《JR A Jeid Fanfic》panic alarm

"Spence, there's a rest stop about two miles that way. We can stop." JJ said patting Spencer's thigh. "Do you need to go to the bathroom?" he asked. "No. Well, I mean yeah, but you look exhausted. I'll drive." she said kissing him on the cheek. "No no no! You're not driving. After all you have no idea where we're going." Reid said with a smirk. JJ rolled her eyes. "Alright Spence, but pull over. It's late. We need to find a hotel, and you look quite sleepy. Plus I have to pee." JJ said pointing to the exit that lead to a rest stop in South Carolina. "Again?" Reid said laughing as he turned in to the small rest stop. "Sorry! I do have a baby pushing down on my bladder at all times." JJ said getting out of the car. "Hey!" Reid called to her as she walked towards the bathrooms. "Spence?" she responded. "Get me a bag of Cheetos." he said smiling. "I'll buy two." she said blowing a kiss at the car. Reid propped his feet up on the steering wheel and took out his phone to call Morgan again. "Reid?" Morgan said groggily from the other line. "Oh, sorry." Reid said looking at the car clock. It was about 1:00 am. "It's fine. Hold on." Morgan whispered getting up from the hotel bed. "I can call you in the morning you know." Reid said. "No, I'm awake. Trust me everyone is. We're all excited, but no ones acting like it. We can't sleep. I'm pretending I'm sleeping next to Penelope." Morgan said whispering. "Course she called dibs." Reid said laughing. "Anyways, what is it pretty boy?" Morgan asked. "Where are you guys right now?" Reid asked. Adjusting the car mirrors so he could see JJ while he drove. "Hotel in Miami obviously. Where are you guys?" Morgan said to Reid's surprise. "A rest stop in South Carolina! You guys took the god damn jet didn't you." Reid said rolling his eyes. "Is there any other way?" Morgan said laughing. "Okay, but I don't know what I'm gonna do for the proposal. I want it to be special. Something she'll remember. What if it's not good enough?" Reid said sighing. "Come on Reid! She loves you! She's gonna love any type of proposal you have in mind. Don't stress it. You remembered the ring, right?" Morgan asked concerned. "Of course." Reid said grinning. He took the small box out of his pocket and examined the ring. He knew she'd love it. "Hey, pretty boy. You'll do great." Morgan said sincerely. "Thanks Morgan." Reid said smiling. "Well I've gotta go. I think Hotch hears me." Morgan said. "You guys are all in one hotel room?" Reid asked laughing. "Yep. Penelope calls in profiler bonding time." Morgan said laughing. "Sounds fun." Reid said laughing. "See you guys soon." Reid said hanging up the phone. JJ was walking from the bathrooms. Reid quickly put the ring back in his pocket. JJ threw the Cheetos on to Reid's lap as she sat down. "Four bags?" Reid asked giggling. "Well I wouldn't want to leave the baby hungry. One for me, one for you, one for the munchkin, and one for good luck." JJ said winking. Reid giggled and then smiled at her as she ate one of her Cheetos. "What!" JJ laughed, catching Reid staring at her. "You have no idea how much I love you." Reid said smiling widely. JJ leaned over to him and cupped his cheeks in her hands. "Ditto." she whispered, as their lips touched passionately. He wrapped his arms around her neck and smiled through the kiss. JJ moved her hands to his shoulders as the kiss deepened. Reid slid his hands to her waist as a loud noise caused them to break the kiss. "Shit." Reid said scrambling to find the keys to turn off the panic button he had just triggered. JJ laughed hysterically as he felt the bottom of the car looking for the keys, and then proceeding to bang on the car in attempt to make the loud noise to stop. "Where the hell are the keys!" Reid yelled as his voice cracked. JJ pat his back and continued her laughing fit until he finally found the keys. He pushed the button and then breathed heavily as the noise stopped. JJ laughed and smiled as he blushed out of embarrassment. "This is why I'm in love with you." JJ said giggling. "Oh yeah, um, hotels!" Reid said pulling out a brochure from the glovebox that he had picked up at the border. JJ took a bite of another Cheeto and rubbed her belly. "Ooh! Looks like it likes those." she said causing Reid to grin. "Looks like there's one a few miles that way." Reid said to himself, circling a location on the map. Reid drove to the hotel, while JJ slept soundly in the passenger seat. "Jaydge." he whispered, waking her up softly. She stretched her arms as Reid helped her out of the car. The hotel room was small, but cozy. One queen sized bed, a small coffee table, a chair, and another room with a toilet and a shower. Reid wrapped his arms around JJ as she fell asleep peacefully. Reid however couldn't sleep, knowing that next time he fell asleep, he'd be sleeping with not his girlfriend, but his beautiful fiancé.

Delicate as Glass
[participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] Nuri, an [Assistant Glassworker], only has a single Skill. It’s really not fair. He’s worked in the hot shop his entire life, following in his father’s footsteps after his parents passed away, but he’s stuck. Despite possessing above-average talent as an artisan, he still hasn’t shed his [Assistant] status, gained a second Skill, or even leveled enough to reach the first Threshold. Besides, he’s bored; most days he daydreams of adventure and becoming a hero, or pines for the renown that’s sure to be his if he evolves his Class into a [Master Glass Smith], but nothing ever changes—until suddenly, fate strikes, and nothing is ever the same again. These days, Nuri sees more magic, prestige, and adventure than he can handle as he gets swept up in realm-shaking conspiracies and desperate fights for his life. Maybe a boring life wasn’t so bad after all. Disclaimers: 1) Names were mostly chosen through random generators and aren’t necessarily final. If they seem derivative or boring, blame RNG. 2) Skills, Classes, levels, and the entire system is currently a work in progress; please be kind if it’s not very well fleshed out yet. 3) This is the first full-length novel I've set out to write without a single plot point ready. I had nothing in mind other than a recent visit to a hot shop. Molten glass is pretty awesome. 4) Related, I know much less about glass than I’d like. I did some research, but mistakes are bound to happen. If you have a correction, thanks! Please be polite about it. 5) The prose is my experimental attempt at first-person, present tense. I realize it may not be everyone’s preference, but I hope you’ll give it a try anyway!
