"What's going on Sabertooth high!" The student host said into a microphone. Only the students in the middle part of the larger bleachers cheered. Then again, only the people in the first few rows cheered.
"Seriously how are we even in the same year as they?" Sting sighed, "he still acts like a first year."
"Everyone in our year does Sting." (Y/n) replied, "at least we got the top corner this year."
"Yeah, this is going to be a very boring twenty minutes. What's the point of having a pep rally's anyway!"
"Because everyone has to be included. Besides this is a way for them to make a big deal about tonights basketball game."
"Yeah I know all of that!" Sting shouts over the now loud music playing. "But why is the dance team preforming? Do they even go on competitions like marching band does?"
"I don't think so! They would have said something on the announcement of they did!"
"Thank you dance team!" The host said, "what a wonderful performance!"
"Yeah that's one word for it." (Y/n) scoffed, "why can't we decided wether we should go or not? Exams are next week for fucks sake."
"Like you said, this is just to get people 'hyped' for the big basketball game tonight."
"Next up we will have the senior basketball players come up and play 'musical chairs'!"
"Really?" They both said.
"So someone from the crowd will throw an item onto the court. Each player will have to pick up the item and then return to a chair. Of course one chair will be taken away at a time until we have a winner. Ready...." The host paused to make it more dramatic, "go!"
A few people in the crowd threw down the same pair of shoes.
"We'll they don't call us 'reject Fairy High' for nothing." Sting groaned, "funny how all the shoes were all black. Not even our school's co-"
"And we have our winners! Let's start the next round!"
"How much longer is this going to take?" "Yeah for real." "The pep rally's are always so lame!"
A few people sitting around Sting and (Y/n) start complaining. "What do they expect? Pep rallies are always a bore." Sting sighed, "you and I could put on a better show than this."
"Hell yeah we could." The couple high fived.
Turns out the next item was a water bottle. A plastic water bottle filled with water. "Well this'll be good." (Y/n) said.
"You just know one of the bottles is going to bust open." Sting replied, "three, two, one..."

The water bottles were tossed from the audience. And sure enough one of the busted open and spilled water all over the court. Still the basketball players raced to pick them up, a few falling over in the process. In the end, they finished the game and the basketball mangers brought out a mop and paper towels to clean up the mess.
For some reason, a student tried making their way up the bleachers but ended up falling in the process. The pep rally host saw this, "whooo! Look at this guy go!"
"What the hell is he talking about?" Sting asked, "this kid slipped and fell."
"What did you expect, the guy hosting this was always an ass." (Y/n) replied. And then the kid tried "dancing" again. "He knows the host is making fun of him, right?"
"I don't think so..." Sting answered, "it looks like the kid is trying to break dance."
Some of the audience was laughing, but most students stayed silent.
"Jeez why are they picking on him, he looks like a first year." (Y/n) sighed.
"I have an idea," Sting grinned, "why don't we go down there?"
"Qué?" (Y/n) responded, "and why would we do that?"
"Because we're third years! We don't care who makes fun of us and it's our last year here! Might as well do something memorable. Plus we make fools of ourselves all the time, come on (Y/n)." Sting was completely serious about this.
"Alright, but we have to do the 'routine'."
Sting smiled, "fine by me, let's go."
The two made their way down to the court, the managers were still cleaning up the spilt water.
Sting gave (Y/n) a look that said, "you go talk to the kid and I'll talk to the host." They nod to each other and were off.
"Hey kid," (Y/n) said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "You know they're making fun of you, right?"
"W-what?"
"They're not cheering you on, they're laughing at you. Go back to the bleachers, my boyfriend and I will handle this."
The kid had a sad look on his face but left without saying a word.
Sting managed to get the song started. "Good thing she was a fan girl." He smiled. They met up at half court with smiles on there faces.
"Five six seven eight." (Y/n) counts off and they danced the "routine" from the show FRIENDS.
Some of the students pick up on the dance and start cheering. Sting and (Y/n)'s friends, Natsu, Lucy and Gray cheer the loudest.
"I swear they were made for each other." Gray laughs. "Sting is smiling a lot more than usual."

"Well he's a goof ball in his natural habitat." Lucy replied, "being an idiot in front of the school must be a lot of fun for him."
A realization hit Natsu, a smile took over his face.
"What are you so happy about all of a sudden?" Gray asks.
"You'll see." Natsu replies, "Sting must have something else planned."
Gray and Lucy looked at each other and then back at Nastu. "Lucy come with me." Natsu said, standing up. "You too Gray."
"Umm okay?" Lucy replied and followed him down the bleachers. Gray was hesitant but followed them out into the gym lobby.
"Why did you want us to follow you out into the lobby?" Gray asked, "just trust me." Natsu replied. Gray and Lucy followed Natsu the concession stand, "Gray I need you to be on stand by. When I do this," Natsu made a motion like he was pushing up glasses, "that means that I need you to grab a microphone and hand it to Sting."
"Umm okay?" Gray replied, walking off to the gym entrance.
"Okay Lucy, here's the plan..."
Meanwhile, Sting and (Y/n) finish the dance with a kiss. The crowd cheers, "I love you." Sting says, "I love you too." (Y/n) replies.
Sting takes a few steps back and gets down on one knee. The audience of students goes silent, except for Sting's fangirls.
"Gray!" Natsu shouts from the concession stand and makes the signal motion. Gray rushes over to the pep rally host. "I need this..." he said and took the microphone, turning it off and then sliding it over to Sting.
Sting grabs it and turns it on. "I know that this isn't the way I planned on doing this. Originally, I was going to pick you up on that school bus. The one we met on and take you to 'the usual spot' with Natsu, Lucy and Gray. But I guess I was never a simple person." (Y/n) chuckles and smiles.
"I've been so in love with you since we met on that bus five years ago. You were so mad at everyone and I never knew why. But I got you to crack and showed the world what an incredible person you really were." Sting sighs, "I wish I asked you out sooner, but maybe it's a good thing I didn't. We were close friends who would tell each other all our deep dark secrets and weird four in the morning thoughts."
Natsu tosses a ring pop, a hard candy that is placed on plastic. The plastic is shaped like a ring, which is why it's called a ring pop. "Thanks mate." Natsu smiles at Sting. "(Full Name), will you marry me? I know this isn't a real ring but-"
(Y/n) gets down on one knee too and kisses him. "Hell yeah I'll marry you! How did you know I had the same idea!?" Lucy tosses (Y/n) a ring pop, "thanks love!" They both open up the package. "Sting Euclifee," (Y/n) says, "I would be honored to marry you. I love you so damn much. These may not be real rings but who cares! We were never normal anyway!"
Sting laughs and they place the rings on each others hand. "Well, I think we just lighted up this pep rally." The audience shouts while the Sting fangirls boo at them. "We outta be leaving now. If everyone could please exit in an orderly fashion, aka please don't ran over each other."
The students seemed happy to leave since class was almost over. Sting and (Y/n) stayed in the middle of the court. "I can't believe we just did that and with ring pops." Sting laughed, "and what did you mean you had the same idea?"
"I'm broke Sting, there's no way I could afford a real ring. Plus ring pops taste good." He laughs, "and like I said we were never normal."
Natsu, Lucy and Gray met up with them in the middle of the court while the other students were still returning to class. "I got to admit," Gray said, "I never thought that you two would get engaged like this."
"What are you talking about! I'm surprised they didn't do this sooner!" Natsu laughed.
"Thanks you guys, seriously." (Y/n) smiled, "and hey, Natsu, how did you know I was going to propose with a ring pop?"
"Oh Lucy told me."
"I-I'm sorry! Natsu told me about Sting's plan and I thought it was funny since you both had the same idea..." Lucy rambled.
"Lucy, I'm not mad." (Y/n) placed a hand on the blondes shoulder, "it worked out, didn't it?"
"Yeah guys seriously thank you." Sting said, wrapping on arm around (Y/n).
The three friends smile at the couple who was looking at each other with so much love in their eyes. "The teachers are going to be so mad at us." Lucy sighed, "we better get going."
"Yeah," Gray replied.
It was the last pep rally of the group's high school life. All of them were boring, strange and a waste of time. But this is the one they will all be telling for the rest of their lives.
