.
Warning: this chapter contains implied character death, although it doesn't have to be taken that way

Enjoy.

"You're a liability."
"I'm taking you back for the police to deal with."
"Maybe I'll get my job back."
Faitsu pursed her lips, walking defeatedly behind Rakutsu, her hand was cuffed to his as he drug her through the cave they found themselves in.
She tried not to make any noise as tears fell down her face in silence. She saw the back of the man she had once thought she had loved, but it was all just an unemotional man atop a throne of lies and deceit.
"Did you not feel anything?" She croaked as he continued walking, he didn't even flinch at her statement.
"What? Love?" He started, "That's a weakness used to get information out of suspects, have to say it took a while to get it to work on you though."
Every word felt like a painful stab to the heart. She had once sworn her heart to Lord N, and the moment she tried to give it to someone else, it was ripped from her grasp and crushed without a second thought. No chance of returned feelings or desires.
She felt her chest go from a stabbing pain, to a hollow ache. Her vision dulled, her feeling going numb as the truth of her entire situation hit her. She stopped.
Rakutsu turned around, his state just as intense as it had been earlier, "I don't have time for this, come on." He yanked at the cuffs, dragging her forward a step.

She wanted to hate him, she wanted to despise every fiber of his being, but he held her heart tight in his clutches, holding her slave to her feelings, she couldn't get over the first taste of love that she had once felt.
"I was willing to do anything for you." Her voice trembled.
"You'll do anything to save your own skin. Just like everyone else, including myself. I've been trained to deal with people who try to force their fake feelings on me, I wont fall for it." He spat at her, pulling her along again as he looked for an exit.
"It hurts."
"I don't care. Deal with it."
She hadn't meant the cuffs, but she didn't say anything.
They sat in a cautious, uncomfortable silence. They seemed to have been walking in circles with no clear direction. They must be really lost if the super deducted Lack-two couldn't find their way out.
"Damn!" He punched a wall, a bit crumbling off the wall. She could tell that he was losing his temper, which was saying something since he had been so calm for the majority of their time together, even after his unemphatic reveal.
She felt a small quake, barely noticeable, but it caught her attention as more of the wall and seeing crumbled. Her eyes widened as a crack formed above them.
Rakutsu seemed to notice as well, and for a moment, she saw a flash of fear in his eyes. He had always been under control, and to have this many unforeseen events in one day must have been cracking down on him.
He said he carried no emotions, but she knew different. She wanted to believe that some part of their interactions had been real, they had to be.
A rock shifted above them, and before she could think she pushed Rakutsu, feeling the weight of the rock crush her abdomen.

In a frantic rush Rakutsu unlocked their handcuffs, throwing them to the side, "Would you rather ruin my career than repent for your sins?" He said with a flash of hurt in his eyes.
"No!" She grunted, trying to pull herself from under the rock, "I didn't want this, I'm afraid of death, please help!" She cried realizing the situation she found herself in. The pain was excruciating and the thoughts of leaving this world plagued her mind.
"Then why?" He said, paying no heed to her words for the moment.
"I saw your fear, reflected in your eyes for a moment. I hoped that something in that expression was real." She grunted.
"I don't want to die!" She gasped out, her hands pulling against the floor as the air was crushed out of her.
Rakutsu's eyes widened, the fear returning as he looked over her body for the first time since she was crushed. He stood up and immediately began trying to push the rock off.
"I've made a mistake," he grunted against the rock, she almost shrieked as a part of it pushed further into her back, "this goes against everything I stand for. What are you doing to me?"
He pulled out his phone, "Looker we have a problem!" He shouted, "Now is not the time to tell me where I stand!" She could tell he was getting a little high strung, but she found solace in the fact that he felt for her, at least in this moment.
"I'm sorry Lord N." She whispered.
"Don't leave me now, Whi!" He shook her arm, but she was exhausted, her adrenaline spent from her earlier fight.
"Please don't go..." his voice faded off as she closed her eyes, letting darkness encompass her.

8 88Ode to Fallen Angels
Jericho, the land of humanity, squirms in pain. Magic has been forbidden for so long in this so called "Age of Silence", that all Arcane knowledge has been presumed lost and irrecoverable, and the echoes of God's Will grow fainter with every passing year. The sight of Demihuman caravans is less frequent every day, as the likes of orcs and elves have learned to no longer beg for help from those who despise them. Clearly, they can expect more from the voracious wild lands than from humankind. Many have succumbed to despair, some driven mad by their fruitless efforts to bring back a Golden Age that they only ever read about in books. And in the middle of it all, in an old chapel lost in the Eastern lands, young Gabrielle lives in complete ignorance. She is another orphan living under the mercy of the Church of the Saints; one bearing the mark of evil in her red hair, the telltale sign of a Witch. In an Age of the Silent, the Prejudiced, and the Hateful, she clings to a single hope: that one day, be it in life or maybe after it all ends, she may find herself forgiven of her sin. The sin of being born.
