Like cocaine,

ephemeral sounds of beauty

danced through my veins

with grace in every move

seeping into the core;

imageries of you and I

insisted what could

have been of us

- tanned bodies

trading laughters

at warm beaches

while seeping cocktails.

Imagination had

the best of me.

Like cocaine,

our fantasies drew

a warning line

that we ultimately crossed

with our blatant exposure;

we drowned in the waters

and now, not even

the slightest tinge

of hope for a sequel

was left for us.
