《What's Really Hood》THIRTY-THREE pt2

"Chris, baby I've been waiting for you!" Lauryn exclaimed coming out of one of the rooms walking into my arms

I hesitantly wrapped my arms around her as she pulled me into a tighter hug. She pulled me over to the bar and started mixing drinks since that is her profession.

I sat on the bar stool watching her intently as she began pouring the drink into glasses. I don't know, Lauryn is cool and all but I'm not cuffing her. I think she got the wrong idea here. Yeah we kissed here and there and she gave me head but that's all. Nothing more nothing less. She then came from behind the bar and hand me my drink, standing in between my legs.

"Cheers." She said holding her glass up and clinking it with mine

She giggled and rested her free hand on my lap, right near my zipper. I looked around the room as my eyes landed on Trinity who was glaring right over in my direction. She then rolled her eyes looking away and flipping her hair.

Damn, I'm so fucking stupid.

I swear coming here knowing Chris and Dominic would be here too was the dumbest thing I've done thus far. I think Khalil felt how uncomfortable I'm getting because he looked down at me with a worried look. I was hoping he'd ignore it but he did the total opposite.

"You good?" He asked staring at me

"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?"

"I felt your body getting tense." He said removing his arms from around my shoulder

"It's nothing." I reassured shaking my head "I'm enjoying myself."

I looked away staring ahead at the beautiful view. I think he knows that I'm lying, but thankfully he left it alone. I feel bad for being the Debbie downer at his party, I don't know why I even came to this party in the first place.

"Must suck for those people who's waiting outside for the ball to drop." I heard China say as she walked up next to me

"You know white people don't get cold. They'll be aight." Michael shrugged cackling from behind her

I reached past China and shoved Michael in his shoulder hard. He nearly tipped over and fell into the round shaped chair but caught himself before anyone could notice.

"Trinity we're about to enter 2016. Please don't be the first ass I beat of the new year." He said very seriously smoothening out his clothes

I couldn't help but laugh obnoxiously at him, causing unwanted attention from Chris and his little friend. I grilled her for a minute then looked away, not forgetting to roll my eyes in the process.

China watched me the whole time but I didn't bother to acknowledge her stare, I didn't want that to initiate an irrelevant conversation about my hostility towards Chris' friend.

Jasmine then walked over with Khalil's cousin, who's name I still don't know, and joined in on the conversation. Kae then came over and then the majority of the girls were having a conversation by the window, causing Michael, Khalil and his cousin to leave and go to the bar where Chris and the rest of the guys migrated to.

It was eleven fifty-nine and the people outside began counting down. All the couples in the room began pairing up and I automatically started feeling some type of way, especially seeing Chris and Lucifer-I mean Lauryn together.

"Fifteen...fourteen..thirteen..."

I felt out of place. Seeing Jasmine and that boy, Dominic with Tyra and everyone together made me feel lonely. I didn't want to be here anymore. I most definitely didn't want to see a bunch of people kissing either, especially since I'm single.

As the people outside got in the single digit numbers they grew louder and everyone ran over to the window that has the view where the ball is going to drop. I managed to slip away from the crowd leaving the main room and entering a hallway with a series of different doors. I opened the second door on the left which was a spare bedroom and entered.

"Five...four...three...two..."

I closed the door behind me, leaning up against it running my hands through my hair "Way to start off the new year, Trinity."

"Happy new year!"

'''

I walked out of the guest bedroom and saw Khalil, Michael, and Chris standing at the front of the room. I rolled my eyes looking down at my phone to the many 'Happy New Years' messages I was getting from all of my social media apps. It's been five minutes since we've entered the new year and my phone is going crazy.

"Yo, we got an announcement to make, listen up real quick!" Khalil yelled cupping his hands over his mouth

The room then got quiet but I still kept scrolling through my phone leaning on the back wall.

"Where'd you go sis?" Jasmine whispered tugging at my shirt

I shrugged "I had to pee."

"Oh ok, happy new year baby." She pulled me into a tight hug "I love you."

I hugged her back "I love you too."

"Happy New Year's to everyone man, I appreciate everyone for coming out tonight. Real quick, shout out to my son Khalil for throwing this lit ass get together, I love you bro." Michael said nudging him as everyone cheered for Khalil

I looked up from my phone and saw Khalil with a wide grin plastered on his face.

"It's the new years and me and Michael gonna be on our grind man and I wanted yall, the people that are close to us, to be the first ones to know that this new year we're both gonna be making music and have a clothing line soon. Many of you may not know, except for Michael and maybe another special person but I've been really passionate about music for the longest and I'm happy that I get to share that same passion with my brother man."

He wrapped his arms around Michael's shoulder and looked right at me, but I looked back down at my phone. Can he not.

I stuffed my hands in my coat pocket and started up the block. Being alone made me think. I hate thinking. I took the blunt from behind my ears and sparked up in the middle of the street. I took a long hit staring off into the sunset. The sun set early in the winter.

"There's something about you baby and I swear that it drives me crazy I'm stuck on you baby."

"Christopher?"

I snapped my neck into the direction my name was called. It was Trinity shivering her ass off with envelopes in her hand. I guess she was checking the mail. She waved me over, hugging the envelopes close to her. I put out the blunt and tucked it behind my ears, jogging over to her house.

"What's good ma?"

"I'm not going crazy or anything but I could've sworn I heard you singing just now?" She stated more in a question with a smirk on her face

"First off, why you sound so surprised?" I said smiling at her

She laughed "I would have never guessed you to be a singer."

"Ouch," I said faked hurt putting my hand over my heart

She laughed again tucking her hair behind her ears "So what song was it anyways? It sounds good."

"That's confidential," I said seriously

She gave me the straightest face and rolled her eyes "Whateva."

I felt Leanne, Lilly or whatever her name is eyes on me but I ignored it. I was going to say something but I didn't want to ruin the vibe and I especially didn't want to enter the new year beating up some irrelevant girl.

Michael and Chris dapped and hugged as Chris continued "When we go back to school, we're gonna have a listening party." He added

"Yeah." Michael spoke up "At the listening party we're gonna be playing some of my own shit, some of Chris' shit and then debut our collab mixtape." Everyone cheered again and Michael nodded clapping "We want yall there to come out and support me and Chris, it'll mean a lot. This year, there's no sleeping! Me and Chris gon' be on our grind we're serious about this music shit. Pull up to the listening party, it's during regents week, there's no excuse, yall don't wanna miss it!"

All three of the boys cheered along with the mini crowd and started mingling again. I took my eyes off of them and peered over to Jasmine who's watching me intently. I raised my eyebrows at her.

"Are you okay Trin?"

"Yeah, I'm fine," I said looking away avoiding all eye contact

"Do you want to call an Uber? If you're ready to go home we can, I understand."

"No Jasmine, don't let me ruin your night. Go have fun with your new boyfriend." I said smirking

She stood there for a second as a smirk began to slowly creep up on her face "Okay, let me know if you need anything." She said then scurrying away

I smiled and took a seat at one of the bar stools looking at everyone enjoying themselves. I'm going to miss her so much, she's going to have to go home in like two days. Without her, I'll be more lonely than I already am.

I need to get loose, like right now.

I looked to my left and saw pre-made drinks sitting on a tray. I reached over and grabbed two shot glasses downing them back to back, and then another two after that. Whatever it was started burning my throat horribly and it tasted disgusting.

It did make me feel a little freer and that's all I wanted. It's a new year, I'm tired of being the Trinity who's stuck up, prude, boring, and always following the rules.

I set the last shot glass on the bar table and got up, stumbling a bit. My eyes were set on Khalil's as we made eye contact from across the room. His eyes never left mine as I got closer to him and I automatically got turned on by that. He licked his lips and wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me in, as soon as I came within close proximity of him.

"Where you been ma?" He said whispering in my ear

His lips grazed against the tip of my ear and my body instantly began to heat up.

"I'm here now, that's all that matters," I mumbled looking up at him

He bit his lip and tightened his grip on my waist "That's good to hear."
