《What's Really Hood》NINETEEN

I started straightening up my room as soon as I hopped out of the shower this morning. I swept my hard wooden floor, dust my dresser tops, put all my clothes away and even spread my bed which I don't know why, but I have such a problem doing. I'm stressing for no reason, It's only Chris.
I went in my school bag and took out my math binder which consists all my lessons and homework from when I started school back in October, placing them on the bed along with mechanical pencils.
I plopped on my bed running my hand through my hair looking at my lock screen. It was a picture of my closest friend Jasmine and I with our cheer uniform on. I can't wait till she visits for Christmas in a few weeks, speaking of Christmas I need to go shopping. I also need money. I need a job.
"Trin!" I heard my father's faint yelling coming from downstairs
I tucked my phone in my sweatpants pocket and exited out of my room, skipping down the steps to meet him in the living room. He wasn't in the living room so I walked into the dining room. He was there tightening his tie.
"What's up?" I asked leaning on one of the dining room chairs
"I left twenty dollars on the coffee table in the living room, you can order dinner with that or something."
I nodded "Thanks daddy."
"No problem."
I checked the time on my phone "It's one thirty, aren't you kind of early?"
He shrugged "Yeah, but you never know with traffic in the city."
"Want me to boil water for tea?" I asked walking into the kitchen already turning on the electric kettle
"Thanks, and when is that boy coming over? I'm about to leave." He asked following me into the kitchen getting a peppermint tea bag from the pantry and a tea thermal from the cupboard
"Uhh." I unlocked my phone going to messages. I opened the message between Chris and I where he last replied 'omw' twelve minutes ago. "Chris should be here real soon." I replied tucking my phone back into my sweatpants pocket.
"Now trinity, can I trust you being alone in the house with a boy?"
I mentally rolled my eyes "Daddy, why is it that you're treating me like I'm not nineteen? You never complained when Marc came over the house back in Cali." I said folding my arms
"If you haven't noticed we're not back in Cali, and I don't know Curtis-"
"Chris." I corrected
"Chris." He eyed me down "I don't know Chris as much as I know Marc, and there was almost always someone home whether it was the maid or the chef. Need I say more?"
"No." I said walking over the the kettle that turned off itself
I poured the water in the thermal, along with two scoops of brown sugar. I stirred the water, closing the lid on the thermal handing it over to him. The doorbell rang and I exited out of the kitchen walking to front of the house, getting a little anxious and nervous. I looked down at my outfit, tank top and baggy sweats. I shrugged and opened the front door meeting eyes with Chris.

All jokes aside I felt spit forming in my mouth to the point where I'll start drooling any second. He looked great it caught me off guard.
"You alright Trin?" He asked
I could tell he's staring at me through his dark shades "Uhh-"
"Oh so you're Chris." My father said popping up behind me, opening the door even winder for Chris "Come in man, it's cold outside."
"Thanks sir." Chris said stepping in the house as my father and I moved out of the way
"Sir? I'm not that old, call me Tristian." My father said smiling at him holding his hand out
"Alright, Tristian." I watched him intently as Chris shook his hand, he winced a little bit
"Okay dad." I said looking at the tight grip he had on Chris' hand
"So y'all supposed to be studying, right?" He asked directing his questions to Chris
"Yes." I answered
He broke the hand shake and kept smiling at Chris "Alright Trinity, I gotta go now." He broke his eye contact with Chris pulling me in a hug "Be good okay?"
He put his coat on that he had draped around his arm and pulled me in a hug "I will." I said just wanting him to leave already
I opened the door for my father as he exited out of the house. That was easier than I thought. I sighed and closed the door behind him, turning around looking at Chris look at me. He had his Nike elite book bag on his shoulder standing there.
"Take your shoes off, leave them on that mat and we can get started."

Him and I sat in an awful silence as I was taking a practice quiz Mr. Johnson sent out via school email. I sighed loudly as I flipped the page over of the never ending practice quiz, stealing a glance from Chris. Something's off with him, he's not the same. We've been in my room for about I don't know, a hour and a half? He barely uttered any words besides 'check your school email, Johnson should've sent you a practice quiz.' It annoyed me because I was semi excited about him tutoring me, and I felt a vibe that he was too. But I guess not.
I don't know, he's treating me like how we first met. He's been on his phone and laptop from the very beginning not acknowledging me unless I had a problem with a question, which I avoided asking for help because I didn't want to annoy him. It irritated me deeply, if you didn't want to be here, why come?
I closed the packet, tossing it to the side and picking up my phone. I went straight to snapchat and saw that this 'Ty Tyra' person on Snapchat posted something a few seconds ago. That's right, this is the same person that added me out of no where. I clicked her name and started watching her snaps. She looks really familiar, I think I see her a lot with Kae. I went through a bunch of selfies of herself then saw what it looks like her setting up a party.

"Oh right, there's a party tonight." I said aloud
There's some party that's going on tonight that the whole school keeps talking about. I think Chyna or Michael brought it up to me once but I declined because I promised myself to study the whole weekend.
I saw through my peripheral that Chris got tense. His body got stiff and the aura in the room change drastically, along with his attitude. Okay?
I set my phone down next to Chris' and went back to my packet, but something caught my attention. I looked at his phone and saw incoming notifications, It was on vibrate but it kept lighting up back to back. Kae was blowing up his phone but he was obviously ignoring it.
"If you don't want to do this, you don't have to. I understand if you're not in the mood." I said not looking at him, keeping my eyes on the packet
I felt his eyes on me, he looked away as soon as I looked up "Are you okay Christopher?"
"Yeah I'm good." He said itching his nose
I scrutinized him "Can we do something else? preferably fun, my father has a Playstation four downstairs."
'''
"Wait Christopher, were care you? Theres like five guys shooting me at once!" I yelled at the screen
I got annoyed when I saw the kill cam popping up but ignored it, pressing square to respawn. Black Ops Three is so stressful.
He started laughing loudly at my reaction "My fault I was all the way across the map, Trinity stop running in the open that's how they keep bodying you."
A smile instantly formed when I heard his laugh and the enthusiasm booming in his voice. It made me happy that he's happy now. His whole vibe changed and it made me feel good.
"Okay I'll listen to you since you're like prestige five or something." I said looking for a corner
"I know you're not about to go camp in the corner."
"Stop screen watching!" I exclaimed getting defensive "Christopher I got a head shot! You saw that?" I hopped off of the couch cheering
He started laughing so hard at my excitement but laughed even harder when the kill cam started playing. My face fell instantly as I watched me getting killed on the screen.
"They could've let me have my shine for a little while longer." I said annoyed but was lowkey enjoying how happy Chris was
The game ended, so I quit the game as it took me to the playstation home screen. I looked at Chris looking at me. I smiled to myself now realizing he took off his shades. I got up from the couch taking my phone out from my pockets. I looked at the time and saw it was going on to six at night and outside was getting dark.
"I would offer you food but my kitchen never has anything to eat, so you want to get some Chinese food from down the block or something?"
"Sure."
'''
On the way to the Chinese food store and back Chris and I cracked jokes about anything and everything. He favored my jokes about Mr. Johnson's bald head and it made me feel good. We walked in the middle of the street laughing, and just being obnoxious. Playing tag like we're in elementary school. I saw a whole different side of Chris and I'm glad he allowed me to see it.
"I never knew you was this funny." He said recovering from his little laughing session when I almost tripped and fell on my neck trying to chase him
"There's a lot you don't know about me Christopher." I said slightly smiling
"Oh yeah, like what?"
"As you obviously just saw, I can be a little clumsy."
He started laughing all over again making me laugh "What else?"
"Uhh, I dunno you're just gonna have to figure that out."
He kissed his teeth "Whatever."
I laughed and looked up realizing we're standing in front of the house. I got my keys out from my jacket pocket and unlocked the front door. Chris closed the door behind him as he walked in last.
"You're going home right?" I asked looking at the time on the cable box
I took my jacket off walking over to the recliner, throwing it on the arm.
"Yeah." He responded picking up his book bag that's sitting right next to his feet by the front door
I kind of got a little upset, I was enjoying Chris' presence. I guess Chris caught on because he started to stare at me.
"I'll let you out." I walked over to him about to open the door but tripped on the door mat
I instantly was about to break my neck twice in less than fifteen minutes but Chris caught me by my waist.
I landed right in his grasp "You're right, you are clumsy." He said staring at me
I tucked my hair behind my ears staring up at him. He looked really good in the dim lighting it drove me off the walls. His freckles were faint but it still suited him well. He licked his pink lips and I felt trapped. Trinity, what is this you're feeling in your stomach? Trinity why are you leaning in?
Chris leaned in also, taking my cheeks in his soft hands grabbing my face as our lips met. I tippy toed wrapping my arms around his neck instantly to pull him down to my level. He wrapped his arms around my waist pulling me in closer and deepening the kiss. He pulled away wiping the strawberry lipgloss from his lips with wild eyes.
"Chris-"
"Uh, I should go." And with that, he left
