Chapter 9
[JJ POV]
"How are you guys still standing up?! My legs are on fire!" I heard Spencer complain.
"That's 'cause you're so tense all the time, just relax don't think too much. C'mon get up," Morgan hauled him up for the umpteenth time and Spencer put his skis on again. Morgan was an experienced skier and snowboarder. Let's be real he could probably do any kind of sport. We were all helping Spencer learn to ski. We finally got down to a rest stop and Spencer quickly decided he was going in the large cafe for a hot drink.
"How about you guys stay here while Hotch and I go down, then we'll come back up and stop here again," Morgan proposed.
"Sure, take your time I'm gonna go sit down." We all laughed at Spencer as he went ahead into the cafe. The rest of us were gonna go sit down as well but then Garcia decided she wanted to go another round as well.
Emily and I stuck our gear into the snow beside the entrance and walked in. All of a sudden she stopped and I turned to look at her.
"What?" I stopped walking as well.
"Y'know what, you go ahead I'm gonna go ski around for a while too," she said in a way that made me suspicious.
"Em, what are you up to?" I asked eyeing her.
"Nothing! I just think you are Spencer Reid over there need some alone time."
"What?! Seriously? C'mon we've been over this Em. There is nothi-"
"Yes we have but you are still in denial soo... I'm leaving."
The brunette rushed off before I could think of something to say. Damn it! Why did she have to bring it up again. I took a look at Spencer who was just sitting down and hasn't noticed anything. I knew my best friend is right, she's also right about me being in denial. Even I know that, but still my stubborn self refused to admit it.

I mean could I really end up with him? I watched as he ordered something, then started looking around the room. His head began to turn towards me and I realized he was about to spot me. His eyes landed on me and a smile appeared across his face. He waved at me and I waved back, still stuck where I was.
It was only when he raised his eyebrow at me that I realized I was still standing in the same spot, in the middle of the way. I took the few steps needed to reach him and sat down in front of him.
"You okay JJ?"
"Hm? Oh yeah, I'm fine. So what did you order?"
"Hot chocolate. Do you want one as well?"
I said yes and he quickly called the waiter over and ordered for me.
"So how are you liking skiing?" I asked him in an attempt to keep everything platonic, at least for now.
"Oh Jesus, I don't know how you guys aren't tired, but it is fun. I can see why lots of people find it enjoyable."
He then asked me about snowboarding but then entire time I was not focusing on the conversation. All that was on my mind was the possibility that I had a crush on this boy. I never really had crushes, a few hook ups but I don't often have a boy with me. I may be the 'popular girl' but I wasn't one of those stereotypical girls like in the movies. At least I hoped not.
"Hey guys, ready to go?" Garcia's voice pulls me away from my thoughts and I as we stood up I noticed Spencer looking worriedly at me. He was probably wondering why I was so out of it. I shook things off and followed my friends out. Emily couldn't get rid of the huge smile across her face and I smacked her when no one was looking. All she did was giggle.

At around 4pm we all started heading back as the slopes were closing and the night sky began to appear. I tried my best to stay away from Spencer just in case he asked me about before. I didn't want to be away from him, heck I wanted to be closer to him, but I couldn't. Not just yet. I needed to figure myself out first before I ended up hurting him.

My Hundredth Life
I was an ordinary guy, living an ordinary life, until it happened. What we came to call the "Reality Break". Monsters started spawning in the streets, Mana flowed through our veins, Skills and Abilities were unlocked, and everyone had a Status Screen. I was living my dream, an RPG apocalypse! Until I died, that is. And woke up in a new world...where I died again. And again. With each death, a new incarnation, a new game world, and new scars upon my soul. Now, at my 99th death, I just wish it would end...but unlike in some of the worlds I have "played" in, this time my wish is not granted. *** Author's Note: This is my first 'serious' attempt at writing a story. I am hoping to turn ths into a series that I can publish to Amazon, but my life is a bit hectic right now, so I can't make any guarantees. However, I have serious reasons for writing at this point in my life, so I will do my best to provide this new twist to the LitRPG genre and keep it up for as long as possible. Thank you, to anyone who reads this. *Also, tags might change depending on how the story goes, there may be mild profanity or mild sexual content, but I have not decided yet.
