Jason's POV
After Jon made it to the apartment and teased me for the millionth time I blinked back to my room in the castle. Bethany was sitting up in bed with her hands over her ears, knees to her chest rocking back and forth. I rushed over wrapping her in my arms.
"It's ok baby." I soothed her pulling her body into my lap. Loud noises sounded just outside the door and I realized why she was acting like this. I kissed the top of her head and hugged her tight. "It's ok Bethany. I'm going to fix this." I sat her back on the bed and headed to the door. Jerking the door open I am met with a bunch of human sex slaves and demons fighting. Zan the blood demon seemed to be the only one fighting to keep the others away from the door and away from my mate. I waved my hands in the air and muttered the spell and everyone stopped in their tracks with confused looks on their faces. I sent everyone away and turned to Zan.
"I'm sorry Master. I smelled her scent all the way in our rooms and knew what was going to happen. I've been used to the scent a lot longer than most because of your mom. I kept everyone away as best I could." I noticed blood coming from his head and down his arms. I clapped him on the back and nodded.
"Thanks, Zan I'm glad you were here. Go get treated and make sure you are ok. We'll talk later." He bowed and headed off towards the infirmary and I went back into my room closing and locking the door behind me. "Baby, they are gone now. It's ok. No one will get to you." She looked up at me and threw her body into my arms.

"I was so scared, and I didn't know if they could get in here. I -I -I tried to turn off my scent." She started sobbing and I pulled her closer to my body. Her body shuddered and shook from her crying all I could do was try to sshh her and run my hand through her hair. After a while her crying turned into sniffles. "I -I'm (hic) s-s-so (hic)s-sorry (hic)."
"Baby it's ok. I haven't taught you how to turn your scent off. It's not your fault. I didn't know your scent would be as so strong it would effect the people in the castle and that was my fault." She continued to sniffle and hiccup into my chest. "I masked your scent. Why don't you go take a bath and relax? I'm going to go speak with my mother and work out how to help you." She nodded against my chest and I kissed her head. I opened my closet and grabbed her a big shirt and a pair of my boxers before pulling her towards the bathroom. I got her a towel and laid everything out on the counter before starting her a bath. Once it was running, I poured in some vanilla and lavender oil before helping my mate undress. Once she was settled into the bath, I kissed her temple and stood up. "You relax and I'll be back as soon as I can." She gave me a weak smile and I turned and blinked to just outside of my mother's chambers. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. My mother can be a little rough around the edges and since I have been hiding my mate, she won't be really happy. I screwed up my courage and knocked on her door.

"Come in my son. I know you have been out there for the last five minutes. Don't keep your mother waiting." Shit here goes nothing. Opening the door, I make my way in stopping in my tracks when I see my mother isn't alone. Not only is she not alone but she is with a celestial. "Finally, I was wondering what took you so long." My mother said and giggled as she came over and hugged me.
"Uhh hi mom. How you been?" I watched as she sat back down in her seat next to the celestial like it was a normal occurrence.
"Really? That's all you have to say. Not I've found my mate mom and she has celestial blood in her." She fixed me with a hard stare. Shit! How does she know this? I rubbed the back of my neck and sighed. Might as well come clean she seams to know most everything anyway.
"Yes, mom I found my mate. She has succubus blood and celestial blood yes, but she also has human. I wasn't sure so I want to make sure before I told you anything." I looked from my feet up into my mother's eyes. Her shocking blue eyes glowed before a smile broke out over her face.
"Do you think I don't keep tabs on you? You're my son and the heir to the throne. I have my ways." She said and winked at me. I rolled my eyes and made my way to one of the seats to make myself more comfortable. "Jason this is Raziel. Raziel this is my son Jason and your granddaughters' mate." My eyes grew wide and my jaw slack. How the fuck is he here?
"Hello Jason, I heard you were looking for me so I thought I would pay a visit. I enjoy a good visit from time to time. I am also very interested in meeting my granddaughter." Raziel said with a warm smile on his face.
"Bethany will be very excited. She is taking a bath right now, but she will want to meet you as soon as she can. She has a lot of questions about her birth parents."
"Yes, I'm sure she does." He said as he rubbed his chin. "I'll also need to help with learning her powers."
"Well, now that it's settled Jason why don't you go get ready for dinner along with your mate and we'll discuss it over food." My mother dismissed me and I stood up quickly blinking back to my room.

Re: Dragonize
After an unexpected turn of events, Drew must now survive in a world full of challenges with life-or-death stakes. Gone are the days when the biggest problems to face were awkward small-talk at physics department luncheons or mountains of lab work; this former physicist is now adrift in an unfamiliar land without any equipment. Now, Drew's only tool (if it can be called that) is a System, which provides constant reminders of all of the things that are still out of reach for a low-level being who's just arrived in a new world. Luckily, Drew has one powerful asset when taking on the challenges of this new world: surviving violent conflict is a lot easier when you have the power of a dragon at your disposal. Still, Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a bit of quiet consideration might expose a better path forward? Maybe a life of quiet contemplation is still within reach for this former academic researcher. ...Or maybe not. It probably won't be a life of bloodless pacifism. Additional information for those who wish to calibrate their expectations (I'm adding this based on a few comments I received from readers who feel that the story is not what they expected from a dragon-themed story): Re: Dragonize is not a power fantasy -- or at least, it's not intended to be one. Re: Dragonize is a progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative. As such, expect this story to contain more than a few digressions as the main character takes the time to pontificate on a variety of topics ranging from Newtonian physics and horology to the nature of existence and the ethical dilemmas associated with being an obligate carnivore.
