My emotions thrived

in sad poetry.

My desires strived

in mad gallantry.

Guardians banished

all my dreams.

Guardians made

my soul fall apart

at its seams.

GUARDIAN

Remember when we promised

to be each other's guardian?

Remember when lightbulbs

animated in our eyes

whilst they dawned

upon us, vowing that we

would be united as one

in the end?

Now, we pretended like

each other's existence

was irrelevant, laughable,

a disgrace to society;

cocaine hearts became

a distant memory so

thin-layered, a pinch

would transform it into

specks of dust.

I was running out of words;

my dull poetry birthed chaos

and shipwrecks.

I was now lacking of soul;

my mad ways of living

invited suicidal thoughts

and self-destruction tendencies.
