《Poké Oneshots [Requests Temporarily Closed]》Polishipping

This ship is a little challenging to write for, but I see why people like it nonetheless. Red is of course dense, while Gold likes to flirt, but Red is also a bit more mature than Gold is, given their age difference and Gold's sort of play boy personality.
actually helped me come up with the scenario for this one, so I wanted to credit them.

"You wanna go to the beach?" Gold asked as Polibo as the gleeful Politoed looked at a flyer at the Pokemon Center. He realized that he hadn't taken Polibo out much in terms of playing in the water, save for maybe a trip to a local pool now and then.
It could do the both of them good, a little sun never hurt anybody.
"How about Cianwood, does that sound nice?" The beach town would be perfect for Polibo, and Gold could rest on its sandy beaches when he wasn't in the water.
He was surprised when Polibo shook his head.
"Well then where do you want to go?" He asked, unsure of why Politoed would turn down his offer.
The frog Pokemon pulled the flier off of the board and handed it to his trainer. Gold read over the flyer before looking back at his Politoed sarcastically.
"You want to fly all the way to Vermillion? To go to the beach?" He asked, but his Politoed's eyes never ceased in their sparkling as it nodded.
Gold sighed, giving in, he really couldn't say no to that face. He rubbed his Polibo's head and returned it to its Pokeball, "Vermillion it is I guess."
Taking out Togebo he flew towards the Kanto region, he landed in front of the Pokemon center after almost 45 minutes of flying.
"Thanks Togebo, you rock." He said, the Togekiss taking a moment to look proud before they headed off to the beach. Luckily it wasn't too crowded today, except for a few people here and there.
"Alright guys, let's have some fun!" He said, releasing all of his Pokemon from their Pokeballs. Aibo and Pibu jumped right in with a splash, Pibu immediately making a ruckus with playful splashes.
Sunbo stood at the edge of the water, playing in the shallows, while Exbo and Sudobo opted to stay on land and play in the sand.
Togebo was floating on the water with Aibo and Pibu, taking a moment every now and then to mess with the small Pichu by making waves with its wings.
Polibo looked like didn't know where to start, it was probably the happiest Gold had ever seen it. Which was why he was shocked when it ran the other direction.
He turned to the frog to find that it was running down the beach instead of towards the water.

"Hey, Polibo! Where are you going?" He yelled but it didn't turn back to him. Next thing he knew, his Politoed had punched on someone else's Poliwrath.
Gold ran after it and pulled it off of the Poliwrath who then stood up happily playing with it as if they knew one another, "Hey you cant just tackle random Pokemon!" He said laughing a little.
He looked at the Poliwrath who nodded to him happily as well.
"Wait a minute. Poli?" He asked the Pokemon and it nodded, "Does that mean-"
"Hey Gold!" He heard a familiar voice and looked up to find the first Dexholder, Red waving back to him from his spot on the sand.
He felt his face heat up a little at the sight of The Fighter in casual swim wear, a lot more of the man on show than he was used to seeing. Though he could blame the heat on the sun. That's what he was going to do.
"Hey Red, what're you doing here?" He asked, confused as to why his senior was lounging on the beach, Gold didn't think he had seen Red do anything other than battle before.
Red huffed, looking a little defeated, "Misty called me out, told me I wasn't taking Poli to the beach enough. Apparently she goes to the beach at least once a week with her Pokemon."
His face lightened up when he looked at Poli though, "She might be right though, its it's been a while since I've taken a break with my Pokemon." Gold noticed Pika curled up next to him, relaxing.
Now that he looked around, he could see the trainer's other Pokemon too. Snorlax was sleeping loudly a couple yards away, Saur was splashing Vee in the shallow water, and Vee was deflecting the splashes back playfully with its psychic powers.
He saw Gyara far off in the water, swimming gracefully, and he noticed Aero perched peacefully, surveying the beach, from its spot on Snorlax's belly.
It was always amazing to Gold, how much Red bonded with his Pokemon. Despite not taking any big breaks often his Pokemon loved him with every ounce of their being, it was moving for The Breeder.
He wished that he could reach that level of trust and adoration with his own Pokemon as well.
"What are you doing here Gold?" Red asked, the champions smile never ceasing. It rarely did, save for in drastic situations, Red was probably one of the most optimistic people he knew.
"Polibo wanted a day off at the beach, I asked him if he wanted to go to Cianwood, but he wanted to fly all the way out here instead." Gold said scratching his head, at least he could visit the Celadon game corner later he supposed.
"Well, at least coming here meant I got to see you!" Red said happily and his blatancy made Gold blush a little, though he of all people knew how dense Red was when it came to the words coming out of his mouth.

Red wasn't very quick on the uptake when it came to things like this, which is why Gold has been sporting a crush on him for years now.
Gold sat down next to Red, waving to his Pokemon so that they knew where he was. Now that his other Pokemon were aware of the other trainer's presence, they began to play with his Pokemon as well.
"How did you meet Polibo?" Red asked a little lightly, like he was thinking about something happy from his past.
"Hmm? Oh, I've known him since he was born. I raised him myself." He replied remembering the tiny Poliwag that used to run around his room, "You? How'd you meet Poli?"
Red chuckled a little, "My response isn't quite as heartwarming as that. I met him in the water at the edge of Pallet Town, he was my first Pokemon." He said, thinking of days back when his journey had started.
Gold wishes he had been there to see that. Seeing Red in the beginning of his quest as a Dexholder. He'd heard stories from Yellow and Green, but actually being there would've been something else.
"I thought Pika was your first Pokemon. You two are so close that I just figured he had to be." Gold began to pet Pikachu who rolled over to accept his rubs.
"Pika wasn't too fond of me when I first caught him in Pewter. Although he stays in his Pokeball most of the time, hes not to fond of it, so I let him out a little more often than the others." He rubbed Pika as well, his hand coming into contact with Gold's making his skin crawl.
Gold took his hand away a little fast, but Red didn't seem to notice as he looked at all of their Pokemon on the beach. He sighed to himself in relief, the last thing he needed to do was ruin this moment with The Fighter with his awkward emotions.
But then the thought always came to mind, hes flirted before, why not now? Why not with Red? Is it because this is real? Maybe since his flirting was always hollow with no meaning to it, flirting with someone he actually liked would be a challenge.
He felt something climb into his lap, and he found that Pibu had scuttled over to them. Probably jealous of all the attention Gold was giving Pika, the little glutton.
Gold happily gave in and began petting the Pichu. He tried to think of ways to get Red's attention, but came to no immediate answer.
He followed Red's eyes to where they landed, on Polibo and Poli again. The two played together so nicely, as if they had known each other forever, Gold wishes that they had that. But Red was three years his senior, they didn't have that kind of connection.
"You know Gold..." Red broke the silence and Gold realized he might've been staring a little longer than he should've, "I'm not as dense as Green tells you I am." He chuckled.
Gold's blood ran cold.
"Though in guess it did take a while." He scratched his head in apology and Gold was still trying to wrap his head around it all.
"Wha-what are you talking about?" He asked, his mind wandering to places he couldn't even dream of. It was hard to keep a right mind.
For a moment there was a stiff silence, before Red stood up abruptly, "Nothing really, we can talk about that stuff after we've had our fill of the beach!" He ran out towards the water, "Race ya!"
He took off running for the waters edge, and in a rush of competitiveness he jumped up and raced after him, both of them laughing their hearts out.
Gold almost tackled Togebo as he jumped into the water, startling the flying Pokemon. He threw his hands up in the air in victory, splashing in the water.
Gold looked up to find Red lounging in the water as if he'd been there all day, "What took you so long Gold?" He laughed heartily, before yelping as Gold splashed him with water.
Soon all of their Pokemon had joined in, and their epic splash war ended with a bang as Gyara plunged its tail into the water, successfully soaking trainers and Pokemon alike.
After their fun Gold had taken his Pokemon ashore and was currently drying them off with towels. He was about to dry off Polibo when he wandered off again towards Red.
"Hey, hey, hey, you gotta stop wandering off like that." He said, grabbing his Politoed to thoroughly dry him off. Red smiled down at them and Gold felt like he was shrinking under his gaze.
He stood up, smiling back at Red, "Well, I guess we'll get going, its getting pretty late." He said, looking at the setting sun in the distance, "Oh, there was something you were going to tell me right?" Gold recalled their conversation from earlier.
The taller individual leaned down, placing a small childish kiss to Gold's cheek before signaling for Aero to get ready to leave, "Meet here next week?" Red asked.
Gold nodded, a little dazed, but his heart soared. His hand held his cheek and he watched Red fly off. Polibo was going to be seeing the beach a lot more often.
