This is sort of a Homestuck/Hiveswap AU. Red is a troll while Yellow is from Earth, it takes place on Alternia. Red as a troll is aesthetic, and this chapter is pretty nice in my opinion.

I might make a part 2 later on if you guys want. This one isn't that shippy, but I feel like if I wrote more I could've gotten some more shippy stuff in there. I just got caught up in the idea for a moment lol, so the shippy stuff went kinda slow.

For those of you unfamiliar with Homestuck and Hiveswap trolls, basically the Trolls are aliens with grey skin and candy corn colored horns, their caste system is decided by the color of one's blood, red being the lowest, fuscia and purple being the highest.

Queen Trizza is an actual character from Hiveswap and she rules over Alternia.

Enjoy.

Yellow didn't know where she was. She had heard a strange noise coming from her basement, and like an idiot she had followed it- despite often criticizing characters in scary movies for pulling the same idiotic stunts.

She saw a flash of blinding light, and the a flurry of stars around her. She felt like she was flying, but all too soon that came to an end when she felt herself crash into the ground.

Now, here she was, hallucinating obviously, because never in her sixteen years of living had the sky ever been such a brilliant shade of purple. And certainly Earth hadn't gained any moons since the last time she checked.

Yellow sat there, dazed for sure, looking around her. There were buildings everywhere, it looked like she was in a neighborhood. The thought of finding someone to explain what was going on comforted her a little bit, but she soon found that ease fading away as she finally grasped at the reality of the situation through the haziness.

She could smell smoke, it burned her nostrils. The scent of fire thick in the air. She now realized that many of the houses around her had caught fire, burning down to nothing but ashes.

Despite that fact, the streets were fairly empty, as if they were burning a ghost town. And Yellow realized that 'they' were hoards of flying robots, scorching the houses till nothing was left.

Yellow let out a muffled shriek of dismay, this couldn't be happening, what was going on? What sick nightmare was she having?

She began to hyperventilate, coughing and gagging due to the smoke in the air. It burned her lungs and drew tears from her eyes, making it harder to see around her.

Then, a light from one of the drones beamed down on her, a loud siren noise emminating from it. This was the end, she could tell. Stuck in this futuristic hellscape, doomed to die at the hands of murderous robots.

"Hey! Over here!" she heard a voice say. Her head whipped around, trying to find the source. She saw a silhouette in an alleyway waving an arm from her to follow.

Scrambling to her feet as the drone followed close behind her, she made a break for the alleyway.

"Hurry! Come on!" the voice shouted, stretching a little further out of the alleyway, extending a hand.

She panted reaching her arm out and grabbing a hold of the stranger's. She didn't have time to rest though, after they grabbed her hand, they proceeded to drag her further in, the beaming light above the houses following them relentlessly.

After a moment, the light began to fall behind, and the person in front of her began to lose their breath as well, but that didn't stop them from continuing.

"Where are we going? I think we lost them." Yellow gasped, her eyes still blurry and watery from the smoke, luckily they were headed away from the large portion of burning houses and the air was starting to clear up a little, it still felt off though.

"It's not safe here, I'm taking you to my hive." the person responded.

Hive? What did they mean hive? Like a bee hive? She decided to push the thought from her mind, this person obviously knew a lot more about what was going on than she did, so she'd just follow behind them for now.

They rounded several more corners, she guessed so that the drone, if it was still following them, would be thrown off track.

Finally, the stranger opened what looked like a secret entryway in the back of one of the residence, crawling in, "Come on, we're almost there."

Yellow silently followed, the small entryway opening up into a large room. The houses had looked pretty normal from the outside, but the inside was a whole different story. She could pick out what every piece of furniture was, but it didn't look like anything she had ever seen.

"Well, we're safe now. Welcome to my hive." they said hive again instead of house and Yellow was starting to feel uneasy. She was in a strange place, with a strange person. It didn't feel okay at all.

The person handed Yellow some towels to wipe her eyes with, and used one to wipe their own, sitting on what she assumed was a couch.

They seemed normal enough, despite all that was going on, and they had helped her, so maybe she had found someone normal in this weird place that could help her find her way back home.

She was surprised, however, when she looked up, free of her blurry vision, to find that her savior had almost sickly gray skin. They wore sweatpants and a t-shirt like most people would on a Saturday, although she couldn't tell if it was Saturday, she had just had a terrifying experience, but their skin was an unnatural hue.

She was even more shocked when they lowered the towel, revealing their face. He looked like a boy around her age, maybe a little older, save for the fact that he had monster like qualities. Fangs poked out a little from his top lip, the 'whites' of his eyes were a strange yellow, and the most eye catching thing about him, was the candy-corn colored horns that stuck out of his head, following the outward point of his hair.

Her mind blanked for a moment as she grasped for straws, or literally anything at this point that could explain her situation.

"It's a little early for Halloween isn't it?" she chuckled, trying not to stare too long. Other than his fangs, horns, and eyes, he was fairly attractive.

"What's Halloween?" he asked, and she could hear the genuine question behind his voice. For the first time, he looked up to meet her eyes.

He froze for a moment, staring, and it was starting to make her uncomfortable. He stood to look at her better, and she realized just how much taller than her he was.

"Are you okay? Your skin is really pale. Your hair too." he paused for a second, walking around her, "Your horns are gone too?"

"I've never had horns. No one does. What's going on? Where am I?" she became frantic, he acted like she was the weird one, when in reality it was the other way around.

She began to back away from the boy, and she gasped when her back hit something and it moved. She bolted around to see a large creature stumble into a standing position. It let out a low growl and she yelped as it made its way towards her.

It looked sort of like a dinosaur, but also like a plant? She wasn't sure. It's entire body was white and large iris-less eyes, blank white, seemingly stared into her soul.

"Hey, whoa there, it's just my Lusus. You act like you've never seen one before." the boy chuckled, motioning for the creature to back up a little and give her some space.

All of this was happening too fast for her, she didn't know what was going on, and at this rate, she didn't think she ever would.

"I just want to go home." she sniffed curling up, tears pricking here eyes once again.

"Oh hey, wait. Don't cry. You asked where you were. Well, you're in the rust blood quarter on Alternia. This is my hive." he replied trying to shoo away his Lusus, or whatever, even more as if it was the trigger that had caused her to cry.

"Alternia? Where's that?" she asked and the boy's eyes widened, filling with concern.

"You're not a troll are you? Listen to me, what planet are you from?" he asked and she looked at him dumbfounded.

"I'm from Earth, where else? Just like you right? Those fangs, and horns, it's all a costume, right?" she asked, wiping her tears again, this had to be a dream, but the warmth from his hand when he helped her up told her otherwise.

"You're far from home, I don't think I've heard of Earth. This is the planet Alternia."

"Another... Planet?..."

"I'm afraid so. And you happened to get here when Queen Trizza decided to go on another one of her sprees." he said looking out his window.

"Are we really safe here?" Yellow asked, the images of those burning houses burrowed their way into her mind again.

"We should be, it didn't seem like they were headed this direction." he sat back down turning on his tv, reports of the fires on the television, but no one really looked all that concerned.

"Does this happen often?" Yellow, looked at the spot next to him and he scooted towards the edge of his couch so that she could sit down.

"It's been getting more frequent, but no, she only does this whenever she can't think of a cool new backdrop for her selfies." he scoffed, rolling his eyes.

She scowled, their Queen Trizza sounded like a terrible person, "How did she even come into power if she's this terrible?"

"She's a fuscia-blood." he responded like it was obvious.

Yellow hadn't really caught the comment and just hummed in response as she looked over the 'troll' sitting next to her. He was an alien, but not like she had seen in the movies, he wasn't scary, or mean. In fact it was really nice of him to let her into his house or hive or whatever.

His features still caught her attention as she took in everything about him. He had a strengthening aura about him, like being next to him meant she was all right, like he was protecting her. Not that she expected a total stranger to go out of their way to protect her.

"What color is your blood?" he asked, a little uncomfortable, "I'm not trying to be rude, but I've never met an alien before." he clarified.

"Uhh..." she wasn't sure how to respond. Everyone's blood was the same right?

"What color is yours?" she decided to ask him.

"I'm a burgundy-blood, so red." he said, "It's pretty lame, but that's why my name is Red too, sort of a branding I guess." he chuckled, unfazed by how terrible that actually sounded to her, even though she didn't know what he meant by branding, but as she guessed they both had the same blood color.

"Mine is red too, but my name is Yellow." she said, and Red looked at her with a glance of skepticism.

Without warning he grabbed her hand and she felt a slight pain. He had pricked her index with one of his fangs and then he moved to bite his own thumb.

He held both her index and his thumb next to each other, and his face lit up when a bead of red blood bled from her finger, as it did on his.

"Sorry I was just checking." he said, wiping off her finger on their discarded towels.

"Saaaaur." the creature that Yellow had forgotten was in the room growled at Red.

"I know, I know, but what if she had been an upper blood, then she could've ratted me out." he complained, then he looked at her, "Not that I thought you would."

"Do people have different bloods on this planet?" from the way he talked, it seemed like having red blood was something of some importance.

"Yeah, rust-bloods, like me and you I guess, are the lowest class. Fuscia-bloods are the highest, like our Queen. How else do they decide who rules and who's the peasant?" he seemed fairly intrigued at the idea that they had a different way of deciding things.

"Well, everyone has the opportunity to be something great, all our blood is the same. Don't you ever think of revolting?" she was shocked that someone with such a courageous feel to them would be walked all over by the hierarchy.

"I've thought about it, but not many other people share that idea. There's a couple others, but I can't really contact them all the time." he scratched the back of his head.

It was the first time she'd seen him look down and defeated since they had met, which, granted, hadn't been long ago, but it didn't fit him.

"Hey!" she stood up, and turned his face to look her in the eye, "I may not have known you for anything more than twenty minutes, but just cause you have different blood doesn't mean anything. You're just as much of a person or troll as that Trizza lady. I don't know where I am, or how to get back, but for now I know my best bet is with you. And you don't seem like the kind of guy to sit back and cower in the corner." she tried to sound as confident as she could, but with her hands on his face she was sure he could feel her trembling.

He looked at her in awe for a moment, and Yellow felt a blush make its way to her face, "For an alien, you're really pretty." he said, and Yellow let go of his face.

A blush made its way onto his face as well and he tried to correct what he had said, "I mean, thanks, I needed that. Let's go!" he stood up, grabbing her arm and heading into what looked like a basement.

"What's happening?" she asked him, a little surprised at the sudden action.

"I'm getting ready to fight back. If I can't communicate with the others through any other means, I'll have to go find them." he stopped in the basement, handing Yellow a gun much to her dismay, and grabbed one for himself, along with a bat.

He turned to look at her, and the stunning look of determination and will to fight in his eyes took her breath away. He took her hands in his own, adopting a more serious look.

"I don't know how to get you home, but after what you've done for me in the little time you've been here, you can be damn well sure that I'll find out how to help you too."

Yellow's heart clenched, a weird feeling she wasn't used to, but it told her that here, with Red, everything would be all right.

Fin.
