Jason's POV

The doctor ended up giving Bethany two bags of blood as she started to bleed again during the night. Raziel came a second time and stopped the blood, or she would have needed a lot more blood I'm sure. He smiled at me like he was in on a secret which I guess he technical is since Bethany doesn't know yet. She has been sleeping all night and is very hard to rouse. Doc says it's because her body lost a lot of blood, so her iron is low making her sluggish and needing sleep. She only wakes if we make her at least her color is looking a lot better. True to her word my mother came back to check on us. I told her she bled again, and she nodded looking thoughtful.

"I only bled once, but I am full succubus. She might be having more complications because she is half human. I'll go talk with my advisers and see if they know anything about human/succubus pregnancies. I might have to do some research." I smiled at my mother. It's good that she seems to have accepted my mate. "Oh, I also brought this." She handed me a bottle of purple liquid and I looked at her questionably. "It's vitamins for a pregnant succubus. They are special. You can confirm with the doctor. It will help control her scent and other powers during her pregnancy. You think her scent was strong or uncontrollable before pregnancy it will get worse." I grimaced at the thought. "She'll need to stay in our kingdom. She won't be able to go back up on Earth even with the vitamins unless you want to fight off every male in a hundred-mile radius." I nodded as I thought as much. My mother laughed and I looked at her like what the hell is funny. "I'm sorry, I was just thinking how strong her scent was that it made me want to do things to her. I am actually very impressed and I'm sorry I acted the way I did. She must be really powerful. I must admit I was a little jealous. Can you forgive me?"

"Yes, Mom I can forgive you, but I think you need to apologize to Bethany once she is well." She nodded and a bright smile lit up her face.

"I will. I'm so excited for the baby! I can't believe you are grown and finally found your mate and already going to be a father. I'm going to be a grandmother!" I laughed as my mother rambled on about all the things she was going to get for the baby. I guess all grandmothers are the same. We sat and talked for a few hours catching up. I haven't talked with my mother like this in ages. We were laughing about something I did as a young demon when I hear Bethany stirring in her bed. I looked over and saw her blinking her eyes and rubbing them trying to wake up. I quickly jumped from the chair and helped her sit up in bed. "I'll let you two talk. I'll be back later." My mother waved and headed out the door.

"Was that your mother?" Bethany asked me as I sat behind her in the bed letting her back lean against me.

"Yes, she was checking on you. She has actually been worried about you. She apologized to me and she want's to apologize to you."

"Really? Wow! I must have scared everyone."

"You did actually. The doctor gave you two bags of blood as you had another bleeding episode. You hungry? You slept for sixteen hours." She nodded and I pushed a button on the wall ordering some food to be brought to the infirmary.

"So, what's wrong with me Jason?" I rubbed my hands up and down her arms before taking a deep breathe now is the moment of truth.

"Nothing is wrong with you." I started and she turned her head looking at me like are you crazy. "I promise you are not ill. You are ......pregnant." I blurted out the last word and waited for her reaction. She looked at me then her eyebrows scrunched up looking like she was in deep thought.

"Most people don't bleed being pregnant Jason. If they do it usually means they miscarry. Did I miscarry the baby?" She looked sad. I picked her up and turned her, so she was straddling my body. I cupped her face and kissed her beautiful pink kissable lips.

"No baby. You are still pregnant. Apparently as a succubus this is very normal. It happened to my mother with me. The only thing is you have bled twice now, and she thinks it might be because you are half human. She is looking into that. No one talks about succubus pregnancies much but apparently bleeding and pain happens when the baby implants itself into the uterus." She nodded and laid her head against my chest as I rubbed her back soothingly. She wasn't talking and I'm not sure how she is feeling it's starting to make me worry. "Are you ok Bethany? Are you upset about being pregnant?" She sat back up and kissed my lips then smiled.

"I didn't mean to make you worry. I'm just taking it all in. I'm not upset about being pregnant. I knew it was a possibility. I love you so much and I will love this baby as he or she is part of you and me." She kissed me again and wrapped her arms around me nuzzling her head into my neck. "How long do I have to stay in here?" Just then the food arrived, and a bright smile formed on her face. "Thank God! I'm starving." I laughed and sat her back onto the bed then arranged the bedside table with her food and mine. I pulled a chair close and we both started eating. "MMMMM this is so good! What is this?" I watched as she closed her eyes and chewed her food looking like she was in heaven.

"Well, I think it's Veal Marsala. It is good." I ate and watched my beautiful mate stuffing her face like she was ravenous. She caught me staring and blushed.

"Stop staring! I'm hungry I can't help it." I laughed and gave her a second helping.

"I am only staring because I love you and I love watching you enjoying the food." The door opened and Doc appeared in front of us.

"I'm glad to see you awake and eating Bethany. Has Jason told you what we found out?"

"Yes, he did. When can I get out of here Doc?"

"Well, I was going to say once you ate and got up and used the bathroom you may go back to your room. I see you have eaten, but have you gone to the bathroom?"

"No, but I could go now my bladder is full." I jumped up and helped her out of the bed dragging the iv pole behind us since she was still attached. Helping her onto the toilet I turned my back for privacy and waited for her to finish. Once done we made our way back to the bed. Doc checked her urine then nodded.

"Ok, I'm going to remove the iv. Jason you may take her back to your room. I'll check on her before bed tonight. If you start bleeding again or have abdominal pain, you are to notify me immediately. Am I clear?"

"Yes Doc. I'll let you know if anything happens."

"Oh, and Jason she is to take it easy the next couple of days so bed rest." I nodded and noticed the doc turned red and rubbed the back of his neck. "Also, no sexual activity until I clear it to be on the safe side. At least until the research is done on human/succubus pregnancies." I rolled my eyes and nodded. I can't believe he thinks I can't control myself.

"Wait! How is he supposed to feed then?" Bethany piped up looking worried.

"I'll be fine Bethany. I can go for more than a week without needing to feed if I have to. Surely by then Doc or my mother will have some information." I smiled at her to ease her worry.

"Oh! OK, I just don't want you to suffer." I picked her up of the bed and she curled her body into my chest.

"I'll be fine." I kissed the top of her head then thanked the doctor and headed to our room.
