《Anime One Shots Book 1》Kyoya X Reader (Ouran High School Host Club) {Kyoya's Practice Family Dinner}

"Welcome!" The Host Club greets as soon as I open the door. They aren't dressed in cosplay which is a little strange for them. Then again it is the beginning of the week, they must be saving something for Friday or Saturday.
"Hello." I smiled at him making sure to keep up a formal appearance.
"Just you?" Tamaki asks and walks over to me. "You are a little early too you know~"
"Yes I am sorry about that but I have a favor to ask you all." I replied looking at the other club members.
"Why don't you have a seat, Haruhi please bring our guest some tea." Kyoya suggests, gesturing to a small table.
"Thank you very much." I bow slightly and take a seat at the table. Kyoya sits down his clip board and takes a seat across from me. Haruhi brings over a new tea seat and begins to pour us some tea.
"I recommend you try tasting it first without adding anything in it." He says and smiles sweetly at me.
"Thank you, Haruhi. You have come along way since you first started." I said and take a sip of the tea.
"Now then, what would you like to discuss." He asks, looking up from his paper work but never sitting down his pen.
"I would like to make a request for one of you," I began looking at Kyoya dead in the eye to show him that I was being serious. "My family is disappointed that I am not seeing anyone. Despite them knowing I am not seeing anyone that have asked that I 'bring over my lover for family dinner' this Sunday evening. I have come to ask if one of you will be willing to act as my boyfriend for the evening. I will give you something in return of course."
The other host club members look at each other and then back at our table. "Very will, I shall play the roll of your 'boyfriend' then, (L/n)." Kyoya says and smiles sweetly at me.
"But isn't my father a client of yours? If they find out that this is just a lie then-"
"Worry not they won't find out. I am a host after all." He says, pouring me some more tea. "It is practically my job to be a charming man after all. Wether it's for a club or now. Besides this will make both of our families happy."
I smirk slightly but immediately fix my face. "So what you are saying is that you don't trust anyone else to do the job right?" I said and take another sip of my tea.
Kyoya chukles while the twins and Haruhi hold Tamaki back from our table in the background. "That's one way to put it. I do trust Haruhi but I believe that I will be better fit for the job." He takes a sip of his tea before saying, "I am the more proper one here after all."

Tamaki storms over to our table with the twins chasing after him from across the club room. "How dare you say such a thing Kyoya! I am very proper-"
"Boss! We have guests coming in at three o'clock!" The twins shout and Tamaki races back over to the club room door.
"I shall take my leave then." I bite back a laugh, the Host Club is always lively it's hard not to bust out laughing sometimes.
Kyoya hands me a piece of paper, "actually I would like to have a small family dinner at my place. Just to show you how I will be acting around your family on Sunday. If you are not happy with my skills you can choose another host."
"Aren't you just saying that so you won't feel bad about taking the reward later?" The twins asks while seating there guests a few steps away from Kyoya and I.
"Now now, let (L/n) answer before you go spouting such non-sense." He smiles but he seems like he is threatening the twins with it.
"I actually like your idea believe it or not." I reply looking down at the paper he handed me. It was his address and details of what may take place during this dinner party.
"We can discus it in more detail tomorrow if that's okay with you." He says as we walk over to the door.
"Thank you very much, I would like to do so. I can stop by again a little earlier tomorrow if that is okay."
Kyoya nods but didn't have time to reply because of his requesters rushing over to him. He looks at me apologetically before attending to his guests.
----
It was now Friday evening, I stepped out of my families car, thanked the driver and began walking up the steps to Kyoya's house. Kyoya appears from the front doors with a smile, "I'm glad you could make it." He says, bring my hand to his lips. "Come on inside." He opens the door and holds it open for me.
"Thank you." I nod and step inside. It was pretty much what I expected his house to look like. The classic family portrait looming over a grand staircase, a sliding glass door leading to the patio filled with plants and high ceilings. Kyoya walks me over to the dinner room which of course has a glass chandelier hanging over it.
Candles and super fancy china are placed on the table for five people. "It appears my mother won't be attending tonight..." He mumbles under his breath and continues walking into the kitchen.
His two brothers were standing there having a small conversation but stopped when we walked in. "Ah, I see you have brought some weirdo again from school."

"(F/n) this is my two older brothers, Akito." He gestures to the man who just spoke.
"Nice to meet you." I hold out my hand to shake. Akito scoffs, rolls his eyes but shakes my hand non the less.
"And Yuichi." He gestures to the man standing across from his other brother.
"Nice to me you too," I hold out my hand for him to shake. Yuichi shakes my hand without making a fuss, "likewise." He replies.
"Since you're hear I'm guessing father will be joining us tonight?" Kyoya questions.
"Yeah, you saw the dinnerware." Akito bites, popping a grape in his mouth. "And why is a member of the (L/n) family here anyway?"
"Just a little scheme practice of course, what else." Kyoya glares.
"That's enough you too, it doesn't matter why (L/n) is here. We are clearly having a formal dinner so just act the way you are supposed to." Yuichi says walking towards the exit, "I'll go get father so we can start."
Yuichi leaves the kitchen, his brothers now staring at each other. I am starting to think this wasn't such a good idea after all. Non the less dinner begins and everyone eats their meal quietly. Their father asks me some questions like "how is your father doing?" and "how's business been?"
The silence was uncomfortable but everything was going smoothly. Kyoya would make eye contact with me, nod, then go back to eating. It was a little strange but I'm sure he had to have a reason for it.
Once we all finished eating our meals their father spoke, "Kyoya why don't you take (L/n) up stairs. Yuichi and I have somethings to discuss."
Kyoya complies without saying a word. He gently takes my hand and we walk up the grand staircase. We enter what I assume is his room and he closes the door. "I'm sorry about all this, I didn't know Yuichi was home." He says, leaning against the door. "We couldn't really practice or go over anything."
He walks past me and takes a seat on the floor where a table is placed at. Since the air is no longer screaming at me to be formal, I sit down across from him without him making an attempt to offer it to me.
"We could practice now if you would like." I suggest and he looks up from staring down at the table. "You know, so this wasn't all for nothing."
Kyoya smiles softly and agrees. "Well to start off you know how to dine formally, not that I'm surprised or anything. I'm sorry about looking over at you while we were eating, I know it was weird."
"Yeah it was," I admit, "but I knew you had a reason for it."
"Do you know what might happen on Sunday, like does your family do anything when they have guests over?" He asks, his posture relaxing a little.
"Depends on who is coming over. Usually when someone younger, like my cousin or something, we will dance after having dinner before my mother serves cake at the end of the night. I'm assuming you know how to dance?"
He stands up and, gently, takes my hand. "Why don't I show you." He helps me stand up before walks over to his record player resting on a shelf, a few albums hug on the wall for decoration. He puts on some classic ballroom music and moves the table out of the way.
"Shall we?" He says and holds out his hand for me to take.
I blush a little and take his hand. Kyoya immediately takes the lead and begins to waltz. A few minutes have pasted and he seems a little impressed. "You haven't steps on my foot once, I'm a little surprised."
I chuckle at his words, "I've known how to waltz since I was four, it's the easiest form of ballroom dance you know."
"True." He smiles, "but let's get back on topic. What will convince that I am in fact your boyfriend?"
I think for a moment and sigh, looking up at his face to see his eyes staring back at mine. "They always told me to date someone who, this is there words, 'has what it takes to run our family' and 'who will take care of you'."
"Which translates to...?"
"Someone who is kind and respectful to me. Someone who is not a jerk to others but is strong willed. Kind of like you, Kyoya. I thought it was funny when you said that you would be willing to do this for me."
He smiles, "you were always a nice person, (F/n). There weren't ever any rumors spread about you unlike most people at this academy. In fact I had only heard good things about you, in passing of course. And you seem like the kind of person who is isn't a little bit crazy, again unlike most people in this academy."
He kissing my forehead, "how about I be your actual boyfriend on Sunday instead of your fake one?"
