《What's Really Hood》THIRTY-ONE

I then felt his breath on my ear and I started to shiver "You look so good right now." He whispered
I kept my eyes closed but rested my hands on his shoulders. I felt his breath move down to my collar as he pecked it. I tilted my head to the side to give him more access but he went back up to my cheek and kissed it. I felt his body ease up off of me causing me to open my eyes. He looked at me with a mischievous look.
He held his hand out "We out?"
"Yeah," I said grabbing his hand easing off the ledge of the bridge as we walked back to the car
"Did the Robitussin work?" I asked as we walked up the broken escalator
We were in Queens Center Mall again searching for last minute outfits for Khalil's New Year's Eve party. I don't know who's idea it was but it was the worst thing to do ever. The mall was very packed.
Jasmine kissed her teeth "I'm tired of y'all black folks. Robitussin doesn't work for everything."
I chuckled shaking my head, adjusting my infinity scarf "Okay, Mrs. cranky." I mumbled nudging her
We headed to footlocker and went straight to the kid's section. I took a seat on one of the benches that were in front of the Jordan shelf as Jasmine looked at some.
"Dressing up, or dressing down?" She asked over her shoulder
"Uh." I started "I don't know, I'll ask China what she's doing." I took out my phone and texted China
"Bad feets," Jasmine mumbled walking away from to Jordan's to the Puma shelf
"That's exactly what China said when we were here two days ago!" I exclaimed
"Do you ladies need any help?" Someone asked out of nowhere
I looked up and saw a boy that looked around our age come up to us with a footlocker uniform on. I looked him right in his face and boy was he attractive. He was tall and skinny but you can tell he obviously worked out. He had nice chocolate brown skin with pink plump lips and long eyelashes. His haircut was tapered at the sides but curly on top, like how every boy in New York's hair is, but it fit him well.
I smirked looking at Jasmine who's oblivious to what's going on.
I looked back at him and saw he was checking her out himself "She does." I said nodding my head in her direction

It's about time Jasmine got some action, she's been here for about a week and she need boys in her life while she's here. She's been cranky lately.
He gave me a small smile and walked over to her. I smirked and left footlocker, shooting her a text that I'll be in Forever21.
"Have a good day." The workers by the door said as I exited out the store
"You too," I said not paying attention to them as China texted me back.
"Yeah, I am. You should too." I read aloud
I scrunched up my face. Why did she add that smirky emoji? Through my mid response, my phone fell out of my hand as I collided into somebody's chest.
"Oh, I'm so sorry!"
"Damn shawty." I heard him say as he went to pick up my phone from off the floor
"Thank you," I said as I took my phone examining the screen for any cracks
It was fine.
"Oh wassup Trinity? I didn't even realize it was you who I bumped into."
I looked at the boy standing in front of me confused, but my eyes went wide when I took a good look at him. It was Khalil!
On the kitchen island, it held many coolers and a variety of junk food to choose from. I didn't know what to get since all the coolers had alcohol in it. I closed the cooler lid dissatisfied.
"Can I get you something?"
"Uh, I don't know," I said slowly looking up
The boy made a face and it made me laugh "There's nothing but alcohol, not sure if I want to drink tonight." I smiled at him as his face softened
He was a pretty attractive boy, brown skin and a nice set of teeth. I nodded in approval unintentionally.
"You don't drink?" He walked over to the edge of the Island and leaned on it
I sat on the cooler that was on the floor in front of him "When I drink - I don't know it's complicated." I sighed slicking down my edges.
"How about I mix up something light for you?" He leaned off of the island and went in one of the many coolers taking out a red berry Ciroc
"Okay, sure," I said
I watched him go over to the fridge taking out a gallon of Simply Lemonade in the raspberry flavor. He got a glass from one of the upper cupboards and put some ice cubes in the glass then pouring some of the raspberry lemonade in it.

"Never seen you around here." He spoke up opening the Ciroc and pouring it in the lemonade.
I nodded "I recently moved here from California. It's been about a month now."
"Oh so you're the Cali girl everyone been chattin' about." He gave me the glass and then went to go sit on top of the island with his legs
hanging off
"Uh, people been talking about me?"I asked playing with the ice in my drink
"Yeah." He said smirking "I don't blame 'em."
I laughed and scratched the back of my neck "What's your name?" I asked
"Khalil." He answered
"I'm Tri-"
"Yo Khalil, pull up!" Some guy poked his head in from the living room waving Khalil over
"Trinity, yeah I know." He said smiling down at me
He hopped off of the kitchen island and walked out not forgetting to look back at me and winking.
My smile grew wider "Hey Khalil, how are you?"
"I'm good, what about you? I haven't seen you in a minute." He pulled me into a hug and I hugged him back
I laughed. He's acting like we knew each other for years. The last time he saw me was actually the first time.
"I'm fine. I'm actually here shopping for your New Year's Eve party." I said peering at my screen as incoming texts from Jasmine was coming in
She was probably cursing me out for leaving her. She'll thank me later.
"I was just about to ask you if you was gonna pull up."
"Yeah I'm coming," I said smiling
"Good, I'll be looking forward to seeing you." He said making it obvious that he was checking me out "Look, I gotta go to footlocker and meet my cousin. Can I have your number?"
"Yeah sure." I took his phone and entered my contact information
"Aight, I'll see you tomorrow ma." He licked his lips and pulled me into a hug
I was caught off guard when I felt his arms wrapped around my waist. He broke the hug before I can do anything then winked at me as he started walking in the direction where footlocker is.
I finally entered Forever21 being greeted with a pop song that's always on the radio. I walked in and made a beeline straight to the jacket section. I'm getting leather jacket vibes for tomorrow's party, I don't know why.
I came across a black leather jacket and started imaging outfits I could wear with it in my mind. I took it off the rack and held it up examining it closely.
I then heard heavy footsteps coming towards me "You sneaky little ho."
I busted out laughing as Jasmine punched me in the shoulder.
"What did I do?" I asked her playing dumb
"Bitch you left me in Footlocker with the boy who worked there on purpose!"
I chuckled "He's cute, why are you complaining? I'm pretty sure you gave him your number." I said nonchalantly shrugging
"You know I did." She said busting out laughing
I laughed too going back to the leather jacket that's now draped over my arm.
"Ironically he's cousins with the boy who's having the New Year's Eve party and invited me." She said looking through a random rack "Shit, I was coming anyway. Invite or not."
I laughed "You're dumb."
"I don't know what to wear." She said pouting still looking through the random rack
"What's in the bag then? Base it off of that." I then moved to another rack with band shirts
"I just brought these random ass Pumas." She said shrugging "Not really party attire."
"But why?"
"Because, I couldn't leave Footlocker empty handed. Can't have that boy thinking I'm a broke bitch. Besides, he gave me a discount." She stuck out her tongue and a made a noise making me laugh
"You're goals." I simply said
"Hey isn't that Chris?" Jasmine said pointing over to the cash registers
He was waiting in the long line with a few articles of female clothes in his hand. I knitted my eyebrows. Am I missing something?
"Yeah that is him," I said staring at him waiting for him to turn around
I didn't want to yell across the store and neither did I want to walk over to him either.
A girl then blocked my view of him staring right at me "What the fuck is she looking at?" Jasmine asked walking up next to me staring back at her
I knew the girl heard Jasmine's loud mouth.
The girl kept looking from Chris, who's still oblivious to what's going on, and back to me like she was making sure Chris was the one I was staring at. She then walked over to Chris who was on the line who wrapped his arms around her waist with no hesitation. She then got on her tippy toes and kissed him on the jaw and shot me an evil look.
"Well, you obviously have a taste when it comes to niggas," She looked at me "They all ain't shit!"
