I actually found that writing this pair was a little more difficult than I had originally thought it would be. The sun and moon games don't really have any instances in which the two protagonists meet which made this a little challenging with no set personalities to work off of.

I portrayed Selene(Mizuki) as an upbeat sort of jolly girl, while Elio(Yo) was a more level headed, romantic guy.

Elio took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves. How hard could this be? Apparently, as his nerves told him, very hard. The way that the island sun reflected off of her features, making her almost glow brilliantly made Elio's heart skip a beat as he looked at her while she sat next to him.

They were at a park, one they often came to, and there wasn't much that either were doing other than just enjoying each other's presence. Selene seemed like she was having fun, she sighed contentedly from her spot next to him.

Elio had asked her if she wanted to go on a date. They went on dates every now and then, after all, they had been dating for six years. That fact didn't make his face cool down any when Selene leaned over, laying her head on his shoulder.

He gulped visibly, and he knew that she had heard him because he felt the girl giggle against him. He felt a little embarrassed, but in his current situation, he couldn't help it.

"You don't have to be so tense. You're a little more tense than usual, are you okay?" she asked concerned, turning herself to look at him.

He shifted a hand he had placed in his pocket, his fingers tracing the small velvet box. The more he felt it in his hands, the more nervous he got. He decided it'd probably be better if he just let the date roll along instead of worrying about it.

He wasn't proposing until later anyway.

"I'm fine." he chuckled, pushing the uncertainty out of his head for now, instead opting to focus on her. He wrapped an arm around her shoulder, bringing her closer.

"Is there anywhere you want to go for our date today? We can go anywhere in Alola, don't worry, I'm paying." he rubbed her shoulder soothingly, looking into her deep eyes. She pursed her lips and furrowed her brows, taking some time to think about it, which Elio thought was cute in its own way.

Suddenly her eyes lit up in excitement, "I know just the place!" she jumped up pulling Elio with her. Selene rummaged through her bag for a second, the excited look never fading from her eyes as Elio looked on in confusion.

She pulled out her Ride Pager and scrolled through the Pokemon, clicking on one. She was holding the pager at an angle that the raven haired boy couldn't quite see. The Pager Ball lit up for a second, before making a sort of "ding" noise, like it always did, then she pulled it out of the device, summoning the ride Pokemon.

A great orange lizard burst forth with a mighty roar and landed in front of the two, leaning forward to offer access to his back so that the two could climb on.

Selene jumped on, grabbing Elio's hand to help him up. With a roar, Charizard leaped into the air, taking off. Elio held onto his hat, a soft smile on his face as he watched Selene giggle in joy. A feeling if love coursed through him, it happened so often when she was around, but each time he felt it, it was just as special as the first time he had felt it.

The flight didn't take long, after all they stayed on Melemele island, and Charizard landed them safely at their destination. Surprisingly, the boy realized that they had ended up on Route One, on the beach near the Professor's house.

"Ten Carat Hill?" he asked confused. They had been here a couple times before. There were a couple Digletts and Rogenrolas in the area, but other than that, he didn't think it was all that special. There weren't any big memories he remembered sharing with her here either, so there wasn't really any emotional significance he could think of either.

She saw his hesitant confusion and slid her hand down to lock their hands together, intertwining their fingers. Elio realized that by the end of the day, there was a chance that her hand might have a ring on it, and that made his face heat up a little.

Selene puffed out her cheeks a little at his behavior, "I mean I'm flattered that holding hands with me.is getting you flustered, but it's been six years, Elio. We've kissed before." she deadpanned. Elio felt a little shocked for a second, then shook it off with a sheepish smile, "Yeah, sorry about that. I'm just feeling a little out of it today." he lied.

"Do you want to go home?" she questioned, a look of concern gracing her features.

"No I'm fine." he smiled and walked forward into the cave, pulling Selene along with him. She laughed and leaned into his shoulder while they walked.

A little ways in she started to lead him in weird directions. He was starting to get lost, he had never been this far in. "Where are we going?" he asked. They were getting pretty far, and it was starting to get dimmer as they over further away from the light of the entrance.

"Just wait." she didn't give him the answer he was looking for, and she continued to lead him along, keeping him close to her as she traversed the cave as if second nature.

The cave started lighting up again, and an exit came into sight. Elio covered his eyes as the harsh light outside overtook the darkness from the cave.

When his eyes adjusted, beautiful colors filled his vision, stunning yellows, brilliant reds, cool purples. The entire spectrum. Flowers of every kind filled a brilliant field surrounded by cave walls. Elio looked up to find that there was no ceiling, they had exited the cave, but it was a sort of dead end that had become a paradise.

He felt a sense of excitement well up inside him as he looked on. Selene let go of his hand, skipping forward before turning to him with her arms wide and a grin plastered to her face, "What do you think?"

Elio looked at her, the colors complimenting what he had already seen as an overwhelming beauty. She was so gorgeous it practically hurt, and her radiant grin was blinding. For a second he felt a weird pang in his chest. How had he ended up with the most perfect girl in the world.

Walking forward to join her, he stepped in front of her, her stance held as she waited for a response, "I think you're beautiful." he asked, hugging her to him, planting his face in her dark hair. He heard a small gasp from her and chuckled a bit.

Elio pulled back and let his eyes scour over the astounding scenery, "This really is an amazing place though." he leaned down and plucked a small pink flower, brushing Selene's hair back to place it on her ear.

She looked at him with a weird expression, he couldn't quite make out what it meant but it had his interest piqued. In a quick movement, she leaped forward, pushing Elio back onto the ground. The raven haired boy yelped, his back hitting the ground with a thud.

When he came back to his senses, Selene was laying on top of him, laughing hysterically.

"What are you laughing at?" he asked, rubbing the back of his head. He didn't think there would be a bump, luckily he hadn't hit his head that hard.

"Y-you ha, you yelped!" she choked out over her chortling, mimicking the sound of distress that had left the boy's mouth a minute ago. He pouted at her, which only enhanced her laughter, before smirking.

"Oh you think that's funny don't you?" he asked, inching his hands up to her side slowly so that she wouldn't take notice. When her laughter subsided, she looked at him with a blissful expression. One that almost made him feel sorry for what he was about to do.

In a sudden movement, he flipped her onto her back, his hands finding her sides. She burst into another fit of giggles as Elio tickled her, unlike the other one, it was the strained kind of laughter that came with the struggle to get free from Elio's hands.

"Sto-stop, please!!" she laughed, tears starting to form in her eyes as she squirmed. Taking that as a sign that she'd learned her lesson, he rolled back onto his back next to her, letting out a content sigh, "Okay, but only because you said please."

"Well aren't you generous?" she said in a light sarcastic tone.

"But of course, for you my lady." he placed a kiss on her hand.

She leaned into him again, and they looked at the clouds. The red hue of the sun told them that it was sunset right about now. Stars were starting to become visible.

They laid there under the light of the stars for a moment, talking about various things, small conversation, things of that sort. It felt nice to act like they were still kids every now and then. It felt like only yesterday Selene had beaten the Island Trials at the young age of eleven. Now that he was nineteen, the world was starting to feel like it was moving way too fast, but sitting here under the stars seemed to bring back that slow feeling again.

"By the way, what is this place?" he asked, curious about how she knew about this paradise.

"Remember when I showed you my Necrozma a couple years ago?" she asked, to which Elio nodded.

"This is where I found him. Even Looker was surprised!" she smiled, "But I realized that I had found a really beautiful place where I could get away from the world, so this is my relaxing place where I can take time away from the rest of the world. The cave walls make it feel so isolated, it's nice really." she explained, Elio listening and hanging on to every word.

She had never shown his a special place like this before. To be honest, he didn't even know that she had a getaway place. Every second, it seemed, Elio found a new thing to love about the girl. A thought crossed his mind, why am I even hesitating?

Elio sat up, not too quickly, but abruptly enough for the girl to follow suit. She looked at him quizzically, and he decided it was time. Leaning his head for head on hers, he cupped her cheeks with his hands.

"Elio..?" her voice came out as a shaky whisper, he let go of her fave to hold her hands, gathering up all of his courage.

"Selene, you're the most amazing person I have ever- will ever meet. Not only are you absolutely gorgeous on the outside, but you stunning on the inside too. You're loving, caring, strong, passionate, all of those things and more. So much more that I can't even begin to describe how great. And sometimes I wonder how a guy like me, ended up with someone like you." he chuckled bitter-sweetly, before continuing. He could tell that Selene was hanging onto his words.

"And all these years, I've come to realize that I can't even imagine living without you. So please, let me say, I love you Selene. I love you so much. To the moon and back wouldn't be far enough to describe that love. The entire universe isn't big enough to describe my love." he could hear her breath hitch, he knew he wasn't taking the formal approach, but nothing about them was formal anyway. They were kids at heart, so he would do this his own way.

He shifted, reaching a hand into his pocket, pulling out the velvet box. He heard a small gasp come from the girl in front of him. He opened up the small box, presenting a ring. He felt her shudder a little and she sniffled.

"Will you marry me, Selene?" he asked, his voice getting a little choked up. She stayed silent, and fear stabbed at his heart. He was started to think he had done something wrong, but he felt her nod against him.

Overwhelmed with emotion, he pulled her to him, kissing her with everything he could muster. He had never felt happiness like he felt it right now. The feeling that coursed through him at the thought that the most important person in his life, would be with him for the rest of it, was nothing short of magical.
