I took shelter from the sun

when you were struggling

to find solace in your bed;

sleepland never came to you

so you resorted to me for pills.

I was a nocturnal owl

dying for a touch of hibernation;

somehow you slipped a pillow

under my head

from the other side

of the screen.

And you watched

the sparks that bonded us

fading away slowly

whilst I jumped on

the clouds of reverie

without you by my side.
