This song is inspired by the song Daydream Away by All Time Low. By the way, in this one shot (y/n) is a nerd and loves Pokémon but I couldn't add that into the title because then it would be too long. I know some of you guys like Pokémon and that's the only video game I know that you don't really need context for. Just a heads up.

"Sasuke! Would ya hurry up already! We need to warm up before we start!" Naruto shouted at the lead guitarist.

"Yeah I know dumbass!" Sasuke shouted back at the blonde.

"Just pick a damn song!" The blonde snapped back.

"Why are you two yelling?" Asked the bass player, Shikamaru. "You and Naruto are literally behind each other."

"Because I don't know if he can hear me! I'm in a drum cage ya know!" Naruto replies.

"Because it's fun to yell at him." Sasuke replied in a calm voice before strumming the begging cords for a song. "How about we play Daydream Away?"

The other two band members looked at each other, their faces soften. "Yeah man, we'll play it." Shikamaru said with a sad face.

"Just don't get too soft, ya know?" Naruto adds.

"Yeah I know. Just can't stop thinking about her today, that's all." Sasuke said softly and began to play the same cords again.

"I wish you could see your face right now, 'cause you're grinning like a fool." Sasuke singing the first line and is hit with flashbacks to the time they were together.

"Sasuke! Hurry up! They're about to open!" (Y/n) said wearing her favorite video game merchandise.

"(Y/n) the store will not sell out of Pokémon X and Y. It's not like you need both." He replied as the girl dragged him around the street corner.

"Yes I do! How else will I know which legendary is better!" She exclaimed, "it's not like you play video games!"

"For your information I do play video games! Just not as much as you do!" He snaps, "why do you think I agreed to come with you!"

"Whatever just hurry up already!" (Y/n) shouts at her best friend.

"Fine, have it your way!" Sasuke shouts back and began to run down the street, never letting go of (y/n)'s hand. "We're only nine (y/n), how can you even have that much money?"

"You would too if you didn't buy anything for two years!" (Y/n) said, "would you let go of me already!"

"Nope." Sasuke replies with a smile, "we're almost there."

The two were far behind in line but were able to get two copies of Pokémon X and Y before they sold out. (Y/n)'s face lit up when the shopkeeper handed her games.

"Too bad we don't have phones," Sasuke started, getting the girl's attention. "I want to take a picture of you're smile, you're ginning like a fool."

"That sounds like a line from a song that you're brother plays out loud. At least whenever I'm over at your place." She replies, shoving the boy into the building. "And of course I'm ginning like a fool! This is one of the best days of my life!"

Sasuke continues to play the next cords without hesitation, "and we're sitting on your kitchen floor, on a Tuesday afternoon."

"How come you're parents aren't home?" The raven haired boy asked the girl as he took off his shoes, placing them near the front door.

"They're at work." She replied, "where else would they be."

"Yeah I guess you're right." Sasuke says, "changed your 3DS last night, right?"

"Of course I did!" (Y/n) exclaimed as if he insulted her. Which he kind of did. "Who do you think I am!"

The boy held up his hand in defense, "okay sorry sorry." He said down in the kitchen floor. "The couch is too far away." He mumbled and opened his 3DS.

"I couldn't agree more." (Y/n) said and sat next to him, opening her 3DS. "On three we start our new Pokémon journey together, ready?"

He nods, "one."

"Two....." (Y/n) says, getting ready to started up the game.

"Three!" They shouted together and started up the game at the same time. "Yes!" They cheered and high fived.

The two kids giggled the whole time they played, knowing that they would be playing this game over and over again until the game broke.

"Best day ever." Sasuke whispered to his best friend.

"It doesn't matter when we get back, to doing what we do." Shikamaru sang, thinking about the girl he loves. He knew he would see her later on tonight thanks to wifi and a laptop.

"'Cause right now could last forever, just as long as I'm with you." The band sang together.

"Sasuke?" (Y/n) asked.

"Yes?" He replied.

"Please don't leave me."

The boy turned away from the screen to look at his best friend, "I won't."

"Promise?" The girl asked, holding out her pinky finger.

"Promise." Sasuke said, linking his pinky finger with hers and they shook on it.

"You're just a daydream away I won't know what to say if I had you." Sasuke sang, thinking about the day she had to leave.

"What!? What do you mean goodbye!" Sasuke shouted, tears forming in his teenage eyes.

"I have to, my parents got a job somewhere else. But I'll be back I promise. We will see each other again." (Y/n) explained as her best friend pulled her into a tight hug.

"I know you will." He replies, "I'll wait for you."

"And I'll keep you a daydream away just watch from a safe place so I never have to lose." The band sang together.

"We would go out on the weekend to escape our busy lives." Naruto sang, "we'd laugh at all the douchebag guys, chasing down their desperate wives." Sasuke joined in and looked over at Shikamaru who was flipping them off. He was laughing on the inside though, after all he was the only on married.

Around the time Sasuke and (Y/n) left uni, they just so happened to live close to each other. After becoming best friends again, they would hang out everyday and almost every night.

"Damn that hit the spot!" Sasuke slurred, "we should do this every night!"

"You won't be saying that in the morning." (Y/n) sighed as she put his seatbelt on for him.

"Come on (y/n) have some fun! Get a drink for once!"

"But then who would drive you home every night?" (Y/n) replied, starting up her car.

"You make a good point." Sasuke sighed and rested his head on the seatbelt, "love you."

"Love you too, drunk Sasuke."

"I would drink a little too much. You would offer me a ride and I would offer you a t-shirt, and you would stay another night." Naruto sang into the microphone.

"Stay." Sasuke demanded as (y/n) got him into his bed, "I have t-shirts you can wear for the night." His speech was still a little off.

"I would love too but I have go." (Y/n) said but Sasuke grabbed her hand.

"You just said you would love to stay, so stay." Sasuke insisted, "it's just one night."

(Y/n) nodded, too tired to fight drunk Sasuke. "Fine." She climbed into his bed and he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her closer to him.

"But you're just a daydream away, I wouldn't know what to say if I had you." Shikamaru sang, "and I'll keep you a daydream away. Just watch from a safe place so I never have to lose." Sasuke joined in.

"We never stood a chance out there, shooting love in real-time. So we'll take it over ice tonight, with a little salt and a little lime." Shikamaru backed off and let Sasuke sing that line by himself.

"(Y/n)," Sasuke began to say, she hummed in response. She was still in his arms, not wanting to move. "I love you. Like for real. I fucking love you. Sure I'm drunk but it's about time I tell you."

"Sasuke..."

"I'm serious, holding you is the best feeling in the world. I'm in love with you (y/n)." He added, "I've loved you since I kinda knew what love was. Since we were teenagers."

"Then why haven't you told me? After all this time." The girl asked, trying to process what her best friend just told her.

"Because I didn't want to lose you, not again." He mumbled sadly.

Naruto played the drums faster, making an opening for Sasuke to let out all his frustration.

"You're just a daydream away! I would't know what to say if I had you!" Sauke shouted but was still able to make it seem like he was singing. "And I'll keep you a daydream away! Just watch from a safe place so I never have to lose!"

The band always gave it their all, even during practice. Shikamaru and Naruto knew how much this song meant to Sasuke, making them play even better for his sake.

"You're just a daydream away, I wouldn't know what to say if I had you." Sasuke, Shikamaru and Naruto sang together as that was the last line of the song.

They could hear the crowd cheer from the stage, "it's time." Shikamaru said as he backed away from the microphone.

"Let's play one hell of a show!" Naruto cheered and twirled his drum sticks.

"Hell yeah." Sasuke said calmly, following his bandmates out onto the stage.

The girl in the front row, smiling and shouting her head off was none other than (y/n). None of the boys knew she was coming here tonight. Still, this made them play even better. It truly was one hell of a show.

After the show was over, Sasuke found (y/n) outside of where they were playing. "Hey." She greeted and Sasuke pulled her into his arms.

"Don't ever leave me. I don't want you a daydream away. I want you here, with me." He whispers in her ear.

She chucked, "I'm not going anywhere. Promise."

The two made the same promise they made when they were two nine year olds playing Pokémon X and Y in the kitchen floor on a Tuesday afternoon. But this time, they kept the promise.
