《Alice : A Magical Story [Under Heavy Editing]》Chapter 32

It's a good thing I have a spare key.

I opened the door and directly went up to my and Jason's bedroom. Not having any energy to change or have a bath, I flopped down on the bed and let sleep take over me.

My eyes fluttered open due to the sunlight.

I woke up and made my way to the bathroom. I stared at my reflection in the mirror. My eyes were puffy and red, tears stains were visible on my cheeks, my hair looked like a birds nest and my last night's dress was a bit crumpled.

I sighed and stripped down and entered the shower.

After having a warm bath I wore a pink and white stripped full sleeved top and a black skirt which reached an inch above my knees. It had a bow around the waistline.

When I walked out of the bathroom I saw Jason sleeping on the couch in our bedroom. I looked at him sadly.

I then wore pink flats and tied my hair in two low ponytails. I grabbed my sling bag and walked out of the room. It was already quite early, maybe around 7 - 7:30 am. I wrote a note and stuck it on the fridge. It said:

I'm going out. I'm not sure when I'll be back but mostly after lunch. Order something from outside for breakfast and lunch.

- Lucy

Simple and nice. I took my coat and left.

I walked around aimlessly in the streets. I kicked the snow in front of me. I sighed. I came out because I didn't want to see Jason or Felix. I couldn't look at them. Or I would break down. I frowned.

I think I over reacted yesterday. It's not like he cheated on me. He's not even my boyfriend. He has all rights to kiss whichever girl he wants. It's none of my business.

It's just that....It hurt. Seeing him kiss a girl which was not me. I took a deep breath and let it out.

I could see my own breath.

And Felix.....he had to see all that yesterday. Us fighting and me giving him the cold look. This shows I can't be a good mother. Well it's not like I'm gonna be a mother or have a family of my own in the future. I got one now but I guess I messed up everything.

Anyone who saw me now will know that I'm in a gloomy mood. My sagged shoulders, lowered head and slow steps gave it away.

"Lucy?" I heard someone call. I turned and I saw someone I didn't want to see right now.

"I'm in no mood to fight with you." I said.

"No! I..uh..I...Umm..." Gabrielle stuttered. She looked...guilty? And she wasn't making eye contact. That was one trait I liked about her. She always made eye contact. No matter who is in front of her. She then suddenly bowed.

"I'm sorry!" She said. I looked at her in surprise.

"I'm really sorry." She repeated.

"Are you talking about the kiss? If so then you shouldn't be. It's not like I'm his girlfriend or anything." I said.

"What? But I thought..." She started. I smiled at her sadly.

"Many did. But no, we're not together." I said.

"Can we talk? I really need to tell you a few things. If you don't mind that is!" She said. Why is she being so polite suddenly? Well what's the harm.

"Sure." I said.

After finding a cafe which was open so early we took a seat and ordered.

"I'd like a Cafe Mocha." I said.

"And I'll just take coffee. Black." Gabrielle said. After the waiter went there was a an awkward silence.

Deciding to break the ice I asked, "So what did you want to talk about?" She looked up at me.

"About last night. I...I'm going out with Tyler." She said. My eyes widened.

"What? Wait how did this happen? I thought you liked Jason." I said. "Well it went something like this.."

Normal POV

After Lucy left, Jason finally broke the kiss with Gabrielle. She was breathing heavily.

"I'm sorry. I need to go." Jason said and looked around for Lucy.

"If you're looking for Lucy she said she needed to carry out some errands so she left." Kelly said.

"Jason! You can't just leave me like that! Not after kissing me!" Gabrielle yelled.

This brought everyone's attention on them.

"I don't feel anything for you. That kiss meant nothing." Jason said and left. Gabrielle was about to run behind him but was stopped by Tyler.

"Let me go Tyler!" She shouted.

"Gabby calm down." He said calmly. "No! How can I calm down?! Why are you stopping me?!" She asked.

"Why do you wanna go behind someone who doesn't reciprocate your feelings?! That guy doesn't deserve you!" Tyler yelled.

"I know! But I still like him. And why do you always tell me to forget Jason?! Why are you jealous of him?!" She yelled back. Tyler clenched his fists.

"Because I love you stupid!" He yelled. Her eyes widened and she froze in place.

"I love you. Always have." He said calmly. "Why...why didn't you tell me?" She asked.

"And lose my best friend? No thanks. I didn't want to risk it. And I'm not good enough for you." Tyler said.

"How can you love me? I'm such a bitch, an asshole." Gabrielle said looking down. Tyler lifted her chin and made her look at him. He smiled at her softly.

"Because I know the real you. I fell in love with the real you. Not that I don't like the sassy you. It's kind of a turn on." Tyler said. Gabrielle laughed at the last part.

"I..I love you too. I was just afraid that you might reject me and that I'll ruin our friendship." Gabrielle confessed.

Tyler then kissed her in front of everyone with her responding full heartedly while the others cheered for the new born couple.

Lucy's POV

"Congrats. It's nice you found the person you love and he loves you too." I said truly happy for her but not being able to show it well. She gave me a small smile.

"Listen I know I'm in no place to give you love advice but still I want to say this. When Jason pulled me aside and kissed me I was shocked. I knew that he'll never kiss me but still kissed him back. And from what I have seen Jason really loves you. I mean you're the only girl he's ever been so close to. And I know there might be a reason for him to do that and he'd never think of hurting you." She said.

She's right. He might have a reason behind it. I smiled at her. "Thanks a lot Gabrielle." I said.

"Oh! Uh..its nothing. Your welcome." She said blushing in embarrassment. Our drinks came and we began talking.

We didn't have much in common but we told each other some of our embarrassing stories and she updated me with the latest gossip. I think we're gonna be great friends. We finally left the café after a few hours. When I checked the time it was already past 12 pm.

"Lucy...Umm..." Gabrielle started. "Yeah?" I asked. "Can we..uh...be friends?" She asked. I smiled at her warmly.

"Of course! We already are!" I said. She smiled at me. "I can't believe you forgave me. Even though I'm such a bitch." She said.

"You are not a bitch. You act like one. There's a difference." I said. "And I kinda admired you, you know. You're really beautiful and graceful. And even though Jason kept pushing you away you didn't stop chasing after him. You're quite strong willed." I continued.

She suddenly hugged me. "You're so cute! So adorable! And that's the first time some girl said that to me. It feels nice." She said and smiled.

"I hope we can be great friends." She said. I grinned and nodded.

"Lucy!" We turned around to see all the girls with their kid. Felix was there too with Levy. They all froze when they saw me and Gabrielle hugging.

"What's...going on?" Elly asked. "We're friends now!" We both said. They looked at us wide eyed but then smiled. "Finally all the girls are friends!" Chelsea said. "Yup. It feels nice." Jess said. I smiled at the two as the others nodded in agreement.

"Wanna join us? We're going to the mall and we're having a mother - child day." Lisa asked carrying her 'daughter'.

"I bought Felix along too since he was at my house." Levy said.

"What? Why? Where's Jason?" I asked.

"He said he had to go somewhere and that you were out too so he left him at my place." She said.

Felix walked up to me slowly. I think he's still scared of what happened last night. I squatted down to his height and smiled at him.

"So did you have fun with Aubrey and Aunty Levy?" I asked. He looked up and smiled.

He spread out his hands asking me to carry him. I carried him and we all went to the nearby mall. Good thing I have some cash with me. I was walking a bit ahead.

"Felix, I'm sorry for yesterday. Mama was a bit angry and she let it all out on you and Papa. Will you forgive Mama?" I asked. He nodded rapidly and kissed me on the cheek.

After having a satisfying lunch in the mall we left the kids in the play area.

It was actually a bit embarrassing for me and Levy. Being comparatively shorter than the others, we even looked younger. One of the staff over there asked us, "Aren't you'll to young to have children? And where are the dads?" We blushed a deep red while the other girls snickered.

We tried explaining her the reason why these kids were with us but we stuttered a lot and she didn't understand anything and just muttered, "Kids these days. Can't even control their hormones." Levy and I were about to faint with embarrassment.

We quickly walked away from there and started our shopping.

"Lucy isn't your birthday coming up?" Levy asked.

"Oh yeah. It's next week. The day after Christmas Eve." I said.

"Why didn't you tell us? We can all celebrate together!" Lisa said.

"Sorry I forgot I guess." I said. "Lucy I have a favour." Gabrielle said.

"What is it?" I asked. "Let me dress you up. Only for today! Please!" She said.

"What?! But why?!" I asked. "Please! Please! I've always wanted to do that. You are so cute like a doll. I wanna dress you up!" She pleaded. And I ended up agreeing.

After trying endless number of clothes, we were finally done and I was beyond exhausted.

I even had many bags in my hand. The girls forced me to buy the ones in which I looked really good.

"Come on let's go have some cakes now! I know the perfect place!" Kelly said.

"Why not take the kids first?" Elly asked. "There are still 10 minutes left. We can pick them up later." Kelly said and dragged us to a comfy restaurant. We all ordered our cakes.

"Miss, the cake you ordered contains a bit of alcohol. Is that okay?" The waitress asked.

"Yeah it's fine." I said absentmindly. She then left. "Are you sure? Have you ever drunk alcohol?" Levy asked.

"No but how bad could it be?" I said.

"You've never tasted beer or wine?" Kelly asked. I shook my head. "Wow. Someone's really innocent." Kelly said.

"But I don't think she's that innocent when it comes to things concerning Jason." Lisa said wiggling her eyebrows at me and the girls giggled while Gabrielle looked at me with worry plastered on her face.

My eyes were covered in sadness. Seeing my saddened face they stopped laughing.

"Lucy, what's wrong?" Elly asked. "Yeah what is it Lu?" Levy asked. I looked at Gabrielle and she nodded at me saying that I should tell them the truth.

After telling them they all were not that surprised since they already knew what happened last night.

"So you knew? We were actually thinking on how to tell you." Kelly said and smiled at me softly. I returned it. Levy hugged me.

"Don't think about that guy. You have us." She said. I smiled at her and then at everyone else. I have great friends.

Our orders came and we enjoyed our cakes while talking.

After eating half of my cake, I started feeling a bit woozy and felt the world spinning. I hiccuped a bit and smiled weirdly.

"Lucy are you okay? Your face is a bit red. And you look like you're wobbling a bit." Lisa said in a concerned voice. I stood up on my seat.

"I'm the Queen of the world!" I yelled and everybody turned to look at me. I just giggled before Levy pulled me down.

Normal POV

"Lucy what's wrong with you?!" Kelly asked.

"Oh Kelly (hic) you worry too (hic) much." Lucy said.

"Oh no! I think she's drunk!" Levy said. The waitress hurried to the table. "Is she okay?" She asked. "She's drunk." Elly said.

"But that cake has very less amount of alcohol. I guess she has less alcohol tolerance." She said. They all looked at Lucy who's head was now on the table and she had a weird smile on her face and kept mumbling nonsensical things.

"I'm sorry for all this. But if you don't mind can you'll take her out? She's causing quite a ruckus and the other customers are getting disturbed." The waitress politely said.

"That's fine. And Thanks, the cakes were delicious." Lisa said and the girls helped Lucy up and dragged her outside. Levy and Gabrielle made her sit on a bench while the others went to get the kids.

"What's wrong with Mama?" Felix asked.

"Your Mama's just a bit tired. Come on let's go home now." Lisa said in a motherly tone and they all left the mall.

Once they reached Lucy's house Felix knocked on the door and Jason opened it. He looked at Lucy, a bit surprised.

"Heya Jason! Wha'cha doing?" Lucy asked, wobbling towards him.

"She's drunk? How?" Jason asked as he caught Lucy just before she fell to the ground. She started mumbling something like, "I'm in Jason's arms. I'm in Jason's arms."

Felix had already gone inside and was watching TV.

"She ate a cake with some alcohol in it. But we didn't know she had such low tolerance." Levy said. His eyes shifted to Gabrielle.

"And why are you here?" He asked a bit coldly. She looked a bit scared. "Gabrielle and Lucy are friends now." Kelly said.

"And you better take care of her and don't try anything funny." Lisa said glaring at him along with the other girls. He wasn't the least affected by it.

They then started walking ahead but Levy stayed back.

"She's really upset. And she feels bad about yelling at you like that, though you deserved it. I know you didn't want to make her cry so you better clear things up. And also man up and tell her how you feel. Bye. Take care of her." Levy said and left.

Jason sighed and then picked up Lucy bridal style.

"Felix I'm taking Mama up. She's tired so don't disturb her okay?" Jason said. Felix nodded and went back to watching TV.

Jason carried her upstairs and made her lay down on the bed. He was about to get up but was stopped by a small hand.

Jason's POV

I turned to see Short stacks holding my wrist. She was smiling at me weirdly and her cheeks were tinted pink.

"Where da ya thank yer going?" She said, her words a bit slurred.

"I'm getting you some water. I'll be back." I said and tried to pull away my hand.

"No! Don't leave meeee!" She shouted. "Short stacks stop cribbing. I'm just getting some water for you." I said getting a little annoyed.

"Then kiss me first!" She said. "What?" I asked surprised. Oh I forgot she was drunk.

"Kiss me! Or don't go!" She said pouting. Well who am I to tell her no. But I'll feel a bit guilty if I do.

"Come on!" She insisted. I do wanna kiss her. I wanna taste her again. Hold her in my arms. Without me knowing I was already leaning in to kiss her. I decided to keep it only a peck but when our lips connected I almost lost all control. I could taste chocolate and even a bit of alcohol. I pulled back before I did something I regret. She was staring at me with a blank expression.

I hurried down and got her a glass of water.

After she gulped it down, I covered her with the blanket.

"Just sleep now." I said. "But I'm not sleepy!" She said. She didn't look as drunk as before.

"Oh come on. Just go to sleep. I'll even sleep beside you if you want." I said, exasperated. She smiled wide and patted the spot next to her. But she still didn't sleep. And the smile had disappeared.

I heard people when drunk, say lot of stupid stuff but most of it is said to be true and they forget all about it the next day.

"Why do you kiss me?" She asked. I brushed her bangs from her forehead. I caressed her cheek softly and stared into her round chocolate brown eyes which always pull me in.

"Because I love you." I whispered. A tear fell down her cheek but she was smiling, though sadly.

"Then why did you kiss Gabrielle? Why lead me on? Why make me cry?" She said as tears flowed down her cheeks.

Her eyes held hurt, sadness and pain. I brushed away her tears with my thumbs and kissed her closed eyelids, her forehead, her cheek and then pecked her on the lips. Her eyes were shutting down as slowly sleep took over her.

"I'll tell you the truth soon. When you're sober and I hope you understand and forgive me. And I'll even tell you my feelings. So wait for me." I said and pulled her closer to me and buried my head in her neck.

I breathed in her vanilla and star dust scent. It always seemed to calm me down. The sound of her even breathing made me succumb to sleep too.
