《What's Really Hood》THIRTY-NINE

"I look cute with your clothes on, don't you think?" I asked him posing in front of his dresser mirror.
I picked up my phone up that was sitting next to my keys and swiped right, revealing the camera. I took several pictures since the lighting in his room is just wonderful. I felt his presence behind me, as he snaked his hands around my waist. I looked at him through the mirror and smiled.
He smiled back, leaving a sweet kiss on my neck, "You look good without even trying." He mumbled taking my phone and snapping a picture of the both of us.
I turned around facing him as he set my phone down on the dresser, wrapping my arms around his neck, pulling him closer to me. He swiftly lifts me up, setting me on the dresser while knocking some of his cologne off in the process. He stepped in between my legs, crashing his lips into mine. His hands made his way from my waist up to my face, cupping my cheeks, pulling me in closer.
I wrapped my legs around his waist as he picked me up from off the dresser carrying me. Not once have we broke the kiss. He walked over to his bed and sat, with his arms still around my waist and my legs around his.
"As much as I want to take you right here, right now, Michael and 'em are on their way with your car so we can go to the mall." He said in between kisses.
I groaned getting off him, looking at the time on the cable box. It was going on twelve in the afternoon. "Why'd you do that to me," I chuckled getting up and walking back over to the dresser.
I slipped my phone and keys in what used to be Chris' sweatpants pockets and started fixing my hair in the mirror.
"I'll make it up to you sexy." He said smiling getting his things together.
"Do you know what you're wearing for the party?" I asked following him out of his bedroom and down the staircase.
Fortunate for us, Chris' mother and Mia went to go visit his aunt so they weren't here last night. I believed he mentioned they're coming back later this afternoon or something.
"I don't know, I was hoping you'd help me pick out a little something." He said smiling as he sat down on the couch.
"The few times I've been to Queens Center Mall, I've come to a realization that they don't have a variety of stores there for you to choose from with an exception of True Religion and maybe H&M," I said looking out of the window. "Was that car always there?"
"I really love hearing you speak."
I turned around looking at him with my eyebrows furrowed "Excuse me?" I said being caught off guard, "Your attitude said otherwise the day I met you." I walked over to him and sat on his lap.

"Because I'm from the hood ma. The only time I hear someone speak as proper as you, are when white folks come around the neighborhood tryna gentrify shit. Plus, you're a young, black female. I wasn't used to it but now that I am, I find that shit sexy." He said squeezing my thighs "You're like my little boss lady."
"Chris." I cooed "You're so sweet." I grabbed him by the face and started kissing him all over his face.
He started laughing but his face then got serious.
"What's wrong?"
"How do you know something's wrong?" He asked looking at me.
"Your face told me so."
"I wanted to ask you something."
A loud car horn went off outside and both of our phones pinged and flash. I got up and walked over to the window, seeing my car parked outside infront of Chris' house.
"We'll talk later, they're outside," I said putting on my shoes that were sitting by the front door.
He got up and did the same, putting on his shoes also. He opened the front door for me, as we both exited out of his house. He locked the door behind us and grabbed my hand as we walked down the four steps and walked over to the car.
"Chris, who's car is that?" I asked nodding to the car parked in front of mine a few houses down.
I started getting that same feeling I was getting yesterday when I was high. Someone is watching us.
"Hey, guys!" China yelled winding down the window.
She and Michael got out of the car and sat in the back seat with Kae.
Chris and I both waved, "What car?" He asked walking towards the driver's seat.
I looked where the car was previously parked as I got in the passenger seat. That's weird, I just saw the car sitting right there.
"Nevermind, I'm probably still high or something," I said laughing it off.
'''
"We need to start going to Roosevelt Field Mall or Green Acres Mall because Queens Center never have shit!" Kae groaned as we walked into Love culture.
"I like this store, they usually always have something cute to wear," I said walking over to the body suits on a nearby rack.
"All of these clothes are for thots." China sighed sitting on one of the display tables.
I laughed at how annoyed she was getting. When it comes to China and finding an outfit, it comes easy for her. She found a whole outfit in the first store we went, while Kae and I are still struggling to find something.
"I'm going to go see what they have over there," I announced walking towards the back of the store.

They had all kinds of cute heels and I think I found the perfect one! The heels were clear along with the straps that's paired with a silver buckle. The rest of the shoes are a light purple, kind of like a lilac color. I was in love.
"Ooh, those are cute!" A girl exclaimed popping out of nowhere.
"Oh my God," I said putting my hand on my chest.
It was kind of early so the mall was kind of empty and barely any people were in the few stores we went in already. When China, Kae and I walked in here, the store was empty. So when I say I almost peed everywhere...
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you." She smiled looking at shoes facing away from me.
The girl was kind of short, had on black leggings, a black oversized hoodie, paired with a distressed jeans dad cap, and black huaraches. Her hair is pulled in a sleek ponytail that cascaded down her back.
"It's okay." I shrugged looking at the heels in my hand.
I started picturing different outfit combinations I can do for tomorrow's party causing me to get excited. I took my phone out and took a picture of them, setting them down on the rack.
"You're so pretty, are you going somewhere special?" She asked walking to the clearance rack of random clothes.
"Uh thank you, and yeah I am." I said walking away a little looking at other heels.
She was acting really suspicious, so I picked out my size in the heels and walked away over to China and Kay who were already by the register.
"Yall saw that brown skinned girl in all black talking to me?" I asked putting the shoe box on the counter so the lady at the cash register could ring me up.
"No." They both said simultaneously.
"That's weird." I said looking at the previous spot I was at.
Kae and I paid for our things and headed out of Love Culture to look for Michael and Chris. Something just doesn't feel right. I started looking over my shoulder as we walked towards the esculator.
"Trinity, you seem tense." China said walking down the esculator
I shook my head and followed her. "I'm fine."
'''
"What you want to eat ma?" Chris asked hugging me from behind.
I smiled resting my hands on top of his. The others went to go find a seat while Chris and I decided to get food from Surku Japan.
"Probably the chicken and shrimp with fried rice." I said looking up at the menu. "What about you?"
"I'll probably get the same." He shrugged.
We ordered and waited a few minutes for our food. Once our food was ready, we walked hand in hand to find everyone else.
"Chris, I have something to tell you." I said as we walked past a bunch of people giving out samples.
"Wassup?"
"Ever since Kae, China and I went to go pick up the decorations from Party City, I've been getting this uneasy feeling that somethings going to happen."
We spotted the three of them at a circular table and made our way over there. As soon as we sat down, they got up to get their food.
"What kind of feeling?" He asked giving me my food and drink.
"A bad feeling, I feel like I'm being watched."
"Trinity." He said resting his hand on top of mine. "I got you, nobody gonna hurt you on my watch. Trust me." He scooted closer to me looking me in my eyes.
"I trust you." I said nodding.
"Good." He said pecking me on the cheek, "now relax and eat your food." He chuckled opening up his container of food.
I smiled doing the same, taking a spoon full of fried rice.
"This is the same table we sat at when Kae put Lauryn on blast." Michael said cracking up and taking a seat across from us.
"Michael, shut up." China hissed elbowing him.
He mugged her and took his burrito of the brown paper bag from Chipotle."I ain't do shit, she opened her own damn mouth and exposed herself."
"When was this?" I asked taking a sip of my water.
"Two days ago." Kae said drinking her caramel frape from McDonald's.
I'm trying to remember who Lauryn is, because the name sounds so familiar. I was trying to put a face to her.
"She was at the New Years eve party, the barteneder with the long ponytail." She added
"Ohhh, you're talking about Lucifer?" China busted out laughing while michael laughed shaking his head, "I didn't mean to say that aloud." I blushed eating some chicken.
"Yeah, okay." Kae chuckled.
Then it hit me, that was the girl who was talking to me by the heels section in Love Culture. She was acting all weird and suspicious.
"That was the girl I was trying to tell you guys about in the store." I said looking at China and Kae.
"What she do?" Chris asked finally speaking tapping my thigh.
I turned to him, "I don't know, she popped up on me out of no where and tried to have conversation with me."
"And what'd you do?"
"Walked away." I said shrugging, "she was being weird."
"Good, I don't want you near her. She's a weirdo."
"Deadass, her ass is defintely not on the guest list for tomorrow." China said agreeing.

Wildling
Blurb: Silas--a scavenger living off the ruins of humanity--has spent his entire life fighting tooth and nail to provide for himself and his crew. But when a scavenging run goes awry and he's snatched up by an android patrol, he finds himself thrown into a cage and priced to sell as a pet. And when a suitor comes calling, he fears the worst: that he'll be turned into a Domestic, a human lapdog brainwashed into total obedience. Instead, he discovers an equally disturbing truth: that the creatures who stole his world have created a videogame the likes of which Earth has never seen; a sprawling, game-like theme park where humans are the Avatars and androids are the players who control them. And to make matters worse, his android guide is as hopeless as they come, having gotten all of her previous Avatars killed in record time. So if Silas wants to regain his freedom, he'll not only have to fight his way through a world that was specifically designed to murder him in brutal fashion--he'll also have to convince his android guide that he should be the one calling the shots. FAQS: Q: Who are you, handsome stranger? A: I'm Kyle Kirrin, the author of Shadeslinger, book 1 of The Ripple System, published by Portal Books, and I write crunchy LitRPG. Q: What is Wildling? And is it complete? A: Wildling is a crunchy LitRPG mash up of Fantasy and Science Fiction. And yup, Wildling is already complete at 64 chapters, or about 120,000 thousand words. You're looking at something like a third draft here--it's fairly polished, but it hasn't been picked over by a copy editor yet nor has my developmental editor seen it. Q: Upload schedule? A: 5 initial chapters today (2/15/2021) and one chapter a day for the next month. After that I'll probably slow down to 2 or 3 chapters a week until the story is complete. Q: How crunchy is it? A: It's pretty crunchy. I'd put it on the same tier as Ascend/The Land/RSSG, but it might be a bit crunchier than those three? Q: Is this the first book in a series or a web novel or what? And what are your plans for it? A: It's currently a standalone with series potential. Full disclosure: this story may head the way of my publisher eventually, but will be available on RR for quite a while no matter what. Likely several months after it's complete with plenty of warning before/if it's taken down. Q: What kind of build does the MC create? A: Sword and board! Q: Crafting? A: Plenty! Crafting isn't as center stage as it is in The Way of the Shaman, but it's close. Q: Base building? A: Two fully separate, distinct bases, both of which play a major role in the story. Q: VRMMO? Portal? Reincarnation or what? A: This one's a bit tricky. Basically an advanced race has created a game-like world that closely resembles a theme park. Think Westworld but with copious amounts of loot. And the MC has to fight his way through that to earn his freedom. Q: Permadeath? A: Nope! The MC gets 3 lives to play through the entirety of the game world, and death is extremely punishing, but not fatal. Q: Harem? Or romance? A: No and no. Q: Cursing? Blood? A: Quite a bit of cursing, yeah. There's blood, too, but it's not a gory book by any means. Q: How can I support? A: Instead of a Patreon/donations etc, I'd ask that you consider giving my debut LitRPG Shadeslinger a chance. It's free on Kindle Unlimited and the audio is already out narrated by Travis Baldree. It's an epic fantasy VRMMO where the main character gets 3 days of exclusive access to a new game plus a snarky, talking axe to guide him through it in exchange for agreeing to become the target of a serverwide manhunt once the Head Start period ends. Q: How's it similar to Wildling? And how's it different? A. The crunch level is very similar, but Shadeslinger is a much lighter, epic fantasy take on the genre. It's also VRMMO, but without any real world components aside from the first chapter. The MC is very different--he comes off as a bit of a jerk early on and can take a bit to warm up to, especially before his backstory is revealed--but he's also got a talking axe that constantly puts him in his place. Shadeslinger's a much more humorous story in general, and it's a great deal more polished as well. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoy Wildling!
