Hey guys it's been a while, sorry about that. I've been feeling a little under the weather, but I want you guys to know that I haven't forgotten about any of your requests! I'm still working at them, and they should be coming out a little more frequently now that I feel a little better. Thank you so much for your support!

This chapter has some mild language and a couple of injuries that may be unpleasant to some.

"Can you not have him fly us into the rain?" The black haired boy complained on the back of his 'friend's' Honchcrow.

The red haired boy scoffed, "Who wanted to go immediately? I told you it was going to rain, but then again you probably weren't listening." he spat back at the boy.

"Dang Silver, so cold." he grunted.

Silver held back a harsh comment. He hadn't wanted to bring Gold along, but the boy had insisted. He was starting to regret ever wanting to fly to Alola, Kris had told him that they could travel by boat, but he didn't want any part of the crowds that he knew would be there. He was unsure of Gold's motives though.

"Why did you come along, anyway?" he asked, getting frustrated. Normally he could handle this stuff, but having Gold here just added a layer of irritation onto him.

They sat in silence, or at least they were silent, the wind howled around them and the storm crashed, but other than that they didn't speak. That was until he heard Gold yell.

"Oh shit! Silver!" the red head heard him shout, it wasn't often you heard Gold curse, which was surprising giving his personality, but the action startled Silver.

"What? What's going on?" he looked back just quick enough to see Gold grab him and hold both of them in a protective manner. Confused Silver's head jerked forward, and for a split second he saw a bird Pokemon slam into his Honchcrow.

Before he could process anything, they were falling.

He felt the initial feeling of hitting trees, and then the final slam into the ground. It hurt, a lot more than he had wanted it to, but luckily they hadn't been flying too high, he hadn't wanted to be near the thunderclouds.

Still, the fall hadn't hurt quite as much as he had expected, like something had cushioned him.

He groaned, shifting a little, trying to get his sense of surrounding to return to him. When he moved he heard a grunt beneath him that turned into a cry. The sound had confused him at first, but past the sound of the rain steadily falling, he could hear the painful blubbering of the boy he had discovered was beneath him.

"Oh Arceus, Gold." Silver muttered under his breath as he hurriedly backed off of the boy, he called back his Honchcrow as well. Gold was taking quick shallow breaths, his eyes screwed shut and his right hand clutching his left shoulder for dear life.

"You're hyperventilating, come on. I need you to breath normally the best you can. I know it's hard but please try." he told Gold as he carefully sat him up. Silver moved the breeder's hand and tried to carefully push his sleeve down so he could assess the damage.

As soon as Silver's hand came into contact with his shoulder, he screamed.

"Hey hey. I know it hurts." Silver tried too coo, he wanted to calm Gold down but that was exactly his forte, "It's gonna be okay."

Gold sounded like he was trying to talk, but all that came out was incoherent gasps and cries. He eventually pointed off into the bushes, and Silver could faintly see the etchings of a cave in his vision in that direction.

He helped Gold stand, he could still hear his quickened breathing, but he could tell that he was making an effort to breath normally, however shaky his breath was.

Slowly they made their way to the cave, Silver slid Gold down slowly, making sure not to hurt him any more than he had to.

"Your shoulder is dislocated, it's going to hurt a lot, but I can fix it." Silver told him and Gold just nodded.

Silver lifted his arm a little and the black haired boy shrieked. Silver grit his teeth before he slammed Gold's shoulder back towards him. With a cry Gold fell over, but his whimpering had stopped.

Silver sighed and took his jacket off, he shifted it around Gold and turned it into a makeshift sling. Gold grunted resting his head against the wall, "That hurt like hell." he gasped, heaving breaths.

"Then don't be stupid. It'll ache for a while, it's better if you don't use it." he told Gold, sitting down next to him. Hopefully the rain would end soon, so they could assess the situation they found themselves in.

He let out his Honchcrow to see how it held up, he had hurriedly put it in its Pokeball in his desperation to help Gold. The Pokemon limped towards him, one wing folded, and the other twisted painfully. It had a broken wing.

"I'll be right back." he told Gold who nodded. Silver ran through the rain, his shirt now getting soaked. He grabbed some sturdy branches, as well as some wood that had thankfully been shielded from the rain, he could build a fire and a cast out of wood.

Using his first aid kit-he always carried one in case of emergency, like now-he wrapped his Honchcrow's wing with bandages, using the sturdy sticks he found to hold it steady. To make sure that it wouldn't be injured any further, the red haired boy returned the bird to its Pokeball once again.

He could hear Gold shivering in the now silent cave, he couldn't blame him. It was colder than he wanted it to be, and if Gold was feeling cold with his jacket on, Silver was definitely feeling it since he had just a shirt.

Using the wood, Silver spent a good while trying to start a fire. Gold sat in the back for most of it just watching, but Silver could tell that he wasn't going to be quiet for long, Gold never was.

"Having trouble there?" he asked, it didn't sound sarcastic, but then again it had no tone to it at all. Gold was probably drained.

"I mean, I would make you do it. That would be a sight to see." Silver smirked, knowing that would probably shut Gold up. He would rather it be silent anyway.

Silver sighed, Gold probably wouldn't have gotten hurt as bad if he had just let himself and Silver fall. They would both have a little more scrapes and bruises, but he most likely wouldn't have sustained as much injury as he had,

"Hey, thanks for patching me up." Gold said in a quiet voice, Silver hummed in response, finally getting a fire going. He blew on it, trying to urge the flames to grow in size.

When he finally got it he turned to Gold only to find that the boy was fast asleep. Judging by the time that they had left, it was probably night time anyway, so Silver laid down next to Gold and drifted off.

...

When Silver woke, it was morning, the skies had cleared from what he could tell from the cave. Gold snored next to him, not even close to waking up, and Silver took this opportunity to have a little time to himself.

He serveyed where they had landed, and from what he gathered they had landed on a small island. Which wasn't ideal, but it was better than landing in the ocean. When he checked around, the only flying types he took note of were Gliscor, Yanmega, and Masquirain. All flying types that couldn't learn the move fly. What luck.

Gold's Togekiss was at the Professors right now, he had been asking to study it further, which is what led to both of them on Silver's Honchcrow anyway.

His Feraligatr couldn't travel as long as they had over water, and Silver didn't want to chance going a new direction. Not only that, it was easier to avoid dangerous encounters in the air rather than in the water, although they certainly hadn't.

"Hey there." Silver heard a voice and the suddenness of the voice had startled him in the silence. When he looked up he felt sudden pain as he slammed his forehead into something, all he saw before he fell was a flash of those familiar golden eyes.

He heard a thud after he had fallen, he assumed that Gold had been hanging from the tree when they had collided. He opened his eyes and found Gold rolling onto his back, caught between groaning in pain and laughing.

"What are you doing? Climbing trees? You're going to hurt yourself even more than you already are, idiot!" Silver snapped, standing up. He couldn't believe Gold, it was as if he wanted to be even more of a liability.

Or at least, that's what Silver told himself. There was another nagging feeling, the real reason he was upset with Gold, but he pushed that down.

"Well, you weren't there when I woke up, and you didn't come back for a while, so I thought I'd look for you." he said, more than a little annoyed, "I'm fine, you don't have to worry about my arm. I'm not using it, just like you told me to." he scoffed, rolling his eyes.

"And climbing trees is definitely not something you use your arms for." Silver laughed sarcastically.

"Could you be grateful for five seconds?!" Gold stood up yelling, "I thought I'd surprise you! Let you know I was okay! You're insufferable, I swear." Gold stormed off, leaving Silver.

Silver sat there, it wasn't uncommon for them to fight, but this encounter left a sour taste in his mouth, made his stomach turn. It felt strange.

He ran a hand through his red hair, he hadn't meant to take such a harsh tone, everything that involved Gold seemed to tick him off. He didn't know why, the boy was just so...

He didn't know what word to use to describe him, but he just felt annoyed when he was around the breeder.

When he made it back to the cave, he was glad to see that Gold hadn't run off. He was sulking in a back corner of the cave, twirling his billiard cue. Silver noticed that he tended to do that whenever he was upset.

He sighed and rubbed the back of his head, he didn't like dealing with Gold when he was mopey. He decided he'd dodge that for now.

"Hey, um..." Silver started, he began building a fire again, "If you don't mind, could you go get us some berries?" he asked, he was trying to lighten up his tone a little.

"Yeah, what kinda berries we want?" Gold responded, putting his billiard cue next to his backpack. Despite the fact that he had a backpack, there was nothing useful in it. Trust Gold to not have any resources on him.

"Oran of course, then some Pecha, Cheri, and some Chesto berries too." Silver told him and Gold nodded.

"Oh and one more thing," he caught him before he left the cave, "If there's some Mago grab them too." he didn't look Gold in the eyes and kept his attention on the fire.

"Gotcha." he said, his voice sounding slightly lighter.

Silver knew that Gold really liked the taste of Mago berries, although there were way to sweet for Silver's liking. He figured he could get Gold out of his bad mood though if he cooked them up for him.

Now that Silver was alone again, he let out a sigh. This was exhausting. He was such a hard person to deal with, he had no idea how anyone else did.

Silver's mind flashed back to last night, Gold's whimpering and crying still caught in his mind. The silver eyed boy winced as he remembered, it was weird to see Gold so powerless and afraid. He was so headstrong and cocky that honestly, sometimes Silver forgot that even he could feel vulnerable.

Now that they had woken up, Silver tried his Pokegear for a signal, but as he expected, no response.

He knew that he could survive out here for a while on his own, but with Gold? He wasn't so sure. Either Gold would drive him crazy, or at this point vise versa.

After Silver had left his thoughts, he had realized that Gold had been out there a while. He shouldn't have been this long for some berries, he had seen quite a few himself while he was roaming the island, they were rather abundant.

"What the hell did you get yourself into this time?!" Silver grunted, pulling Gold up out of a muddy ditch he had fallen into, careful not to fall in himself.

"Well, you see..." Gold panted when he had gotten out, "There were some berries I was trying to get, and I slipped while reaching for them." he chuckled sheepishly.

"What berries? There were plenty of other berries in different spots you could've gotten." Silver panted too, he was starting to get tired of this, he was starting to wonder how Gold stayed alive this long. He seemed to constantly be in a reckless mindset.

"Uhh, I found some Aguav berries?" it sounded more like a question, but Gold revealed the green berries that he had tucked into his makeshift sling.

"You didn't have to get those." Silver said, more curious as to why Gold would try to get berries that they didn't need.

"I know, but, you like Aguav berries, and I know that you let me get Mago berries, so I was going to go ahead and grab you some. I don't know why you like them though, their way too bitter for me." he said awkwardly.

Silver did like Aguav berries, and he supposed that this was just a nice gesture from Gold. He guessed that he could accept the small gift from the other Dexholder.

He really did wish that Gold would stop acting so stupid though. He'd just end up getting himself hurt again.

"Let's go to the beach and wash off" Silver suggested, Gold was caked in mud and it was kind of gross, "I'll see if I can flag down a flying Pokemon while I'm at it."

Gold's smile looked a little too forced, but he agreed, so Silver decided not to question the boy's weird antics.

So far, no birds made themselves known on the shores. The only noise was the soft crashing of the waves on the beach, and Gold splashing his feet in the water as he worked his was up on his mud covered body.

The water was surprisingly cold, it was refreshing too. Silver wouldn't have minded coming to such a secluded and beautiful place on purpose.

"Gullllll." Silver's head jerked at the sound of a Wingul cawing. It wasn't the best option he had hoped for, but it would have to do. It was all he had at the moment.

Silver slid a quick ball out of his pocket, he wanted to make this quick, if he caused a scene it would surely fly away, and he didn't want that. He silently prayed to Arceus for even a small bit of Crystal's sheer accuracy with a Pokeball.

He chucked it, and the ball went soaring, nailing the bird right before it took off.

"Yes!" Silver silently cheered. He rushed over to the Pokeball, it had been a successful capture.

Now came the part he really didn't care for.

Wingul weren't exceptionally bright Pokemon, and it was taking all of Silver's patience to work with it.

"For the fifth time, I don't want you to catch me a fish, okay?" he groaned as Wingul set a small Remorade in front of him. He tossed it back in the ocean and Wingul gave him a sad look.

Silver did suppose that some Pokemon responded better to positive emotions, maybe that was the case. He could call Gold over, if anyone could talk to Pokemon, he guessed it would probably be the breeder.

"Hey Gold, come here a sec." he called out to Gold, he pet the Wingul's head a little to lift it's spirits before the other trainer got there, and the bird let out a low coo.

After explaining the situation briefly to Gold, the black haired boy looked the Wingul in the eye with a smile, "Hey buddy! Can you find us a boat?" he asked in an overly enthused tone which had Silver feeling skeptical. Surely a change in tone wouldn't mean anything.

But much to his dismay the Wingul nodded and took off, this time flying farther to scope out for a ship.

Gold looked at Silver and smirked with a cocky grin, "Done."

"Yeah yeah, whatever. Don't look at me when he brings you a bigger fish." Silver said annoyed that he hadn't gotten the same reaction.

"Haha, that'd be pretty gre-" Gold was cut off mid sentence when he winced loudly.

Silver turned to see what was wrong and found Gold holding his hand over a large wound on his shoulder. Blood was slowly oozing out of it, almost as if it had been reopened.

"What the hell? What happened?" Silver asked, his heart jumping to his throat. The sight of Gold's blood made his own rush with adrenaline and he quickly made his way to the boy tearing a piece of the sleeve off of the jacket Gold was already using as a sling. He hurriedly tied it around the wound to stop the blood loss. The salt from the ocean had probably made it feel twenty times worse.

"Where did that come from?" Silver asked, his voice raising.

Gold hesitated before answering, "Must've gotten a scrape when I fell into that ditch" he chuckled.

"Can you stop that?" Silver said in a low voice, and Gold went quiet for a minute.

"Stop what?" he managed to say, his voice curious.

"Stop this! All of it!" Silver shouted gesturing vaguely. Gold was becoming confused, Silver could tell, but he couldn't stop now.

"We fight like we hate each other, and then you go and get yourself hurt, all the time! You asked to fly with me even though you knew we'd fight the whole way! You shielded me when you could've saved yourself! You do these things for me, even if it means putting yourself in harms way! Why?! I don't understand what your trying to prove by messing with me like this!" he yelled, getting hysterical.

He hadn't meant to get that loud, but the pent up emotions from today and the say before had finally burst.

Gold looked baffled, he had shifted back a bit. Silver couldn't blame him, snapping on the fly like that.

What Silver wasn't expecting was for Gold to come back at him full force, "Messing with you?! You're messing with me! I wanted to spend time with you, I tried to protect you, and what's wrong with wanting to see you happy?! I did those things for you, but you shut me down! It's not always me that starts things you know!" he yelled, standing up.

Silver followed suit, his rage boiling over, "Happy?! Oh yeah, cause I like seeing someone I care about constantly getting hurt over me!" his voice started to get softer, "Do you know how much it hurts when you're in pain like that, and it's my fault?"

The anger etching Gold's features was washed away and replaced with looming regret. Silver's words caught up with him too, and he could feel the weight of them himself.

"I just wanted to tell you..." Gold trailed off, his point becoming more unclear to Silver.

"If you wanted to tell me something, why didn't you just tell me? Why put me through all of this?" Silver said, the edge in his tone never going away for a second.

"Fine." Gold said, becoming silent for a moment, "I love you." his golden eyes pierced into Silver with an intensity that he didn't often see in the troublemaker.

Silver's mind shot back, reassessing the situations from the new point he was given, and it made sense. But did he love Gold?

At the thought that he might not love Gold, his heart sank, he didn't know how to tell with this stuff at all. Could he make himself love someone? He wanted to.

"How do I know if I love you back?" Silver said with a worried expression, he felt weird asking it, and his face was growing hot, which was new.

Gold held a serious face for a moment, then without warning he burst into laughter, "Arceus, you're an idiot!" Gold wheezed wiping tears from his eyes.

Embarrassed that Gold of all people had called him stupid, Silver slugged the boy in his good arm, earning a yelp in response.

"Then again, I guess I'm an idiot too, huh?" he grinned at Silver, who joined in his laughter.
