《Anime One Shots Book 1》Uraraka Ochaco X Male! Reader (My Hero Academia) {Just Friends, Right?}

All this situations will be based off what I've either read or watched from manga/anime.
Also, the reader is taller than Ochaco but isn't a giant that's why I didn't add tall! reader in the title.
Walking through the hallways at U-A was always an unique experience. One minute everything is completely silent and then the next something's exploded. Usually the classroom that has an explosion is the support class workshop. Then followed by a bunch of yelling, and then the hallway is once again filled with silence.
Dread fills (Y/n) face has he looks over at his friends. "Is it really my turn?" He says, referring to being blasted upon opening the support classroom door. The others nod and he sighs, opening the door.
"It didn't explode!" Hatsume Mei cheers right before her latest project started to smoke.
"Foreshadowing at it's finest." Tsu says and steps back with the others like they weren't already at a safe distance.
(Y/n) face palms and the project explodes, sending him into the window. Luckily, not breaking it. He falls off it like a piece of paper floating in the wind.
"Oh." Hatsume walks out of the workshop. "Hey everyone, didn't see you there."
(Y/n) stands up, "you really didn't hear me knocking?"
"Over the sound of a hammer hitting metal, no." She laughs and walks back into the workshop. "What can I help you with?"
Iida follows her, asking if she can fix or upgrade parts his hero costume. Deku also walks in with Tsu to see if any other students were there. Of course, no one else but the teacher was there. Many support students, while they get along with Hatsume, don't like being in the workshop with her at the same time. Either does her teacher but that's mostly for safety reasons.
Todoroki and Uraraka look over at (Y/n), who's holding his head in his hands. "Hit your head?" She asks, moving his hand away to see if he was bleeding.
"Yeah a little." He replies sarcastically, "I'm not bleeding am I?"
"Nope you're all good."
"Let's head inside now." Todoroki says to get out of their way. Sure they aren't dating or anything but sometimes it looks like it. Only to outsiders, the two involved are clueless.
The entire friend group is constantly begging their heads against the table. Sometimes they meet up and discuss whether or not they're going to try to push them closer together, or just leave them alone. Meetings are still going on to this day.
Hatsune is already working on the repairs that Iida needed. Her teacher is assessing what needs to be done with Deku. Tsu is watching the madness go down.

"So what are you in for?" Todoroki asks Uraraka.
"I was wondering if I should get some gloves to cover up my fingers and the palm of my hand. But regular gloves don't work well..." She notices both boys look at her hands. It was a natural movement that she took notice of.
"Can find gloves your size?" (Y/n) says is a teasing way. He always picks on her for her size. Despite not being much taller than her.
She stays silent. Not wanting to lie; but the truth was she could only wear the kids sizes. And she'd rather not admit that.
Before Todoroki could chime in, the workshop teacher approaches them. "I didn't mean to overhear but I believe we have something in store for you. We'll just have to make adjustments for your finger pads. Could you hold out your hands for me? I need to check the size."
Uraraka begrudgingly held out her hands. The teacher nods and heads into a closet filled with unused support items. Some of them are past students projects while others are just plain strange.
(Y/n) holds out his hand, gesturing for Uraraka to do the same. They place each other's hands on top of one another's. Tsu and Todoroki look at each other, then the other two, and then back at each other. Silently thinking the same thing, "these two are hopeless."
----
The sound of a knock appeared on Uraraka's door. While she was expecting company, there's still no telling who's on the other side of the door.
"It's open!" She shots from her desk. Still finishing up yesterday's assignment that's due tomorrow afternoon.
"Hey." (Y/n) greets and closes the door. He walks over to her desk and peers over her shoulder. "Still working on that? You can copy off of me if you need to."
"Oh? What's with you being nice all of a sudden?" She says playfully, getting slightly shoved by her friend. He too was messing around.
"I'm always nice. Most of the time."
She closes her notebook and stands up, "only when you owe someone back."
"Yeah yeah yeah," he waves her off. "I'll buy your lunch tomorrow."
Uraraka cheers and moves onto why he's hear. "So what dance do you need me to teach you?"
He shrugs, "any slow dance I guess."
She frowns, "do you know what speed of the songs? Or how formal this place is?" She asks trying to get some information out of him.
(Y/n) shrugs again, "it's a black tie event and I know what time I'm supposed to pick her up."
Sighing, she unlocks her phone to play some slow music. Teaching this man how to dance was going to be harder than she thought. Even worse he has to leave in a few hours. She decides to teach him the simplest dance she knew.

"Wait." He says and stops her right before she starts to play a song. "Is there way you could just not play music?"
She looks at him like the big idiot he is. "Uh, no?" She replies, "it doesn't work like that. I need to teach you how to count your steps as well to the song."
He thinks for a second it comes up with an idea. "Do you have ear buds?"
"Yeah..." She walks over to her desk and takes them out of the drawer. Wondering what exactly he's up to but think she has it figured out.
"This way we can both hear with music without, bothering, anyone else." He reasons.
She doesn't believe a word he's saying. "Sure. Whatever you say." She's definitely going to tease him about this later. But chooses to not tell the others.
With the music now playing she begins to teach him the basic stance. "Hold your arms out." She says, holding hers out as well. He does. "Place your right arm underneath mine, stopping where your elbow meets." She then takes his other hand and holds it up.
"Make sure you keep your hands at her eye level tonight. And you can lay your hand against my shoulder blade." He follows her instructions, a little too focus on the music.
He's a little nervous in the moment. What he shouldn't be this; this just Uraraka. It's just nerves about tonight, he reasons. Until he realizes how close they're standing. She pushes him back slightly to give them some space between them.
"Now for foot work. Starting with your left foot; take a step to the left. But not a big step. Maybe like half a step." He takes a step with her following. "Now do that, and the same direction, three more times."
He looks down at his feet, making sure he's not stepping on her foot. Though it's kind of hard to do it with this dance. The exact reason why she chose this one in particular.
"Good now step to the right four times."
"So back to where we started?" He looks at her in the eye. Seeing how nervous she was too. Finding it a bit strange, but doesn't think about it.
She nods in reply. He was quick to figure out how to be in step with the music. With that he was ready for his date that night.
He thanks her and leaves. A part of them both wishes they could still dance. Just for a minute longer, they say to themselves.
When (Y/n) boards the train to pick up his date that night; he finds himself not wanting to go. He didn't know the girl very well and she probably didn't care much about it to begin with. So he steps off the train way before his stop. Goes aboveground and calls her.
Telling the girl bluntly that he changes his mind and cancels the date. She didn't mind and that was that. He now finds himself wondering what caused him to change his mind.
----
"(Y/n)," Todoroki says, "you like Uraraka."
"What!? Of course I don't! She's my friend!" He yells.
Todoroki holds his phone away from his ear. "Yeah and you can still like her. It's painfully obvious to the rest of us." Knowing full well if he doesn't say a bluntly (Y/n) would never get it through his thick skull.
"Does she know too!?" He exclaims.
"No she's hasn't caught onto her feelings for you either." He answers, "just talk to her okay? Or think about what I said." He hangs up the phone and returns his attention to his soba noodles. Yes what he did was extremely rude but it was an impactful action.
Instead of thinking about it, (Y/n) rushes over to Uraraka's dorm room. He knocks one the door twice before she opens it.
"Let me call you back..." She says and hangs up the call she was on with Tsu. Speak of the devil, she thinks.
"Hey, uh," (Y/n) starts off awkwardly. "I'm going to say this straight," his tone returns to normal. "You like me!?" His voice gets higher in pitch real fast.
"And you like me!?" She exclaims. "When did that happen!?"
"I don't know Todoroki told me I did. And that you liked me too!?"
"'Too?'"
He thinks for a moment, "too."
She sighs of relief. "Tsu had to explain it all to me. I thought that I did like you but then we're also friends..."
He nods along, "which just makes things more complicated..."
"Then there's the whole 'but what if we break up, can we still be friends?' thing." She looks at him to catch him nodding along.
They stood in silence for a moment. "I didn't go on that date."
Her eyes sparkle a little, "really?"
"Yeah. Before I could think I was calling her to cancel it. I know now that I just wanted to be with you. Whether we're dating or not." He says and smiles. "So if you're willing to give it to go, how about a date?"
Uraraka smiles back, "sounds good to me."
