《Anime One Shots Book 1》Shoto Todoroki X Fem! Reader (My Hero Academia) {Permanent Hug From You}

After a night out with their friends, (Y/n) and Todoroki wave goodbye to their friends. "I'll send you some photos later tonight!" Uraraka smiles as Iida tells her to not walk backwards.
"Be safe guys!" Midoriya adds as they disappear down a different street.
"And here I thought only guys wore shortsleeves in winter." Todoroki chuckles when he sees (Y/n) start to shiver from the cold.
"And here I thought icy hot could stand any type of weather yet here you are in a coat plus a scarf." She bit back, crossing her arms as he continues to laugh.
"You're going back to the dorms, right?" He asks. She nods in reply. "If it's okay with you, let's make a little detour."
"Todoroki," she puts a hand on his shoulder, "you're very lucky we're friends. Otherwise I... no I would have still said yes." She removes her hand and follows to wherever he goes.
A neon 'open' sign hangs next to a green 'coffee' one at the store Todoroki steps in. "Shoto!" The elderly lady cheers. "I was just about to close up."
"Hello." He smiles, "do you have any tea left by chance? Something hot if you have it."
She smiles back, "I will always have something for you. Oh and you have a friend I see."
"My name is (Y/n), I'm a classmate of Todoroki. It's to meet you." She says, stepping forward a little.
"Nice to meet you too, I'll go get your tea now. Don't want to keep you out all night." The lady turns around as the two walk up to the cash register. "Don't worry about it." She says, referring to them paying as she passes their drinks across the counter.
"You've been so kind to us, we must pay." (Y/n) says, putting her yen down on the small counter. The lady shoves it back over to her.
Todoroki is about to do the same but (Y/n) drops her yen into the jar labeled 'need a ¥1?' and dashes out the door. He follows her actions but says, "thank you very much. I'll visit again soon!" He closes the door before the lady could respond and looks over at (Y/n).

She takes a sip of her tea, "this is just what I needed."
"Worth the detour?" He asks as they start walking, hoping the lady had accepted defeat.
"Definitely." She takes another sip, "but how do you know her? If you don't mind me asking."
Todoroki follows her actions, taking a sip of his tea. "This place is really close to my house actually. My siblings took me here as a child, the snuck me out believe it or not. It was my oldest brother's idea. We stopped coming here after, well, you know about what happened with my father and all."
She nods, "I'm glad you brought me here. We should invite your siblings or the others here too one day." Others is referring to Midoriya, Uraraka Iida and Tsu.
He nods, "we will. But for now," he takes off his coat after sitting his tea down onto the road. "You need to stay warm. Otherwise you'll get sick."
"Idiots don't get sick." She replies, waving off his gesture.
"Said every idiot that does." He said, wrapping the coat around her shoulders. "My house is at the end of this street while you still need to catch the train back to the dorms." He picks up his tea and walks past her. "C'mon or else it'll be a long walk back to the dorms."
(Y/n).exe has stopped working. She reboots by telling herself that it's the sudden warmth that caused this. Which is nothing but a lie.
----
"And done." (Y/n) steps back from her sewing machine and holds up the sweater.
"Wow!" Tsu and Uraraka look at it in awe from her bed. "It looks like it was made in a factory!"
"It's not ugly, is it?" She asks her friends, "or too much? There's only four buttons... is that too much or too little?"
Uraraka puts a hand on her shoulder, "it looks great. Not ugly but not too... uh..."
"Funky." Tsu finishes her thought.
"Yes thank you. Four button is a perfect amount. He's going to love it."
"You really think so? I still have time to buy him something."

Tsu backs Uraraka up, "Todoroki always appreciates handmade gifts more than anything. He's going to love it."
(Y/n) nods and looks over at the time, "oh jeez I got to start getting ready."
"When are you guys meeting?" Tsu asks.
"In half an hour."
The other girls gave each other a look while (Y/n) went over to her closet. "We should stay here, just in case..." Which was a good call on their part. Uraraka helped (Y/n) with her hair while Tsu wrapped the gift up nice and neatly.
"It's hard to believe it's been a year since you guys started dating." Uraraka commented, putting the last finishing touches on her hair.
"Time really flew by this year." (Y/n) chuckles, standing up. "Thank you both for helping me."
"Of course!" They both smiled, Tsu handed her Todoroki's coat from last year. "He told you to keep it, didn't he?"
"No, he demanded I keep it. Like, he got mad demanded." She sighs, "I don't wear it too often but it's our one year so I thought it might be okay."
The girls nodded, understanding what she was saying. "Every time someone gives me something of theirs I don't wear it too often." Tsu agrees.
"If you wear it all the time the person doesn't smile as much when they see you." Uraraka adds.
They all leave and head down to the entrance where the boys were sitting at. They too had just gotten there. Todoroki and (Y/n) looked at each other and smiled.
"Alright then." Uraraka and Midoriya say, "it's time to eat." Tsu and Iida follow them into the kicthen, leaving Todorki and (Y/n) alone.
"Ready?" Todorki asks, (Y/n) nods. "Do you want to exchange gifts there?"
"Yep, sounds good to me." She replies, taking his free hand and walks out the dorm building.
They came across the same neon 'open' and green 'coffee' sign. "Thought that it would be fitting to come back here." (Y/n) says, "is that okay? Sorry for not asking beforehand. I wanted it to be a surprise."
"Not at all." He says opening the door.
"Welcome!" The lady from a year ago greets them. "Oh Shoto and (Y/n)!" Her smile widens when she spots their intertwined hands, but doesn't make a comment about it. "What can I get for you?" The two place their orders, pay without having to put up much of a fight, and take a sit near the window.
"So," (Y/n) started, sliding his gift across the table, "this is a thank you a year late."
Todoroki gives her a puzzled look but unwraps the gift anyway. He holds up the sweater, "to keep you warm. Like you do for me." She explains, gesturing to the coat.
"Thank you." He says, putting it on after taking off his coat. "I love it. It feels like that comforting feeling whenever I see you after a bad day. How warm your smile is when your face lights up, it brights my darkest times. Wearing it feels like a hug from you."
(Y/n) smiles at his words, even though he had only had it on for a minute.
"Oh yeah," he changes the topic, "why did you pick this place? You said you had a reason for it."
"Well..." (Y/n) sighs out of embarrassment, "it's the first place I fell in love with you, Shoto."
He chuckles, taking her hand in his. "That's funny, this is the same place I fell in love with you too."
And that's where I'm going to leave it since I don't know where to go from there.
Very small explanation:
1. The things about the 'need a ¥1?' is because you can't leave tips for people in Japan. (Thanks Trash Taste Podcast for teaching me that) so I had to come up with something else. I've only seen one store to this but they didn't keep it out long whatever I thought it created a cute moment.
2. I feel like Todoroki likes small touches (holding hands) rather than big ones (kissing). Therefore I did not make them kiss. Also I feel like he only falls for his friends, which is why half of this one shot is some silly interaction.
3. Todoroki can give sass.
