"Jeez what's taking her so long." (Y/n) groaned, "it's getting late and she should be here by now."

"Still waiting for Temari, eh?" Shikamaru asks as he walked by.

"Yeah she still hasn't shown up." He replied. 

"Well maybe this time you'll ask her out." The lazy ninja replies and walks away quickly.

"We are just friends!" (Y/n) yells back and Shikamaru just waves. 

(Y/n) was tasked with being Temari to the hokage instead of Shikamaru, who claimed to be sick. He was told she would be arriving around noon but the sun has set and still no sign of her. He was told to wait by the front gate to the Leaf Village until she had arrived. 

Shikamaru told him that Temari was never ever late. "Oh great now the stars are out...." (Y/n) mumbled to himself.

"So you're not a fan of the stars?" A women's voice asked. Temari then appeared from the darkness. 

"I do when I'm not stuck waiting for someone." He sighed, "come on we have to hurry to the Hokage's office."

"Yeah yeah yeah I know. Sorry for being so late. A sandstorm appeared and stayed longer than usual. Any idea what I'll be told?" She asks.

"Not a clue. All I was told was, 'Temari will be arriving at noon. Bring her to the Hokage office as soon as she arrives.' And that was it."

They chatted about a few recent things like what they have encountered during their travels, missions they have been on and what's new in their own village.

"A new sweet shop opened up last month. Naruto and I have been a few times. They have good Dango's and Mochi...." (Y/n) trailed off, trying to think of new shops that have opened up since the last time Temari was here.

The two hang out while on a mission. Last time (Y/n) was in the sand village, him and Temari decided to try out a few restaurants they have never been too. It's kind of like a tradition to grab a bite to eat before returning to their home village.

"Oh! We should try it out! I've been craving mochi for a while now." She exclaims. 

"Well make sure you find me before you leave and we'll get some. My treat this time." (Y/n) said with a friendly smile.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah you payed last time, right?"

"Yeah but-" Temari was cut off by the door to the Hokage's office opening. 

"Guess you better go in, come find me when you have time." (Y/n) waved off.

A week passes by and there is a knock on (Y/n)'s door. "Who the hell is up at this hour..." he mumbles, opening the door and rubbing his eyes.

There stands Temari, "well well someone likes to sleep in late."

"No one in there right mind enjoys getting up this early. And how do you know where I live?" He snaps back.

"I ran into Naruto the other day and asked him where you live. By the way, why does everyone want us to go out?" She replies, crossing her arms.

"Hell if I know. For some reason when a guy and a girl hang out people assume they are dating. Guess guys and girls can't be friends at this point." (Y/n) replies, "anyway what are you doing here?"

"Today's my last day before I head back to the Sand Village. You did say we would get mochi." She smiled.

"Yeah I remember, they don't open for a few hours you know."

"Yes I know but I don't have anything else to do..." She trailed off.

"Well come on in then. Make yourself at home." (Y/n) said, walking back inside.

(Y/n) and Temari ended up trading stories for hours. 

"This one time I ran into Sasuke on the way to the Hidden Mist Village. He didn't attack me or anything but he had lots of hate in his eyes." Temari said, "well more than usual anyway."

"Did you tell anyone?" (Y/n) replied. 

"No, it wasn't any of my business. Sasuke left all on his own. It isn't my job to drag him back here. After all he would just leave again. Isn't that why you didn't want to help bring him back?"

"Yeah but I heard the other guys were in trouble so I had to help. It had nothing to do with Sasuke. Even you helped out too." (Y/n) said, pouring tea into two cups before heading one to the blonde girl.

"Well you do have a point there." She said, taking a sip of her tea. "By the way how is Naruto doing? I haven't really gotten the chance to talk to him."

He takes a sip of his tea, "same old Naruto but more grown up. Heard from Sakura that they brought back Team Seven even without Sasuke. They all seem to be doing good but you never really know what is going on in someone's head. How is Gaara doing?"

"Getting stronger since he was kidnapped which I think you heard about?" Temari replies, adding a little more honey to her tea.

"Yeah I was told, they almost sent me to help but ended up sending me on another mission. What about Kankuro?"

"He has made a full recovery. The people of the Sand Village are very thankful for your help. So what was the mission you ended up going on?"

"Hidden Leaf stuff, sorry but I'm not aloud to tell anyone just yet." He replies, checking the clock to see what time it was. "The sweet shop should be open by now, ready to go?"

Temari nods her head and they left, (Y/n) locking the door behind him.

(Y/n) and Temari were greeted as soon as they entered the sweet shop. "Welcome!" An older man greeted, "have a seat where ever you like."

They choose to sit by the window and look over the menu. They chatted a bit more, ate and then left.

"Geez since when do you eat so much." (Y/n) said, looking at his now half empty wallet.

"You said it was your treat." She replied, caring her to-go bag in one hand.

"Still you got a lot." He mumbled, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"Can you hold something for me?" She asks with a smile on her face, holding out her hand.

That's right, the Temari used a pick up line.

(Y/n) started laughing, thinking it was a joke. But also because he never in a million years thought Temari would say that.

Temari scoffs, takes her hand back and walks faster out of embarrassment. 

"Temari hold on," (Y/n) says catching up to her. "You can't just say a pick up line and then walk away." He says, grabbing her hand. "You didn't even let me hold your hand for you."

"Smooth." She replied, laughing at him while he was laughing at her.

"Whatever I just bought you a days worth of food. Also you're cute when you're embarrassed." He said, knowing all too well that it would make Temari even more embarrassed.

"I knew listening to Lady Tsunade was a bad idea..."
