Magar Humari Neeyat Saaf Thi...

THIRD PERSON'S POV

Entering the room after changing clothes he found Noor awake sitting on her mother's lap, her head resting over her chest who's back was set against the headrest, holding Noor close to her while she chatted animatedly with her, answering her every question.

"Abhi tak soyi nahi Noorie ?"

(You haven't slept Noorie ?)

Hearing his voice they both turned their gaze towards him with Noor having a bright smile whereas Maria with a blank look. She was in trance, watching him without blinking her eyes, as he walked towards them, clearing his throat loudly in order to snap her out of the daze which she did hearing him.

"Mama and I were waiting for you..."

"Achaa...."

(Okay...)

He smiled looking at his daughter not meeting eyes with his wife, feeling her strong gaze on himself and slipped inside the covers, caressing Noor's cheeks making her smile back in response.

"You will save us monsters. Haina baba?"

(Right ?)

Nodding lightly he kissed her forehead and closed his eyes, holding her out of habit when he felt another hand over his, belonging to his wife.

He was about to retreat his hand back when he felt a small hand hovering over both of theirs, holding them tightly; keeping them together.

"Good night Mama, baba."

Noor's cute sleepy voice vibrated inside the room.

"Good night meri jaan."

"Good night princess."

Both of them replied, finding themselves lost in deep slumber.

In the middle of the night he woke up feeling his throat parched when his eyes landed up his wife and daughter who were in deep sleep, with Noor clutching onto Maria like a small little monkey, her small hands fisting the cloth of her cotton kameez just above her stomach to insure her mother's presence with her, having a peaceful smile on her chubby face unlike the frown marring her mother's face.

Walking towards his wife's side he sat down beside her sleeping frame, running his long fingers towards her eyebrows smoothing wrinkled lines over it, taking his time to admire her sleeping form, getting surprised seeing her smile lightly sensing his touch making him smile too.

Bending forward he was about to kiss her forehead when he stopped remembering events of last night which had caused distance between them. Sighing, he got up giving her a last look before walking towards his side of bed and laid down, dozing off to sleep again.

"Bas yaar ab tum overacting kar rahi ho."

(Enough of your overacting now.)

Sitting beside her on the sofa Osama sighed dramatically watching Maria pouting unhappily, feeling bad for Sadia dadi's departure. He was sure she was acting as her along with him never got along well with Sadia dadi because of her domineering nature.

"I am not acting Osama."

She whispered softly, making him surprise seeing her serious about her statement.

"What aren't you happy that hitler is finally leaving ?"

He on the other hand was very happy as for now he will be able to do everything according to his own choice without dadi's interruption.

He missed his old cheeky self as he was forced to act like an adult in front of dadi ammi who fortunately was leaving now.

"Shut up. She is not hitler. Okay ?"

Maria scolded Osama watching his grin turn to frown and then too shock within seconds.

"What the... Tum Maria hi ho ya uski behrupiya ?"

(Are you Maria or her imposter ?)

He narrowed his eyes at her taking her to be an imposter making her roll her eyes at his drama and warn him for cursing.

"I am Maria only and I next time if I hear you cursing I'll complain to Abba."

"Abba ki cheli..."

(Abba's deciple.)

Ahhhh!! She was indeed Maria only as she was the only one who used to threat him with Abba and his brother's name to shut him up.

It wasn't his fault that his father and his brother were too intimidating for if they weren't, then he wouldn't have been scared of them.

"What did you say ?"

Narrowing her eyes back at him she challenged him to speak another word and face her wrath.

"Nothing.... But tell me how did you had changed of heart towards badi dadi ammi ?"

Dismissing her question he fired her with his own, eager to discover the change of her heart towards Sadia dadi.

"She is good Osama."

Passing him a small smile she tried to convince him about Sadia dadi being a good person watching him making fun of her words, not ready to believe her at all.

"And I can flyyyy....."

"Trust me she is good... Bas unka pyaar karne ka tarika thoda alag hai."

(Her way to show affection is little different.)

She smiled remembering how soft and caring dadi was towards her. She only appeared to be strict but in reality she was a very affectionate women.

"Yaar dhamki dene mein kaunsa pyaar hota hai batana."

(Who shows their love by threatening others ?)

He complained, scrunching his nose like a kid making her glare at him to showcase her seriousness for the matter.

"Osama...."

Before she could complete her sentence she watched dadi ammi walking towards her direction to meet her, till next time.

"Thode din aur ruk jayein dadi ammi."

(Stay here for more days.)

Embracing Sadia dadi Maria whispered feeling sad watching her leave so early, after creating a strong bond with her.

"I'll come back soon but...."

Retreating herself back from the embrace, dadi smiled ready to tease her to lighten up the gloomy look on her face.

"But..."

Maria looked at dadi expectantly waiting for her to continue watching dadi whispering inside her ear, making her go all red in shyness with her comment.

"But for that you have to make me a great-grandmother."

"Dadi ammi..."

She gasped, shocked for dadi ammi was teasing her and at the same time her mind wandered off to previous night, flaring her cheeks more red if that was even possible.

"Okay! Okay. Stop blushing. Your husband won't like anyone making you blush except him."

Patting her cheeks dadi ammi again teased her watching Mustafa walking towards them with his eyes settled upon his wife who was looking down feeling shy.

"What ? I know your husband well. Aashiqui karne mein bilkul apne dada jaan pe gaye hai Mustafa."

(Mustafa is exactly like his grandfather when it comes to romance.)

She rolled her eyes remembering her dead brother who never hesitated to showcase his affection towards his wife in front of everyone and his trait was carried off by his grandson Mustafa who was just like him in the romancing department.

They both were same; shameless.

"Ji dadi ammi ?"

Standing beside dadi ammi Mustafa asked hearing her taking his name, making Maria plead dadi ammi not to repeat her words in front of him, scared of his reaction. He was angry at her and she didn't wanted him to speak something which will make dadi ammi suspicious of their relation and create more problems.

"Nothing. I was just praising you infront of your wife."

Winking at Maria she turned towards Mustafa with a big smile to which he answered with the same zeal, the only difference was of his tone which was full of sarcasm, hurting his wife who was standing in front of him.

"It's not going to work infront of her dadi ammi. Apne galat jagah tareef kardi meri."

(You have praised me in front of wrong person.)

Maria decided to ignore his comment knowing he was hurt and decided to let it go and focus on Azhar who was waiting for her to meet him.

"Take care both of you."

Giving them a big smile she sided towards her Abba watching Mustafa scowl watching azhar smiling back at her.

Jealous kahi ke.

"Anyways are you ready ? Flight ka time ho gaya hai."

(It's time for your flight.)

Mustafa announced glaring at Azhar who was smiling talking with his wife.

After a long week of chase she was finally able to corner him to face her. Just like his past week routine he was late again only because he didn't was not ready to face his wife afraid to confront her, scared to get hurt again.

But here she was standing in front of him cladded in a peach suit matching them with white cigrette pants wearing a white shawl over her shoulders looking more beautiful than he saw her last time.

How the hell did she managed to look beautiful everytime he laid eyes over her, stealing his heart everytime he saw her ?

"Dinner ?"

Keeping her hand over his shoulder she snapped him out of his trance, asking him for dinner knowing he only preferred home cooked food.

"Zehmat karne ki zaroorat nahi hai. I'll take it on my own."

(Don't bother yourself.)

Talking few steps back he retreated her hand from his shoulder not meeting eyes with her knowing the power she held over him. He knew he'll be doomed with her one look and thus prevented himself from looking inside her bewitching orbs.

"Zehmat! Seriously ?"

(Bother!)

Glaring, she took steps towards him making her mind to confront him; now. He had shown enough of his tantrums and now it was her turn to show him her fierce side.

She was running out of patience handling his big baby like tantrums and was sure to snap at him, if he tries to run again which he did, angering her.

"Where are you going ? Aur kitna bhaagne ka irada hai aapka mujhse?"

( How much are you going to run away from me ?)

Blocking his path she glowered, watching him looking down not meeting her eyes to which she stepped on his feet with all her strength making him look at her with an annoyed look, denying her accusations of running away.

"I am not running away."

She rolled her eyes hearing his stupid answer, watching his blank expressions turning to that of a scowl seeing her reaction.

"Don't roll your eyes on me."

"Ohhhh... Then what should I do ? Bow down in front of you for your immature behaviour."

Giving him a sarcastic reply she waited for him to speak more which he didn't catching her off guard.

He on the other hand knew she was pissed off and it was better for him to not to indulge in any fight with her knowing it would continue whole night with neither of them backing off having a head strong nature.

"Leave it..."

Sighing he passed by her side watching her following, making him groan in annoyance.

"Playing hide and seek. Aren't you ? Well I am in. I want to see how long you'll run away from me."

She sang loudly entering their room after him watching her patience breathing her last after hearing him lie repeatedly.

"I AM NOT...."

"Shut up!! I am done with this attitude of yours. Even my Noorie is better than you."

He was taken aback when she pushed him towards the dressing table, stumbling his balance which she used as a golden opportunity to handcuff his hands with tables drawer, watching him gasp in shock seeing her actions.

"Unlock my hands Maria...."

"Nope.... These handcuffs are making sure that you don't leave and hear me out..."

She smirked sitting on the chair ensuring his proximity, watching him giving up and listen to her. Finally.

"I... Don't regret anything. I swear, I don't. It's just that I don't want things to get complicated than they already are. I am not the same girl I used to be. I have developed serious trust issues and it's very difficult for me too trust you again with my heart..."

She confessed looking at him in the eye to make sure he takes all the things she had confessed to him. It was the time her eyes talked with his showing him all her vulnerability, her pain, telling him about her insecurities which she never thought of sharing with him; again.

"But we have to move on one day or the other. We can't stay in the past forever..... I am trying and you should too. Let go of everything and try to move on."

He understood her. He understood each and everything she was and she wasn't able to confess. But he would only be able to help her if she was willing to move on, to let go of the past.

For sometimes letting go is much better than holding the rope of painful memories, tugging us towards nothing but dark.

"You think it's easy.... "

Cracking a small smile towards him, she wiped the tear leaking out of her eye before continuing to speak again.

"Heck it's not. You don't know how much it's difficult for me. You weren't the one who was lost everything in the speck of an eye. You weren't the one who had to die every single day watching the person you love getting married to another. You weren't the one who had to fake smile everyday even when your heart felt exploding with pain. You weren't the one who had to leave your family. You weren't the one who had to bear the pain of the betrayal of your closed ones."

You think I was in better condition watching you drifting apart. Heck no, I was same just like you. Only the difference being you were able to walk away from the agony whereas it was me who lived it everyday, for whole four years until you came back.

"Maria...."

He called her but she was lost in her own bubble flowing with the winds of her emotions, living her fears with her words.

"I am scared.... Scared to go through the same things again. Last time I convinced my heart to leave you for you didn't belong to us, but this time I don't know what I'll do if you...."

Scared to complete her sentence she stood up walking towards him, unlocking the lock of his handcuff, apologising him before leaving the room.

"I am sorry but I didn't mean to hurt you at all.... I....am going. You are free to do anything now."

As soon as she closed the door he rushed to embrace his emotional wife tightly but stopped immediately, freezing watching the number on his phone screen.

"Mama I miss baba...."

Noor pouted turning towards her mother who was sitting behind her combing her curly hair, lost in her own thoughts.

"He'll come back soon Noorie."

She didn't knew how she was handling herself in his absence. Not giving her any answer, he left her hanging with chaos in her heart.

It had been two weeks since she saw him last and in those two weeks he didn't even called her for once. Maybe her explanation wasn't enough for him. Maybe he was too angry to even listen to her side.

Taking deep breaths she sighed wanting to stay strong for Noor. If he didn't wanted to talk with her then it was okay and she won't demand for his attention either.

Lost in her thoughts, she got alerted hearing Noor jerk her receiving her attention, pointing towards the open door where they heard a loud shriek, along with the sounds of sobs.

Standing up frantically she kissed Noor's forehead asking her to stay inside the room and play with her toys till she come back, ignoring the wild beating of her heart feeling sweat forming on her forehead, fearing some mishap.

"I'll be back. Till then you stay here."

Giving a last look to her daughter, she forced herself to move downstairs with wobbly legs, feeling lightheaded, fear gripping her entire form.

By the time she was down her legs froze not able to take more steps with the sight in front of her. She felt everything was a fragment of her imagination with her brain playing sick games with her.

One by one tears leaked out of her eyes without even her knowledge as she held the railing of stairs balancing herself to stand, murmering the name of the person standing in front of her.

"Hassan...."
