The (L/n) family just finished moving all their boxes into their new house. "(Y/n), please take this to the family that lives next door. It seems we have a piece of their mail."

"Fine." The girl huffed, still mad about moving to a new village. There was nothing wrong with the small village she had grown up in. Now she had to live in a huge village and become a ninja. Still, she tried to be happy when she knocked on the families door.

A boy her age answered the door. He had blonde hair, blue eyes with two lines on each side of his face.

"Hi!" (Y/n) said trying to be cheerful, "I'm (Y/n) who just moved in next door. We had a piece of your mail and...uh..." she hands him the piece of mail and stopped talking, not knowing what else to say.

"My name is Boruto, it's nice to meet you (Y/n)! Thank you for bring us this, sometime our mail gets mixed up with yours." The boy said with a chuckle.

"Boruto! Who's at the door?" A lady's voice called from inside the house.

"The girl who just moved in!" He shouted back, "come met her!"

A lady and a small girl came to the door, both of them had purple hair. "Hello, I am Hinata and this is my daughter Himawari. It's nice to meet you." She was so kind and spoke in a soft voice.

"Hello, I'm (Y/n) and I was just bring over a piece of mail that was in our mailbox. It's nice to meet you all." She greeted with a smile, waving to Himawari who was hiding behind her mother.

"Well we won't keep you any longer, the sun is already setting. Let us know if you need anything at any time." Hinata said with a warm, motherly smile.

"Thank you very much, please let me know if I can help out in anyway." (Y/n) replied, waving as she walked back to her house.

"Hey you did say 'whenever you need help, let me know' or something like that!" Boruto argued after (Y/n) said no to letting him copy her homework.

"It's not even front and back! You have to learn this stuff otherwise you won't even make it to the final exam!" (Y/n) argued back.

"Can you at least help me?" He asked, giving her the puppy eyes even though it doesn't work on her.

She sighs but agrees, it's not like she wanted to go home. "Fine but only because you're my friend."

Boruto pulls her into a hug, "thank you thank you thank you!"

She laughs and pulls him off of her, "come on let's go. You better hope you get put on the same team as me."

"Man that would be awesome if we would be on the same team! We would be the perfect duo!" He shouted in excitement, wrapping his arm around her and raising his fist in the air. "No one would be able to beat us!"

She laughs at his words and smiles at him. "That may happen if you even pass the final exam. But we would make the best duo."

Boruto smiles at her, "then let's pass our exam!"

Time passes by and they finally finish their homework. Well mostly Boruto's late work but that still counts as homework. "Jeez how are you not dead yet? I thought your mother would kill you if she knew about all those missing assignments." (Y/n) said, stretching.

"That's because she doesn't know and report cards are coming out tomorrow so..." He trailed off.

"So you wanted me to help you get all caught up?" She asked.

"Yes because if you didn't my mother would make me come right back home after school. We couldn't even hang out if she did that!" Boruto defended himself, making (Y/n) smile.

"As long as that was everything, you better pass this final exam. You owe me (favorite food) by the way." She said still smiling.

"Okay okay we can go get some after school tomorrow." Boruto sighed.

(Y/n) giggles and nods. They stayed out running around being dumb before saying goodbye at sunset.

"Do you really think Sarada will become Hokage?" Boruto asked, opening his canned soda.

"I don't see why not, what makes you ask that?" (Y/n) replies, opening her soda.

"Because then I may be her right hand man." He mumbles, taking a drink.

"What's wrong with that? It'll get you away from me." She says with a chuckle.

He squished her hand in his much bigger one, "you know I won't stay away from you. But will I even make the right choices?"

"Only time will tell, it would be best if you didn't worry about these things. Sarada may not even want you as her right hand man. Maybe she'll ask Mitsuki or Shikadai. We don't know what will happen in the future. Better use that to your advantage while you still can." (Y/n) said in a calm voice.

"Yeah your right. I'm just glad we were put on the same team after all." He smiles, "you were right about that so maybe you'll be right about this." He lets go of her hand to wrap that arm around her shoulder. "So what're your plans? I know we're still teenagers but..."

"Dunno, maybe I'll stay here or maybe I'll leave and go back to my home village. I don't want to leave you but at the same time I want to go home for awhile. At least a month to see how the village is doing. You know?" She explained, "I miss being there sometimes. Don't get me wrong I love living here and meeting you is the best thing that ever happened to me but...."

Boruto kissed her cheek, signaling her to stop. "Hey you don't have to explain it to me if you don't want to. Whatever you want to do I'll support you. No matter what happens I'll be here for you, promise."

(Y/n) smiles at his words, "thank you," and kisses his cheek. "Guess it's time to start heading back. The sun is already setting."

"Getting married at sunset? Why am I not surprised." Sarada said to (Y/n) as she was getting ready for her big day.

"We have to get married at sunset, that way we can see each other after the sun has set." (Y/n) replied, "you know it's cute." Sarada laughs at her words but doesn't reply.

After saying 'I do' and making Boruto's parents cry, (Y/n) and Boruto sneak out of the reception.

"Our first sunset as man and wife." Boruto says, "I'm glad you came back. Who knows what I would do without you."

"You're the one who brought me back. Sure I'll miss my home village but your my true home, Boruto. You make me happy and cheer me up when I'm sad. Thank you." (Y/n) replied.

"I promised you I'll be here no matter what." He said and kissed her. "And it's a promise I want to keep."
