《Anime One Shots Book 1》Mitsuki X Reader (Boruto: Naruto Next Generations) {When Internet Friends Meet}

Edit February 3, 2021: So apparently this one shot doesn't have a gender for the reader which is honestly surprising to me but like alright then. Just one more nah gender reader for this book. Let me know if I'm wrong here so that I can correct it.

You know that feeling when you're away from the one person who means most to you? How about the person you care about most is away from you? Or they're away from you? Maybe you have never met? Never seen each others faces. Never gotten the chance to embrace and kiss. Never heard them say, 'I love you' ever.

Then you start thinking that you never will. Can't tell your friends about them, they'll just think it's weird. They will hate the person who means the world to you with out even meeting them. Worst feeling in the world, right?

One day, the green dot glow next to their name. Smiling to yourself, 'good morning! Well not for you.... are you still awake?' Read the message they just sent.

I know that they smiled when I replied with, 'yeah I'm still here. Took you long enough to wake up lol.'

Mitsuki and I live across the world from each other. Our chances of meeting are, well, never. It hurts to think that the person you want to see most is across the world.

'How was your day?' They replied.

'It was okay, lots of people came in today but at least I got a lot of tips.'

'Hey, that's good! Extra money is never a bad thing.'

I smile at their words. He never fail to make me so happy with the simplest words.

Before I could reply back, they started to type again. 'Okay I'm gonna cut to the chase. Are you still stuck on not wanting to see me?'

I froze, not sure what to reply. He noticed me not saying anything for five minutes and does something bold. The next thing to appear on screen was 'accept video call?'

A video call. Really, now he wants to see my face. He wants to break the barrier. Now of all times.

Apparently there was a time limit for how long you could think about clicking the 'accept call' icon or 'decline call' icon.

'So, this is it?' He continues to type, 'if you don't want to break this wall okay. But that doesn't mean I don't want to see you. I want to meet you, (y/n). Hug you close and never let go. Hold your hand and ask you to a date. Then another. Another after that and one more before I ask you to go out with me.'

I sat back in my chair, too many thoughts spinning through out my head. 'Please, I don't want to stop being friends with you. You say you're ugly and I tell you you're not. You reply with 'you've never seen me before so you don't know' and now you won't let me see you. What are you afraid of?'

No, not like this. We will not end because of this.

With a leap of bold faith, I clicked the 'video call' icon. Mitsuki answered immediately answer.

My face cam was on, he knew what I looked like. He knew how torn I was. The color of my walls and the shirt I was wearing. The color of my hair and the bags underneath my eyes.

"Happy?" I said.

"Wow, you really are prettier than I imagined." Mitsuki said.

I glared at him, "really? That's the first thing you say?"

"What do you want me to say?" He replied.

"That you don't want to meet me. Not in real life anyway." I answered, looking away from the camera.

"(Y/n), look at the camera." He said, "please? I can't make you after all."

"If I did look at it, that would only give you satisfaction."

He chuckled, "you're not wrong. Never thought you would out smart me."

I jerked my head back over to the screen, "wh-" then it hit me.

He laughed, "or maybe not."

"I swear if you wink I'll-" and he did. He winked and then laughed at my pissed off face.

I groaned in annoyance, "seriously?"

"What? You make such a cute face when you get mad. I won't make you mad when we meet."

"Who says we will?" I challenged.

"You'll see."

----

He was right. We started talking everyday on video call for a year. This was not counting before that night for me, day for him.

I stepped off the plane and went to get my suitcase. Mitsuki was no where to be found. Panic started to make its way to my mind. I looked and looked for his blue hair, but he was nowhere to be found. My phone wasn't working in this country, there was no way of contacting him.

I felt a pair of arms wrapped around my waist after panic took over my mind. I tried to get out of their grasp before shoving them away, only for my hand to be caught as I tried to make my escape.

After snatching my hand back, I heard my name be called out. "Wow (y/n), you already want to leave? Do you really not like me?"

Mitsuki? Of course he would do something like this to get me running into his arms. Which, this time, I did. Who wouldn't when they first meet the love of their life.

I turned my head to look behind me, and there he was. With a smirk on his face, arms wide opened. A smile of relief made its way over to my lips.

"You jerk." I whispered as he pulled me into his embrace.

"See, I knew I would get you here." He said to himself.

"Too bad you don't kiss the first time you meet your internet friend."

He chuckled at my words, "we won't be friends for long. But I have my morals. Three dates and we kiss, five and I ask you out."

I smiled, looking up at him, his arms still wrapped around me. "Good to know."

He let go and took my free hand. "Shall we?"

"We shall."

We walked out of airport, hand in hand.

"No moral on holding hands?" I asked.

"Not when it's the love of your life."

----

It was now the third date. This time, Mitsuki didn't tell me where we were going.

"Since we do you like surprises?" I asked as we walked hand in hand.

"Since always." He replied, giving my hand a small squeeze.

I pouted, "can you just tell me already?"

"Where's the fun in that?" He questioned, "plus you always make the cute face when I don't tell you something."

Snow covered the streets and sidewalk but it was still relatively easy to walk in. Then again, there's black ice. Guess who slipped and fell?

Mitsuki. Duh.

He slid a little bit when he did too. I was too busy laughing that I didn't notice that he had gotten up.

He glared at me as I was clapping my hands, still laughing.

"Jeez shut up." He mumbled and kissed me. I was taken back by this and this made Mitsuki deepen the kiss. He placed his mitten covered hand on my cold cheek, and pulled away to catch his breath.

"Happy?" He asked, "that was the surprise!"

I stared at him for a moment before exclaiming, "no it was not!"

He smiled at my sudden out burst, still being close to my body and decided to once again kiss my lips.

As the snow started to fall again and light post began to flicker on, we headed back to his place.

"By the way, you're still sleeping on the couch." Mitsuki said as we approached a cross walk.

We stopped at the cross walk when I replied, "yeah why wouldn't I-"

He cut me off with a kiss, the cross walk sign changed when he pulled away. "That's why."

I tilted my head and had a look of confusion written on my face, "what do you mean, 'that's why?'"

We had once again come to a cross walk and he kissed me again. Again he pulled away when the light changed, "because if we sleep in the same room, all you'll want to do is kiss me."

I laughed at him, "sure, totally."

He shook his head and we continued at walk to his place. We kissed once last time when we got to his apartment.

He made us tea and we decided to talk about books the rest of the night.

Of course no night is complete without a good night kiss.

"Sorry but I'm out of 'kisses' please trying again tomorrow." Mitsuki said with a smile on his face.

I stood up and kissed him myself. We were standing in the doorway of his bedroom. Time to have my revenge. I pulled away and pushed him into the room.

"Good night!" I cheered and walked away from the door.

He mumbled a few swear words but decided to not give in, closing the door to his room after mumbling a quick, "good night."

----

I knew he couldn't stay away. He really did love me. He took it upon himself to sleep with me on the couch, arms wrapped around my waist as he lifted me off the couch.

"Sorry to wake you but I didn't want to leave you by yourself." He said.

I nodded, still half asleep. The couch was big enough for us to cuddle and fall asleep on together. Which is exactly what we did.

My head was on his chest as his arms were wrapped around me. Making me feel the safest I have ever felt. Knowing that the love of my life would protect from anything.

Here is the "cutest I can possible make it" and long request! This was all the cuteness I could muster from my heart. It has run out of cuteness. Which means I need to play more Final Fantasy XV but it's late and I'm half asleep. Anyway, to the requester, I hope you like it and I'm sorry that this is all the cuteness I could come up with. I hope it is long enough as well.
